Huo Sining didn’t live on campus, so she had always been a loner.

Huo Sining always entered the classroom just in ti for class and left right after, so she wasn’t familiar with those girls; at most, they would nod to each other if they t.
However, today after Huo Sining finished her class and was ready to go ho, soone called out to her just as she left the classroom.
“Huo Sining, wait a second.”
Huo Sining turned around curiously, looking at the person who had called her.
“How is your show preparation going?” The person asking was Xu Yating, the class monitor from Huo Sining’s class. She held a form in her hand and looked at Huo Sining with a mix of curiosity and skepticism in her eyes.
Huo Sining was stunned by Xu Yating’s abrupt question. What on earth was this about?
“What show?” Huo Sining wondered inwardly, asking reflexively.
“The performance for the freshn welco party, didn’t you sign up? Tomorrow is the preliminary selection. The departnt has co to take stock of the performance list, and they asked
for the specific na of your act.”
Xu Yating felt sowhat surprised; in the half-year she had been managing the class, she inevitably paid attention to this elusive and solitary girl in her class.
Xu Yating had always thought Huo Sining to be a cool and introverted person, yet she hadn’t expected that for this welco party, Huo Sining would go directly to the departnt and sign up, bypassing her.
But Huo Sining was confused. She had recently been busy researching Hetian Jade, preparing to visit Hetian with Bai Yishan after the exams and to ask for that mysterious jade carver’s help while chancing her luck on Hetian Jade as well.
For that, she had to look up a large amount of information beforehand out of fear that she would be utterly ignorant there. So, with how busy she was recently, spinning like a top without a mont’s rest, she hadn’t even paid attention to the welco party, let alone signed up.
Yet Xu Yating was unaware of Huo Sining’s thoughts; she handed the form to Huo Sining, who saw her na printed on the freshn welco party’s preliminary selection program list as soon as she looked down.
Huo Sining frowned subconsciously, her eyes showing a hint of vexation: “I didn’t sign up for the welco party. Where did you print this form from? Could there be a mistake?”
“It wasn’t you who signed up?” Xu Yating suddenly paused upon hearing this, and then a look of concern and urgency appeared in her eyes, “How co? This form was printed from an electronic sheet distributed by the school; there can’t be any mistakes. Didn’t you sign up on the school forum?”
“The school forum? Can you sign up directly on there?” Huo Sining puzzled. She hadn’t visited the forum of S University, much less signed up for so welco party.
Xu Yating nodded, “There are two ways to sign up for the welco party. One is to sign up with , and then I submit it to the departnt, or you can fill out an application on the school forum, and the teachers in charge of the cultural evening will compile it.”
Huo Sining was speechless. How could such an Oolong mistake have occurred? She had no special talents; why would she sign up to perform in a welco party? Wasn’t that just embarrassing herself? She wasn’t foolish enough to shoot herself in the foot.
But what’s the deal with this registration form?
Huo Sining looked down at the form, only to see the words “solo dance” as the chosen act. She was speechless.
Solo dance? What a joke. She had never danced in her life, not even a square dance. Expecting her to dance in front of so many people from the entire campus was ridiculous, wasn’t it?
“Can I forfeit?” Huo Sining instinctively thought about backing out. She didn’t want to take part in such an event. Sitting in the audience was so much better; she had never liked the feeling of being watched by everyone on stage since she was young.
However, Xu Yating beca anxious when she heard Huo Sining’s words: “How can that be possible? The list is already set. You and Wang Qin are the only ones who signed up from our class. You’ll be representing the face of our class. I’m counting on one of your acts to make it to the finals. Walking away now, not to ntion , even our advisor wouldn’t agree to it.”
Huo Sining felt depressed hearing this. She understood what Xu Yating ant. But even to make an appearance, she had to be able to dance, and the problem was she just couldn’t. How could soone with stiff limbs and no dance skills suddenly learn it overnight?
“What is Wang Qin going to perform?” Huo Sining asked subconsciously.
Xu Yating looked down, searching for Wang Qin’s registration form, and said, “She’s also dancing, a folk dance, sothing like a peacock dance. She said she practiced it in high school.”

After glancing at the program list of the other two departnts in the College of Biology, Huo Sining pondered for a mont and glanced at her right index finger before asking tentatively, “Can I change the category of the act?”
Xu Yating was taken aback: “That should be fine. What do you want to change it to?”
“It’s still a solo act, but not singing, dancing, or codic sketches.”
Huo Sining deliberately played coy with a smile.
Xu Yating looked skeptically at Huo Sining: “Not singing, dancing, or codic sketches?”
Besides those, what other acts could be perford solo? Perhaps a solo instruntal performance?
Huo Sining smiled and said, “At the school’s welco party, besides singing, dancing, and codic sketches, it seems hard to find anything special, right? Since that’s the case, I’ll do sothing that no one has seen before.”
Xu Yating beca curious upon hearing this: “But such an act needs a title, right?”
