407: Chapter 407: A Bountiful Harvest of Tools

After a fruitless search, Xu Huo changed his strategy, fully manifesting his spiritual world and adding many more structures on top of the existing foundation.

As he reinforced his spiritual world again and again, the original structure of the book tower beca increasingly complex, and its area kept expanding.

The strength and size of the spiritual world both indicate the ntal fortitude of the person who created it: the stronger the evolution, the larger the spiritual world’s area will be, and correspondingly, the easier it is to craft various complex sceneries.

Once Xu Huo had expanded the existing area by threefold, he finally started to feel exhausted, and thus stopped focusing on its size but began to manipulate the arrangents within the booktower.

Doors and books were symbols of himself, while the dagger, playing cards, and black thin pieces represented each of his three other personalities; he controlled this spiritual world, hence the abundance of books, which could be real or fake.

However, since he had been successful in creating a picture fra before, he could certainly put so effort into the books as well.

Appearing casually in a room, he reached out to pull a book from the shelf and pressed lightly on the cover; the pages automatically flipped open, stopping at a certain page and gradually a clear image erged from within.

In just a few seconds, an urban landscape had appeared on the paper, where the flowers and trees swayed as if they were alive.

After perfecting this drawing, Xu Huo plunged his hand into it, but it didn’t enter another illusory world as he had hoped, instead his hand ca out from the back of the book.

Manifesting a landscape outside the spiritual world should represent yet another elevation.

He let go, and as the book hit the ground it expanded into a picture fra.

He strode into it and was once again faced with a black zipper.

The massive zipper symbolized the entrance to Mada Butterfly’s spiritual world; he paused briefly before starting to shuttle back and forth through these portals again.

About an hour later, upon finding a golden zipper, the monotonous scene finally changed.

“Click!

Click-click-click!” The golden zipper opened up a vertical pupil; beyond it was no longer an empty space, but rather a huge wall of tal gears, too large to be completely taken in at one glance.

Round, square, and even irregular polygon gears shed together, forming a large, moving door-wall from bottom to top.

By their shapes, these gears shouldn’t be able to sh completely, but in this wall, they rotated in orderly fashion.

Xu Huo tried to open a door on these gears but as he approached, the gears would suddenly change their rotation trajectory at a certain point, causing the entire wall’s speed of operation to change, like a complex combination lock, and even shredding one of his doors.

Just as he was preparing to continue trying, the scenery before his eyes suddenly changed back to the grand hall of Rose Castle; Mr.

Dong was still there, but Mada Butterfly was gone.

“Those two corpses have been dealt with, and this was found on one of them,” Mr.

Dong handed over a badge, which bore the black-and-white dual-color pattern symbolic of the Zone 011 Governnt.

The Wooden Sword Player had a governnt badge on him?

Clutching the badge, Xu Huo went back to his room and took out all the belongings of the Wooden Sword Player.

In addition to props and potion, he found an operational manual for the Zone 011 Governnt field staff and two sets of uniforms, not from the Enforcent Departnt, but special uniforms specific to the municipal governnt’s police division.

Xu Huo had always thought that the people hunting him were either players from the Lower City district or internal traitors of Rongxin Group; he hadn’t anticipated involvent from the municipal governnt.

Being followed imdiately upon leaving the Lower City district suggested that this person might have been in that small courtyard at the ti.

Was it the buyer or the seller?

Does he represent himself or the municipal governnt?

If he was representing the city hall, and the person had been missing for so long without any new players from city hall coming after him, then even if initially only the Wooden Sword Player had been watching him using a special thod, their subsequent encounter in the mall wasn’t a secret at all.

It wouldn’t have been hard for the city hall to find him if they wanted to.

However, on the day of the transaction with Deng Xuan, only a retired employee originally from Rongxin Group had followed him.

But sotis, players enter instances under special conditions, which isn’t strange in Zone 011, unless at that ti there was indeed only the Wooden Sword Player themselves; otherwise, there must have been another reason for the others not to take action.

Xu Huo’s gaze lingered on the work manual for a few seconds before shifting to the props beside it.

In addition to the previously encountered “Undead Wooden Sword” that could sprout fresh flowers and vines, the amber “Lant of the Plants”, the glass protection do “Oxygen Supply”, the transparent raincoat “Invisible Protection”, and the golf ball-sized “Unstoppable Direct Hit”, as well as the “Do Not Disturb” sign that could be stuck on doors, there were also the “True Wooden Man”, “Actor’s Mask”, “Freshly Scented Dried Flowers”, “Visible or Invisible”, and “Dating Artifact”.

Among these, “Lant of the Plants” and “Actor’s Mask” were special items.

“Lant of the Plants” was a type of indiscriminate sonic wave attack item that could temporarily cause deafness and blindness.

If effective, it could even cause unconsciousness.

“Actor’s Mask” was an item that could change one’s appearance.

However, it could only fix three faces, and once set, the owner could only switch between these three faces until it changed hands.

“Undead Wooden Sword”, “True Wooden Man”, and “Visible or Invisible” were Rank-C items.

“Undead Wooden Sword” was actually just a wooden sword that could automatically grow plants under the influence of its features.

It was a fitting item, as the Wooden Sword Player’s special ability was related to plants, thus they found it very easy to use; for Xu Huo, however, it was of little value.

“True Wooden Man” was a palm-sized wooden figure that could stiffen the target for three seconds when stuck onto them.

This item had been taken out by the Wooden Sword Player but had not co into play before it was stolen by the Gluttonous Snake Prop; Xu Huo had only seen it disappear upon hitting the ground and didn’t pay much attention to it.

It wasn’t until the previous day while checking the items stolen from Mada Butterfly that he realized the wooden figure was also in the belly of the Gluttonous Snake.

“Visible or Invisible” was a floral stamp that could be applied to any object including people.

The pattern stamped was invisible and could only be seen after it was applied to a person, making it a marker prop with very high safety factors.

The rest were Level D items.

“Oxygen Supply” allowed one to breathe in harsh environnts.

“Invisible Protection” could protect against fire and freezing and wasn’t easily corroded.

“Unstoppable Direct Hit” would automatically fly and strike the target’s face as long as it was aid correctly, even if the thrower’s aim was poor.

“Do Not Disturb” worked as its na implied, making people unconsciously overlook it.

“Freshly Scented Dried Flowers” could continuously release a fresh floral scent for twenty-four hours and, to so extent, could counteract odors unbearable to humans.

“Dating Artifact” was a sachet of vanilla that, when carried, could make one’s body odor fresh.

Besides these, there were also more than thirteen million White Notes and a large amount of potions, along with so illegal contraband.
