Chapter 36 : I Hate the Way You Are

Sotis life is like being doused with a strong alkali—you cannot predict it, nor resist it. You can only lie there and accept it. Vivian was now seriously questioning things.

Originally, she had intended to provoke Eve and lure her into acting on her own initiative, so that she would reveal a different side of herself—even sothing vulgar and disgusting would have been fine.

But why was she the one left embarrassed?

No, no, this was not how the script was written. What kind of situation had this beco? In this version the little girl was far too disadvantaged—clearly the older woman was the dominant one.

After excitedly telling Eve not to touch her, Vivian still lay in the wide chair, gasping heavily. She did not even have the strength to curse.

After a long while, she slowly moved the hand covering her face. Her slightly moist eyes blinked, and upon seeing Eve’s calm expression, her brows furrowed.

She then tried to stand, and Eve instinctively stepped forward to help.

“Do not touch … cough—” Vivian choked on her saliva in agitation, pounding her chest hard before slowly rising.

Hearing the footsteps leave, and then return, she was handed a cup of warm water. As the instigator—though not entirely responsible—Eve still took on the role of cleanup.

“Young Miss, have so water.”

Vivian swallowed heavily, then snatched the cup. The motion was so large that droplets splashed out, landing on her damp black stockings.

They were soaked with her own sweat, sticky and uncomfortable, but she could not care about that now. She gulped it down as if she had not drunk water for three days.

The water that slipped from the corners of her mouth ran along her neck and into her collar. At a glance she looked utterly disheveled, carrying a strangely alluring sense of ruin.

A defeat CG, one might say.

When Vivian finally recovered, she recalled what had just happened—her embarrassing reactions, the soft breathing sounds, the pleading words.

Stacked together… the blush that had not yet faded from her face deepened once again, forcefully returning.

Had she been played?

The thought surfaced, and Vivian subconsciously looked at the white-haired maid standing nearby, hands folded over her abdon, looking honest and proper.

“You…”

“What is it, Young Miss?”

“Are you really human?”

Eve’s expression did not change. Her tone sounded almost teasing. “Could it be that I am a Vampire?”

Vivian hesitated, emotions tangled within her. She realized she had failed—completely failed. A whim-born idea clearly could not achieve her goal.

Her goal had been to see the real side of her, yet throughout the process she herself had been overwheld, unable to focus, let alone observe Eve’s inhuman mont.

Right! Speaking of inhuman!

Vivian suddenly grew angry and asked darkly, “When I told you to stop, why did you not stop? Could you not see my reaction?”

“Your voice sounded pleasant.”

“Who asked you that?!” She slamd the empty cup onto the table.

“I was rely fulfilling your request. I feared you might not be satisfied, so I did not stop touching—”

“Be quiet!” Vivian was furious. Her hanging legs subconsciously pressed together, her whole body trembling as she muttered through clenched teeth, “On this kind of matter you suddenly listen to …”

Should she be happy or angry?

Eve had indeed obeyed, and even overfulfilled it. From beginning to end, she herself had proposed everything, while the other acted like the ideal obedient hound.

But there was action without attitude. The premise of a proper loyal hound was that the master must possess sothing attractive enough for voluntary devotion.

“Then next ti I should do the opposite?” Eve tilted her head slightly and asked uncertainly.

“Next ti… you still want a next ti…? I want to kill you right now. I will make that annoying face of yours disappear forever, seal you in concrete, and throw you into the sea!”

“Young Miss, you know I am not afraid of death.”

Vivian: ?

She could not even breathe properly. The psychological expert was still on vacation and could not be invited.

At this mont Vivian truly wondered whether she had gone mad. She was clearly angry, yet could not harden her heart. Punching cotton felt terrible.

No feedback, do you understand?

It was fine. She had already tried her best. Small was cute too.

In her eyes, Eve seed incapable of fear, grievance, anger, or emotional disturbance—even after toying with a girl.

Like a pool of deep water, stagnant and unmoving. No matter how many stones were thrown in, they would simply sink, let alone produce a splash.

Vivian raised her head and suddenly smiled in relief.

“You know, your indifferent attitude at least proves you are still a flawed creature.”

“But I hate you like this. What I hate even more is that I am curious… how to make that face of yours show a different expression.”

“I can smile, actually.”

“No…” Vivian shook her head and sighed. “I have had enough hypocrisy. I do not want to see false affection either. You cannot be like this—even if you openly say you hate

or want to kill .”

Eve fell silent for two and a half seconds. When their eyes t, Vivian seed to expect a satisfying answer, but Eve was always rigorous.

“Why must it be ? Others also—”

“I want you!” Vivian blurted instinctively.

By the ti she realized it, it was too late. She almost wanted to dig a hole and bury herself. It was far too embarrassing. Bearing the Hatherin surna, she had actually said sothing so easily misunderstood to a maid.

“What exactly does Young Miss an?”

“Just… for example, react to . Anger is fine, disgust is fine,” Vivian awkwardly clenched her fingers and looked out the window. “Even simple impatience—you must show it.”

The clock on the distant wall ticked tirelessly. Eve and Vivian remained silent for a long ti. It was a decision ant for confession.

“If I cannot do it?” Eve finally asked.

“Hehe, then we will continue like today until you can,” Vivian smiled, looking at Eve again, her expression returning to its original challenge-like resolve.

Eve asked, “In other words, there will be a next ti, correct?”

“So you did enjoy it, right?”

“I did not—”

“You are lying,” Vivian said firmly, her smile growing stronger. “That unmoved face—is it your pride? But I noticed a tiny change just now.”

“It ans you are interested in playing with my legs… perhaps even playing with

as a whole, correct? How disgusting…”
