215: Chapter 215: Conversation with Dai Wenqian

Dai Wenqian laughed, turned on his phone’s flashlight, and shone it on the ground, “I had considered it before, but I gave up on the idea.”

“We are all players from Zone 014, why kill each other and let outsiders benefit?”

“Besides, there are not many wise people like us, mostly just fools with a smidgeon of cunning, like Liu Tie.

Maybe one day in the future, we as players will reach a new height.”

“If that ti really cos, and we don’t have any worthy opponents, wouldn’t that be a pity?”

Xu Huo couldn’t help but laugh, “You’re not unaware that Zone 014 is just a small corner in the gaming world.”

“Of course, I know that,” Dai Wenqian said.

“But now, isn’t Zone 014 not fully integrated into the gaming world?

In other words, we are still in the newbie protection period, just that we had bad luck and nearly got cut in half by a Super Prop.”

“But fortunately, the state reacted quickly, and with the injection of fresh blood, the situation is bound to change a lot.”

“You have a high opinion of official players,” Xu Huo said.

“Joining the national team is the wisest choice when no one has beco an advanced player,” Dai Wenqian spoke with great interest.

“Only with enough strength can you negotiate terms, but at the mont, no player or Player Organization can do that.”

“The state is recruiting players, going now would be the perfect timing, and the conditions are not bad,” Xu Huo paused, “why bother mixing with people like Zheng Liang.”

Dai Wenqian chuckled, “You and Zheng Liang have quite the feud, he clenches his teeth every ti he speaks of you.”

“Just so friction from our youth,” Xu Huo’s tone was very calm, “nothing as dramatic as life or death.

His greatest wish is probably just to give

a good beating.”

“How pathetic, he might not be able to fulfill that wish until you die,” Dai Wenqian shifted the topic back, “From what I know, your family is now protected by the state, you’re not planning to join the official Player Organization, are you?”

“Thinking of negotiating terms?”

Xu Huo’s gaze fixed on his face, and after two seconds, he said, “Possibly.”

Dai Wenqian’s expression carried a subtle mockery, “Everyone for themselves, is that not a given?

Afraid to even say it out loud?”

“I thought you were a man of culture,” Xu Huo replied lightly, “So things just lose their charm when stated outright.”

“It’s not about what the thing is, but whether it benefits ,” Dai Wenqian stated as if it were a given.

“If calling a deer a horse benefits , then it doesn’t matter.”

Xu Huo nodded knowingly, and as he walked past Dai Wenqian, he patted his shoulder, “Don’t worry, I won’t blabber to the official personnel.

You can boldly negotiate with them.”

After saying that, he walked away.

Dai Wenqian turned around, half his face shrouded in darkness facing Xu Huo.

Xu Huo didn’t look back.

Dai Wenqian did not truly intend to kill him—not because of the noble reasons he’d stated, but because he wasn’t certain he could manage it.

He was probably conserving his energy, trying to negotiate a good deal before joining the official Player Organization.

Using people like Gu Yu as stepping stones, he might even be able to take a few players with him.

Engaging with him recklessly clearly wouldn’t align with his interests.

“You’re back.” Gu Yu was waiting for them.

Seeing them return safely one after another, she sighed with relief.

Xu Huo had left first and Dai Wenqian had followed; she had worried the two might fight.

Looking around, Xu Huo suddenly said, “There are ten people missing.”

“Zhang Biao took away seven or eight people,” Gu Yu replied, “They left voluntarily.”

Xu Huo frowned slightly but didn’t say much.

The night passed quickly, and dawn arrived.

This was the last day in the ga, and although everyone was exhausted, their spirits were still fairly good.

After returning to the thirteenth floor, Xu Huo had Kang Hong connect the main switch of the electrical wires to the fifteenth floor, then went to collect water in containers and move it to both the thirteenth and fifteenth floors.

“Why are we doing this?” Even Kang Hong didn’t understand this ti.

“Just in case,” Xu Huo said.

“There are still quite a few mutated animals in the greenhouse behind us, and I’m worried that the Man-Eating Flower will make a path for them when it cos out.”

“We should definitely prepare for that,” Kang Hong imdiately said.

“We should also call back those outside.

What if they ss around and attract the mutated animals over here?”

“What are you talking about?” Zhang Biao and the Bald Head player returned with the others, each carrying so old bags.

Zhang Biao, with a dark expression, said, “We’re not idiots.

How could we knowingly run towards the greenhouse knowing there are mutated animals there?”

“Then what did you guys go do?” Jiang Yihua demanded.

“You haven’t rested since last night!”

“Of course we went to look for good stuff.” Zhang Biao opened one of the bags and overturned it, spilling out snacks like biscuits.

He swept a proud glance over Gu Yu and the others, “We found these outside the building.

Turns out the Man-Eating Flower put these things in a fixed spot.

Apart from other people’s backpacks, there were vending machines.

So of the food and drinks weren’t even expired, and I brought them all back.

Aren’t you all hungry?”

Hearing about food, the other non-players crowded around.

Soone picked up sothing to check, “It’s really not expired; this drink has a shelf life of ten years.”

“Ten years?

Can the drinks still be good?”

“Maybe the animals in the ga are different from our world,” said the person holding a drink, unable to resist twisting it open to take a sip, and joyfully said, “The taste is really good!”

A few more people grabbed so food and opened it to be greeted with a rich aroma, with no sign of spoilage.

“If we could take this technology out, wonder how much money it would make!”

“Still thinking about money, hurry up and eat.

There isn’t much of it anyway.”

The rest sward forth and divided up all the food and drink.

Zhang Biao and his group had obviously eaten their fill before returning.

He picked at his teeth with the corner of a packet, smilingly watching Dai Wenqian and Xu Huo, “You’re all tough players, you definitely don’t need to eat.”

“It’s not necessary,” Xu Huo said, smiling.

His smile carried a tolerance for those about to die.

Dai Wenqian didn’t react much, but his mood wasn’t great, and his eyes were gloomy.

Zhang Biao, feeling awkward under their gazes, muttered “Freaking nutcases” and turned to leave.

Gu Yu ca over with food and water, looking troubled, “You should eat sothing.

There’s still a day left; it’d be good to replenish so energy.”

Xu Huo declined her kind offer and took an Energy Capsule given by Jiang Yihua, which worked quite well.

Seeing this, Gu Yu didn’t insist anymore, set so snacks down for Dai Wenqian, and started to open a bag for herself.

Jiang Yihua, seeing Xu Huo wasn’t eating, also refrained despite salivating, but Xu Huo, noticing her eyes almost turning green, said, “If you want to eat, go ahead.

The food is fine.”

Jiang Yihua reluctantly turned her face away, “Am I afraid the food is poisoned?

I’m just standing by my principles!”

Xu Huo pointed to Da Zhi, who was tall but extrely weak, “He would want to eat.”

He had been in a weakened state ever since using a few Cards, likely due to a defect in his traits.
