Chapter 1732: Chapter 1635: Conspiracy
Su Lingxue was dragged into the backstage dressing room by Huang Jingwen, but Shangguan Zhuo noticed that as Huang Jingwen walked into the dressing room, her eyes fell on Huo Sining and Xie Yuxing, filled with sarcasm.
Although Huang Jingwen quickly withdrew her strange gaze, Shangguan Zhuo still caught it.
"It seems this matter can’t be resolved peacefully. This Huang Jingwen is not easy to deal with and might resort to tricks behind the scenes. I think you should be careful."
Shangguan Zhuo, being from Huan Rui, was well aware of the nature of Su Lingxue’s manager, Huang Jingwen. He clearly saw that look in Huang Jingwen’s eyes before she left, and he knew that with Huang Jingwen and Su Lingxue’s personalities, they would definitely not let this go.
Huo Sining shrugged and smiled indifferently, "Putting aside whether she really has the ability to ruin , even if she tries to trip
up, it might not necessarily harm ."
She hadn’t been through little in the past two years, so why would she fear a small manager’s petty tricks? Huo Sining couldn’t help but let out a cold smile, taking a light sip of her coffee, her eyes full of confidence and flamboyance:
"If she really wants to deal with , let her co. I’m actually bored with the long filming schedule. If soone wants to add so drama to my life, it might be quite interesting!"
Back in the dressing room, Su Lingxue was beside herself with anger. Qimi, the assistant, brought Huo Sining a cup of hot coffee, but Su Lingxue knocked it to the ground in a huff and snarled at Qimi, "Can’t you see the situation? Drinking coffee at a ti like this, I’m already full of anger!"
A cup of boiling coffee spilled over Qimi’s hands, turning them red and causing her to tremble involuntarily. Being scolded like that by Su Lingxue, she couldn’t help but lower her head, hiding her expression, unreadable.
"Is it worth getting so worked up over? No matter how capable Huo Sining is, she’s still a newcor in this circle. She didn’t even bring an assistant with her. How hard can it be to put her in her place?"
Huang Jingwen patted Qimi’s shoulder for comfort and turned to remind Su Lingxue, "Huo Sining is an official person. The officials value reputation above all else, so just focus on that."
Su Lingxue paused at Huang Jingwen’s words, instinctively turning to look at her with a cunning gaze, seemingly enlightened: "You an?"
A cold gleam flashed in Huang Jingwen’s eyes as she glanced at Qimi before smiling, "That’s what I an. You don’t need to act personally; just give it a little push at the right ti."
Su Lingxue felt a surge of joy, her lips curling into a smile.
Contrary to Huang Jingwen’s thinking, Huang Jingwen only intended to vent so anger for her, just to ss with Huo Sining a bit.
But Su Lingxue had other plans.
If she was going to do it, she wouldn’t waste such an opportunity.
What did Huo Sining have that she didn’t? How could this woman marry into a powerful family, hold vast wealth, have a legion of fans, and even snag a lead role without an audition, straight from under her nose?
Su Lingxue was deeply envious and jealous of Huo Sining, her mind twisted by it. Since Huang Jingwen agreed to act on her behalf, how could she possibly let Huo Sining off so easily?
If they were going to play, then it should be big. She wanted Huo Sining to fall from grace, to fall from the clouds, destroyed in one move, never to rise again!
So won are like that; if they can’t live well, they can’t stand seeing others live well either. Terrible jealousy makes them lose all humanity and limits, leading them to do crazy things.
Even Huang Jingwen didn’t foresee this; she tried to help Su Lingxue vent her frustrations, risking being discovered herself, only to find that Su Lingxue had hidden her own sches, almost dragging her into the storm.
Huo Sining appeared at ease within the crew, but she had already taken note of Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen. Upon returning to her hotel, she phoned Gu Xu, recounting everything that had happened with the crew.
Gu Xu was quite disenchanted with the entertainnt industry, but since his wife wanted to play a part in it, he supported her. Hearing that soone in the crew was targeting his wife, his first thought was to blacklist them.
"With such poor character, keeping them in the industry is just a bad influence on the next generation. Just have Sister-in-law communicate this to those above to get them blacklisted; why waste the energy?"
Gu Xu comnted absent-mindedly.
Huo Sining couldn’t help but chuckle, "Please stop with that. Can’t you suggest sothing more feasible? Although she was the one who spoke out of turn, she hasn’t actually done anything outrageous yet. Without evidence, we can’t just blackball her. That would be sothing, wouldn’t it? The PR Departnt isn’t run by our family, and if word got out, wouldn’t that be direct evidence of defamation against us? This isn’t going to work!"
Hearing Huo Sining’s words, Gu Xu understood that his wife didn’t want him to use the Gu Family’s influence, so he helplessly thought of other solutions.
"If you don’t want to play dirty, you can only confront her head-on. But it’s hard to defend against soone who’s lurking in the shadows. Who knows when she’ll pull sothing? Malice like this is difficult to guard against; if she’s scheming behind your back, you can’t watch everything at once."
Gu Xu wanted to remind his wife, but he also knew she wasn’t one for being ruthless. She wouldn’t retaliate unless provoked, so she wasn’t one to initiate trouble.
Knowing his wife was kind-hearted, as her husband, he couldn’t allow outsiders to bully her. Although he couldn’t be at the film set himself to protect her, he also couldn’t let others hurt Huo Sining.
After hanging up the phone with his wife, Gu Xu’s mind spun quickly, soon forming an idea, and called Yu Fei:
"Your sister-in-law has encountered a bit of trouble. Think of a way to plant a virus on that Su Lingxue or her manager’s computer or phone to monitor that woman’s communication devices."
Yu Fei had great respect for Huo Sining. Since the National Museum incident, this youngster found his captain’s wife very mysterious. After more interactions with Huo Sining, Yu Fei found her even more unfathomable.
The stronger Huo Sining’s abilities appeared, the more admiration Yu Fei had for her. So when he heard from Gu Xu that Huo Sining was in trouble, he agreed almost without thinking, just shy of pounding his chest in assurance.
