391: Chapter 391: A Completely Renewed Castle
Xu Huo followed suit, and at this mont, the hidden door opposite Shi Youzhi’s office opened.
Ai Jia waved him in, where other base mbers that he had seen before were present, except for She Ping.
There was the other female team mber Cai Xiangxiang and a short man Sun Chuan, who were the ones using the bubble machine and pouring black water in the desert the day before.
Sun Chuan was fairly lively, grinning at Xu Huo, “There’s a good show to watch.”
The ‘good show’ they spoke of was unfolding in the room across.
The projector faithfully transmitted the scene from there to this side.
Ran Ying was the first to speak, “Captain Shi, one should be reasonable in their dealings.
Although we don’t interact much on a regular basis, we haven’t had any conflicts, so why on earth would you inexplicably capture my people?”
“Have I captured anyone?” Shi Youzhi’s deanor remained calm.
“Didn’t that kid duck into the copy as soon as he saw ?
The person isn’t even in my hands, and here you are, Captain Ran, charging over to accuse .
Does the Enforcent Departnt have nothing better to do each day?”
Ran Ying huffed, “Of course, I know you haven’t caught anyone.
I’m here to ask why you targeted people from the Enforcent Departnt, and why you cut off our communications.
What, looking for trouble?”
“The people from the Enforcent Departnt aren’t behaving themselves,” Shi Youzhi said coldly, eyeing her.
“I already warned you before to keep the Enforcent Departnt’s people away from the vicinity of the base; you never know when I might be in a bad mood and decide to deal with a couple of them.”
“Keeping an eye on the base and putting obstacles in the station repairs, Ran Ying, are you trying to have the Ga Governnt Base withdraw from Zone 011?”
Upon hearing this, Ran Ying’s expression darkened, and she stared at him for a long ti without speaking.
“What would be the consequence if the base withdrew from Zone 011?” Xu Huo asked the other team mbers.
“The Ga Governnt’s establishnt of a base in a gaming district signifies a high degree of approval for that district.
Typically, cities with a ga base tend to be more stable, and the chances of high-level players attacking the city are sowhat lower,” She Ping explained.
Even though the Zone 011 Governnt and the Ga Base do not interfere with each other, the presence of the Ga Governnt implies that so gaming districts are definitely managed by it.
This suggests the Ga Governnt has policies and asures to deal with players.
High-level players attacking the Ga Governnt would certainly provoke retaliation from the ga, and with technological advancent, cities with a ga base presence are relatively more stable.
This is very important for the growth of a gaming district.
But behind this also lies an invisible threat: the Dinsional Rift ga’s control over its players.
Gaming districts and players may appear powerful but if the Ga Governnt really wanted to destroy a district, it’s not impossible.
So challenging the Ga Governnt isn’t just a matter of courage for a gaming district.
Cheng Bing ca out to diate, “Station repairs are not under our Enforcent Departnt’s jurisdiction.
Isn’t Captain Shi taking his anger out on the wrong people?”
Shi Youzhi was also rather nonchalant, “This is an internal coordination issue within your Zone 011 Governnt, none of my concern.
Otherwise, just give up repairing the station, since no tickets will be issued for the stations that are closed before repairs are completed.
Zone 011 having fewer players isn’t a bad thing.”
At this point, Ran Ying seed to have regained her composure, her face stern as she said, “Rest assured, when I return I will negotiate with the other departnts to ensure Captain Shi’s affairs are not delayed.”
“That would certainly be good.”
“But Captain Shi should also rember, this is Zone 011.
Our players are not ones you can simply ss with whenever you like.
If there is a next ti, don’t bla
for turning hostile,” Ran Ying warned.
“There are many ways to make a person disappear, and I don’t believe the Ga Governnt would close down a base over one person.”
“If everyone just did their own jobs properly, there wouldn’t be so much needless confrontation,” Shi Youzhi shot back.
Ran Ying left with a flourish, and Shi Youzhi stood in the room for two seconds before walking out.
Sun Chuan and Cai Xiangxiang hurriedly shut off the projector and, in unison with the others, turned their backs as if to pretend they were busy.
The hidden door opened, and Shi Youzhi stood there with a stern face, not in a hurry to find fault with his team mbers but instead looking at Xu Huo, “You got nothing better to do?”
Xu Huo smiled and walked away, the closing hidden door gradually cutting off the sounds from the room.
After leaving the base, he didn’t rush to find Deng Xuan but returned to tidy up the two surveillance points, erasing his own traces before donning the Clown Suit and setting off for the Ancient City District, riding intermittently along the way.
The streets, like a spider’s web in the Lower City district, were not suitable for re-entering, so Xu Huo didn’t get too close.
Deng Xuan often moved about outside, and there was a chance to encounter him there.
It took nearly two hours of wandering nearby before he ran into soone.
Deng Xuan and two other companions, slightly drunk, were arm in arm, discussing where to go to relax.
Xu Huo approached and offered them a sticker flyer, but they dismissed it brusquely.
Glancing at the three, Xu Huo silently withdrew his hand and walked past them.
After purchasing so food and water from a vending machine, he settled into a paid single-person rest room and sat contemplating his next move while watching the flying vehicles outside.
Deng Xuan no longer held any value; even if sothing were to happen, his chances of being involved were slim.
The harbor news might not be genuine, so if he wanted to further gather information, he would have to head to the station area.
Pulling out his communication device, he browsed recent hot news from the Base City.
Three out of ten articles ntioned a na — Mada Butterfly.
Mada Butterfly…
Xu Huo’s scrolling finger paused for a mont at the image of a woman wearing a Butterfly Mask before more information about Mada Butterfly popped up.
Beyond a vague introduction to her identity, most of it was gossip, mainly about how soon after arriving in Zone 011 she beca closely associated with high-level individuals, a favorite among many; and her notoriety stemd from her flirtatious nature.
“…According to reliable information, Mada Butterfly will visit Rose Castle with Duke Tal this afternoon…”
Xu Huo turned off his communication device, quickly ate the remaining food, hailed a car and headed for Rose Castle.
The castle was the sa as before, with roses blooming all around.
The area that had burned down was completely restored, the front door had been refurbished, and the garden was set with tables and chairs, looking brand new.
Other than Mr.
Dong, new servants had been added.
“You have returned.” As Xu Huo appeared at the front door of the castle, Mr.
Dong was imdiately there waiting, as if certain of his return.
He took Xu Huo’s coat once again and said, “Your bedroom has been redecorated.
I will bring your coat and umbrella to your room.”
That eerie feeling surfaced again, and Xu Huo inquired, “Is the castle hosting guests this afternoon?”
“Duke Tal and Mada Butterfly,” Mr.
Dong replied, handing him a damp towel provided by a servant.
“Duke Tal is a friend of Mr.
He Pu, and Mr.
He Pu acquired his baron title with his assistance.
He called earlier to say he wished to pay his respects to Mr.
He Pu.”
