498: Chapter 498 The Setup

He was none other than the Black Bracelet player who had earlier set up caras on the ship and whom Xu Huo had seen in the restaurant.

His clothes were already soaked with blood, his shoes and face covered in it, like a butcher walking out of a slaughterhouse.

At this mont, he was glaring at several huddled Red Bracelets, his eyes nearly turning red with intensity.

The Red Bracelets were no fools; sensing his aggressive deanor, they knew he was coming for them.

Kicking aside the Anthropomorphic Doll curled up on the ground, they moved toward him.

“His right hand is injured,” one of the Red Bracelets scanned him, quickly focusing on his right arm.

The Black Bracelet’s expression didn’t change as he glanced at “Xu Huo” on the ground and charged straight at the Red Bracelets ahead.

The focused Red Bracelet cautiously stepped back, throwing sothing that resembled a magician’s cloth, aiming to wrap it around the Black Bracelet player, but he missed because the Black Bracelet had employed a feint.

He had only made a false lunge to distract them while aiming for the player on his right—Choosing hand-to-hand combat with the Red Bracelet player.

As they engaged, the Red Bracelet player exchanged blows with the Black Bracelet, and although the Black Bracelet was pushed back, several invisible forces sliced the Red Bracelet’s arm from the gaps between his fingers to his elbow—a literal cutting open.

Now the hand hung open like a chicken’s claw, blood pouring out like it cost nothing.

“This kid plays dirty!

Kill him!” the Red Bracelet shouted while retreating and reaching for a potion.

However, before he could consu it, the Black Bracelet threw a frisbee.

It flew past everyone and landed behind the Red Bracelets.

The Black Bracelet then moved with an elusive speed, breaking through their encirclent to the spot where the frisbee had landed while simultaneously slashing the necks of two Red Bracelets!

No one saw his movents clearly.

The two Red Bracelets, acting on instinct, dodged, resulting in non-fatal cuts to their necks.

But the Red Bracelet with the injured hand wasn’t so lucky.

The Black Bracelet charged at him and slapped his face, cutting a perfectly intact head into several pieces along his fingers.

The Red Bracelet died so quickly that others at the scene couldn’t discern how the Black Bracelet had killed him, but they unanimously chose to maintain distance.

From the previous engagents, they figured greater distance ant less risk of being touched and potentially reduced danger.

The two Red Bracelets with neck injuries hadn’t touched the Black Bracelet and sensing they were up against a tough opponent, started retreating in different directions.

The Anthropomorphic Doll hadn’t left.

Seeing one of the Red Bracelets retreating towards it, it lifted a nearby table and smashed it, then ran off.

Although the person wasn’t hit, the Red Bracelet’s face was sared with dirty bits of organ, utterly foul-slling.

Wiping his face, he gave chase to the Anthropomorphic Doll without a second word.

Just as the Anthropomorphic Doll was happily running away, a wall ahead suddenly burst open; the Black Bracelet Noble who had previously gone up to the fourth floor reerged, holding a military saber, and cut it into two pieces from a distance.

The Anthropomorphic Doll fell to the ground, the Black Bracelet took out a powder box-like object and blew into it.

The powder stuck to the prop, which no longer had the strength to stand up again, and in a few seconds, he swept the powder back into the box which then displayed several percentages and arrow symbols indicating up, down, left, and right.

The Black Bracelet took only a glance before turning and offering a cold smile to the distant micro caras.

This was how he had been found?

No sooner had the thought crossed Xu Huo’s mind than the nearby elevator suddenly sprung to life: soone was moving from the fifth to the sixth floor!

He ducked into “Ergency Shelter No.

101,” and of course the props were placed within the “Number Grid” area.

The Noble and the Red Bracelet lured by the Anthropomorphic Doll ca up from the elevator, arriving together.

The Black Bracelet, analyzing the data on the prop, imdiately found the shelter carelessly left out in the open.

“The most dangerous place is the safest, that move is quite smart.

Others might mistake it for a decorative piece on the ship,” said the Black Bracelet as he waved his hand, and the fragnted seaweed on the ground shot towards the shelter like crazy.

After a series of “ding, ding, ding” sounds, not even a small mark was left on the shelter, let alone breaking the prop and injuring the person inside.

So, he took out a military knife and swung it through the air towards the shelter, but this ti it was equally ineffective.

“Think hiding in there will do you any good?” The Black Bracelet reached out both hands towards the shelter and tried to lift it with force, but after two attempts, he was unsuccessful— he couldn’t lift this shelter.

If the shelter could be easily lifted once it was on the ground, it wouldn’t be known as a prop that could withstand the force of a nuclear blast.

Having no way to deal with the shelter, the Black Bracelet gestured for the Red Bracelet to check it out.

The Red Bracelet was quite straightforward.

Taking out a cutting drill head, he walked towards the shelter.

He jabbed at the exterior wall of the shelter, but it was ineffective.

Then, he circled half around the shelter and after a mont, said from a blind spot in the Black Bracelet’s field of vision, “Mr.

Jiang, there’s a door here!”

Hearing there was a door, Jiang Feng didn’t hesitate and imdiately walked over, but as soon as he rounded towards the direction of the shelter door, his feet got stuck to the ground.

Looking down, he saw a tile marked with the number “2” under his feet, while the Red Bracelet was standing on a “5”.

“Mr.

Jiang, don’t bla .

I only stepped on the path because I was clearing mines for you,” said the Red Bracelet without a hint of guilt.

Jiang Feng didn’t have the luxury to settle scores with him.

After finding he couldn’t move out of the grid, he quickly used “Raindrop Stone Piercing” to form a protective circle around himself.

However, just as his curtain of rain ford, Xu Huo also erged from the shelter.

Protected by “Absolute Safety Distance,” he easily passed through the protective circle and swept his sword towards Jiang Feng’s neck!

Jiang Feng was quick to react, drawing a line with his right hand to intercept and kill, while placing a balloon in front of himself.

The line was a Butcher’s Barrier, and the balloon could make a person float.

At such close range and in such a short amount of ti, even if Xu Huo was safe and breached the first defense, he would have a hard ti dodging the balloon.

And if Xu Huo was suspended in air, Jiang Feng would have his chance.

“Bang!” The Sword Qi didn’t cut through Jiang Feng’s neck but instead struck an invisible barrier.

Of course, Xu Huo didn’t expect to kill his opponent with just one strike.

He didn’t cross the line but used the trait “Frequent Movent” to get to his right side and shot several anesthetic darts from the Note Launcher.

The first few darts were blocked by the invisible barrier, but the last one pierced through—not because the barrier failed to stop it, but because that layer of protection had limited area coverage!

Seizing the opportunity, Xu Huo drew his Energy Gun and fired repeatedly.

Four out of five shots were neutralized by the barrier, with bullets powerful enough to match hand grenades creating only a vortex on the barrier without doing greater damage.

However, the one shot that got through hit Jiang Feng in the thigh.
