Chapter 1563: Chapter 1547: Feng Shui Master
Mr. Huang glanced at Gu Xu and Qibao before finally speaking: "I don’t have a trump card, but I can decipher this Bagua code for you."
Mr. Huang reached out and pointed at the Taiji Rotating Wheel behind Huo Sining, a confident smile on his face.
Huo Sining was taken aback: "You can decipher it?"
Mr. Huang’s face revealed a faint smile: "Fuxi sits on a square altar, listening to the winds from eight directions, thus he created the Bagua. The Bagua Chart can be used to divine fortune and misfortune, ward off evil and calamity, and also to design traps and formations. Coincidentally, my specialty is as a Feng Shui Master. Although I’m not exceptionally skilled in Bagua, few Bagua Charts can truly stump ."
A light bulb went off in Huo Sining’s mind as she suddenly rembered the ti in Xianyang, when she and Qibao followed the Oil Rat’s group into Yunling. Outside that ancient tomb, a Tomb Robber ntioned that Mr. Huang was a formidable Feng Shui Master and had even eaten the dead.
However, Mr. Huang abruptly suggested collaborating with her, which made Huo Sining sowhat skeptical. She exchanged a look with Gu Xu, both feeling a lack of trust in the man.
Huo Sining coldly looked at him: "Why should I trust you? How do you prove you’re not in cahoots with that Oil Rat and Chang?"
Huo Sining’s suspicion wasn’t unfounded. They had followed closely behind the third granduncle to reach this hillside. Logically, with Qibao leading the way, they should not have been much slower than the Oil Rat and his group. So why hadn’t they seen them?
Moreover, if Mr. Huang and his group really saw the Oil Rat’s team enter the chanism, why hadn’t they followed suit?
It’s possible that this man and Mr. Gao are actually working together, hiding in the nearby woods, possibly to keep watch for those who entered the chanism.
Now seeing Huo Sining and her group catching up, Mr. Huang intentionally revealed himself, pretending to expose his position, and then used the excuse of proposing a collaboration. Once inside the chanism, he’d intentionally lead them into danger, thereby putting them at risk.
It’s no wonder Huo Sining overthought the situation. Ever since being duped by the Oil Rat once, she couldn’t trust these tomb robbers, always feeling they were too cunning and deceitful, making it wise to stay on guard.
Detecting Huo Sining’s suspicion, Mr. Huang involuntarily let out a thin, cold smile:
"Since Miss Huo has asked so directly, we might as well be frank. I ca here with Miss Yue specifically for the engravings on that skeleton. The engravings ntioned that sothing is hidden within the Miao Village Sacrificial Forest. That sothing is the very item we’ve sought through countless tombs and excavation holes, which is why we hurried here without delay."
"But unfortunately, the Oil Rat and another man nad Gao also found their way here and entered the mountain structure before we did."
"We don’t have a map of the underground tombs and didn’t dare act rashly. However, I recall Miss Huo has considerable experience with Kanyu in ancient tombs. She once sketched the structure of the Underground Palace in Yunling by hand. After entering the chanism, I believe Miss Huo could lead us so that we aren’t trapped inside the mountain structure. That’s why I proposed a collaboration with you."
"I want that thing, you want to catch the Oil Rat and Mr. Gao. We can work together. When the ti cos, I get what I’m looking for, and you capture the Oil Rat and Mr. Gao. That seems fair."
Huo Sining was montarily stunned.
She had always been suspicious. Every ti she encountered Mr. Huang, her father, and that Fujiwara Seiho in undeveloped tombs, these individuals took nothing from the tomb, showing complete disregard for the underground treasures and jade, which clearly indicated they weren’t after wealth.
This left Huo Sining puzzled. Why were these people going through such ticulously plotted efforts to loot tombs so brazenly in the country? What exactly were they searching for?
"What are you looking for?" Huo Sining instinctively blurted out.
Mr. Huang’s expression suddenly darkened, and a chilling aura of killing intent emanated from him: "That’s none of Miss Huo’s business, is it? We have different goals and don’t interfere with each other. I hope Miss Huo can refrain from probing. Curiosity killed the cat, so Miss Huo, it would be best to pretend to know nothing!"
After asking, Huo Sining realized she had been too obvious. If she truly wanted to know, she could quietly investigate in secret or use the Heavenly Eye to spy on the secret in the tomb later, without having to ask so overtly.
After Mr. Huang’s lecture, Huo Sining involuntarily displayed slight awkwardness on her face. To cover the awkwardness, she let out two dry laughs and switched topics:
"Earlier in the Magic Capital’s ancient tomb, I saw you with Mr. Python. Why didn’t you bring him this ti?"
Upon Huo Sining ntioning Mr. Python, Miss Yue’s face suddenly changed, her gaze swept across Huo Sining like a probe. After a few seconds, she finally spoke:
"After parting ways with us at the ancient tomb in Magic Capital, Mr. Python sent us a ssage of safety and then lost contact. We haven’t been able to reach him."
Huo Sining was taken aback by the words and instinctively retorted: "How is that possible? He recently..."
Halfway through her words, Huo Sining suddenly realized it was inappropriate and hurriedly closed her mouth.
Gu Xu, in front of the whole world, had proposed to her at the WGC awards ceremony. Mr. Liang clearly saw the broadcast and, although his location was unknown, he still sent her a congratulatory ssage. Despite Mr. Liang’s lukewarm feelings about this future son-in-law, he was still glad soone would finally look after his daughter. His implication was that it was better than nothing.
Gu Xu wasn’t aware of Mr. Liang’s existence, and Huo Sining hadn’t shown him the ssage. Yet, every ti she thought of Mr. Liang’s sour tone in the ssage, she found it amusing.
Hearing Miss Yue ntion being out of contact with Mr. Liang, Huo Sining instinctively retorted. Halfway through her retort, she realized that if she continued, it might arouse suspicion from Miss Yue and Mr. Huang.
Mr. Liang went as far as faking his death to conceal his identity, indicating he didn’t want his identity exposed. If she had recklessly spoken out, Miss Yue and Mr. Huang weren’t fools. They might begin to question how she had Mr. Liang’s contact information and possibly trace it back to Liang Ruining, ultimately exposing Mr. Liang’s identity.
This train of thought caused Huo Sining’s gaze to beco slightly wary. Although she still knew nothing about this father, she couldn’t let Mr. Liang be endangered because of her. That was absolutely not what Huo Sining wanted to see.
