Capítulo 2258: Chapter 2258: A Unique thod of mory
The toilet blocked the view, and what followed was the opponent’s prop dagger carried with them. Although it couldn’t exert special effects, the prop itself was made of special materials, much more effective than ordinary tools and not easily damaged. In tis when everyone lost their personal panels, having one or two weapons was a significant advantage.
Xu Huo avoided this series of attacks, moved to the person’s back, and kicked them out of the room.
The player rolled on the ground, and taking advantage of lowering their body, attacked Xu Huo’s lower body. However, before their knife could touch Xu Huo, their palm was pierced through by a Materialized Item. The person retreated in pain, but didn’t get a chance to breathe, as another prop item penetrated from the back of their head to their forehead.
The first person was dead.
Next, Xu Huo turned a corner and opened the second door.
After killing three people in succession, the fourth player probably realized they were not good at close combat. After a few feigned moves, they fled along the corridor.
Xu Huo didn’t use the Space Portal and wanted to see if there was a penalty for prisoners leaving the room during the day. However, the person hadn’t escaped far before running into another “Prison Guard” who had just opened the door.
This “Prison Guard” had undergone Secondary Evolution, with particularly strong physical abilities. The first punch directly broke that player’s arm bone. The sound of a painful scream abruptly stopped as the person’s neck was snapped by the “Prison Guard”.
The “Prison Guard,” carrying the corpse, expressed so doubt, “Just like that? Dead so easily?”
While talking, he threw the corpse to the side, nodded at Xu Huo as a form of greeting, then went in another direction.
The “Prison Guard” could cooperate or choose not to. After killing a few more people, Xu Huo encountered a female player he had t earlier. Her luck hadn’t been very good; she had originally picked soone who looked small to attack, but unexpectedly, they were a Cannibal Player with strength above average players, and during the fight, nearly bit through her neck.
Without a Potion, her wounds healed very slowly, and after the female player struggled to kill her opponent, she had no choice but to sit down and rest.
It was at this mont that she saw Xu Huo. After initial wariness, she greeted him warmly and invited Xu Huo to hunt the prisoners together.
“That’s the consequence of not paying much attention to training in combat techniques usually.” The female player used so torn-off clothing to wrap her neck and said to Xu Huo, “If I partner with you, I’m afraid I’ll hold you back.”
Xu Huo didn’t leave; instead, he inquired about her experiences before entering the one-third ga.
The female player had been in the instance for ten days. “I usually observe the situation first after entering an instance, not rushing to take action. After knowing the existence of the one-third ga, I try to avoid possible ga triggers.”
“Did you kill any wanted felons?” Xu Huo asked.
“Of course, I did,” The female player paused before saying, “I bought a list of wanted felons on the Collection of Information Terminal and killed according to it.”
“Although there are many false ssages on the Collection of Information Terminal, I’ve always had a bit of luck in inexplicable places. So, I bought three lists, and when I found soone on one of them, they really were a wanted felon.”
“Did you kill ordinary people?” Xu Huo raised an eyebrow. According to his speculation, Bu Liu City shouldn’t have many new felons after Municipal Governnt’s mismanagent. If the list was genuine, it should be from before, not involving many players.
The female player nodded, “Indeed, I initially thought this person was from the Municipal Governnt, but unexpectedly, they were just an ordinary person, and the price wasn’t high.”
She stopped here, looking at Xu Huo, “When we get out, we might lose our mory. What use is it to tell you now?”
“Maybe if we’re lucky, we’ll just forget what happened in the ga,” Xu Huo gazed at her, “Everyone has their unique way of rembering.”
The ga prohibited them from placing any marks in their luggage, and the recording devices they carried ceased working upon entry. Presumably, engraving anything about the ga onto their bodies would also be punished, but that didn’t an communication was entirely impossible.
The female player thought for a mont, then tossed a button from her inner pocket to Xu Huo, “Just a regular button, one that most people wouldn’t value. But it’s one my husband polished for ; the numbers on it denote my area. I’m afraid I’ll forget my unlock area when leaving the ga, so I marked it.”
Xu Huo’s thod was much more straightforward and brutal. He pulled a handwritten card from his pocket and handed it over.
“You actually brought paper with writing on it… does that work?” The female player hesitated and asked, “You don’t also have a pen, do you?”
“Even if I did, I wouldn’t dare use it.” Xu Huo chuckled, “Would you dare write anything about the ga?”
The female player shook her head honestly.
“Players can’t band together inside the instance because they can’t trust each other entirely. Since the ga can’t be cracked, we can still cooperate outside in other instances.” Xu Huo said, “We can’t rely entirely on the ga; probably nobody wants to co here a second ti, right?”
Giving tokens equals exposing one’s identity, and players in the instance remain wary of each other, rarely doing so easily. But this wasn’t an issue for him.
“You’re the United Administrator,” the female player comnted while holding the card, “I knew you were different the mont I saw you. When we get out, you’ll have to shield !”
Xu Huo put the button back in his pocket, “If you dare to co, it’ll be fine.”
After that, there wasn’t much more to say. To ensure the female player gets out alive, it’s best she wins the ga. Simply forgetting the ga’s content is much better than forgetting everything altogether.
“How did you prioritize the three options when entering the ga?” He pondered and asked.
“Does it matter? We won’t rember anything when we exit.” The female player was puzzled.
“It’s just to satisfy my curiosity,” Xu Huo said.
“Now.” The female player touched her neck, “The past can’t be changed, the future can’t be predicted, only now can be felt tangibly. How about you? What’s most important to you?”
“The past.” Xu Huo answered, “A person’s past is part of their flesh and blood.”
The female player seed surprised but didn’t judge his choice, only saying, “You think very differently from most people.”
Xu Huo stood up, “Let’s go.”
Two people cooperating was much more convenient than one. “Prisoners” often considered fleeing once they saw two “Prison Guards” upon opening the door. Within half a morning, Xu Huo completed his goal, and the female player also killed five people.
“I wonder if these people’s props belong to us.” The female player was a bit excited, “If they do, that ans striking it rich!”
“We are currently disconnected from the Dinsional Rift; the ga can’t determine who killed the players, so how can we inherit the loot?” Xu Huo grabbed a handful of props from a small bag and handed it to her, “Items carried with you should be usable outside.”
