Chapter 2129: Chapter 2129: Silencing Witnesses

Real-na reporting isn’t as simple as walking up to the Municipal Governnt hall and handing in a photo. After verifying the photos’ authenticity, Brother Luo and the others made hundreds of copies of them at once, along with so ambiguous photos of the Tian Family mbers coming and going. These they carried with them. When Fang Jing entered the Municipal Governnt Hall, if he didn’t contact them within twenty minutes, they planned to scatter the photos at the hall entrance—an area frequented by people handling governnt business or demanding responses to trivial issues ignored by the governnt.

"I fear the mont Fang Jing enters the Municipal Governnt Hall, the Tian Family will be alerted. Destroying evidence would be too easy for them," Brother Luo remarked. His primary goal was to force the Municipal Governnt to publicly investigate the Tian Family, though the results might turn up no evidence in the end.

"Too bad we can’t find the location," Brother Fu sighed with regret, "Otherwise, with these bodies, we could surely take a chunk out of the Tian Family!"

It may be unwise to throw eggs against stones, but they need others to see their courage.

The group agreed to enter the governnt hall the following morning. When the Municipal Governnt starts work, dia broadcasts will be live—a perfect opportunity.

Xu Huo had other matters to attend to, so after reaching a conclusion, he left first. However, after walking so distance, he suddenly turned back, realizing Brother Luo and the others were being watched.

It wasn’t Municipal Governnt players who approached them. They didn’t have permission to block public areas, so they kept a low profile, appearing to quietly try to take Brother Luo and his companions away.

Xu Huo crossed through space to their side, took Fang Jing away with him, and warned them they were being followed.

Familiar with Zone 008, Brother Luo and his companions quickly dispersed, disappearing into the crowd or buildings.

Whether they used Characteristics or Tickets to leave, the three instantly vanished, leaving Xu Huo as the sole target.

The city was scattered with Spatial Instrunts, and countless Spatial Artifacts, so with mutual interference, general Spatial Teleportation Devices didn’t function effectively. However, players who morized the city’s teleport routes could use Space Transmission Gates to achieve similar effects. Thus, within seconds of Xu Huo leaving, three players had given chase.

Noticing soone closing in from front, back, and the right, Xu Huo stopped using Spatial Power and instead stepped into the nearest transmission gate.

City transmission gates can be set to a specific destination or operate in random mode. Simply put, they work like public transportation: once entered, they can take you to the nearest gate at random. To prevent congestion, there’s a 3-5 second cooldown period after transmitting before they can be used again.

Thus, after exiting the first transmission gate, Xu Huo quickly entered another, ensuring that all ten nearby gates entered "cooldown ti." He entered the first gate again just as its cooldown ended, this ti setting his destination to the other side of the city.

The number of players pursuing him increased from three to five. Due to varying cooldown tis for nearby gates, they split up, choosing different gates to place their exits at varying distances from Xu Huo’s destination.

This resulted in staggered exit tis. Xu Huo’s sense covered all transmission gates within a kiloter, and just as the first player erged, he instantly teleported, unleashing his Spiritual World in a small area, assaulting them head-on with both "Everything Wants to Slice" and Psyche Force Materialization!

A flash of surprise crossed his opponent’s face, but they quickly used a Defense Prop to ward off the attacks. Unexpectedly, this Defense Prop and even his Attack Prop suddenly malfunctioned; he only saw a flash of black light, felt a coldness around his neck followed by heat, and realized soone brushed past him. As he tracked with his eyes, he only caught a glimpse of Xu Huo stepping into another transmission gate. Their gazes briefly t amidst flickering lights and blood. It seed as if he heard Xu Huo say sothing before collapsing to his companions’ cries.

Xu Huo had not entirely escaped these people. The sa tactic might not work twice, so he set the transmission gate to another nearby tech company. Upon arrival, he walked straight to the entrance, requesting to see the company boss, claiming that he’d stolen Haiyun Technology secrets and was being hunted.

As a peer, the Tian Family’s players couldn’t easily enter this tech company. While security reported the situation, Xu Huo sent an ergency SOS signal to the nearby Law Enforcent Team.

"Tian Family people killed Young Master Fu! He accidentally uncovered their dirty secrets and was silenced!" As his pursuers approached, he shouted to them, "I have evidence!"

Those who ca were indeed from the Tian Family. Initially, they had located Brother Luo and his group through hotel monitors, but had to settle for pursuing Xu Huo as their only target. During their chase through the transmission gates, they doubted if they had fallen into a trap. However, Xu Huo’s murder left no room for discussion. They had wanted to finish him quietly but never expected him to seek help from Zone 008 mbers. Was he insane?

It’s obvious that an ordinary company wouldn’t ddle in Tian Family and Haiyun Technology’s affairs, and the Law Enforcent Team is from Zone 008. Would they assist an unidentified outsider?

But Xu Huo’s sudden shout caught the Tian Family mbers off guard. Fu Jie died disgracefully in a Tian Family hotel under unresolved circumstances. Now, a witness with evidence erged?

A murderous intent surged within the players, yet the Law Enforcent Team arrived. Just as the Tian Family’s people moved to greet them, they heard Xu Huo shout, "What, does the Municipal Governnt intend to cover for the Tian Family?"

This put the incoming Law Enforcent Team in a sour mood. They wanted to say sothing, but Xu Huo suddenly bolted, yelling and climbing over into the tech company behind him. Coincidentally, the tech company’s security erged to et the Law Enforcent Team, and as the barrier opened, those inside hadn’t left, while those outside entered.

Security personnel reacted quickly, splitting up to pursue Xu Huo and to block the Tian Family and Law Enforcent Team. The Law Enforcent Team has strict protocols; without a search warrant, they cannot act rashly in pursuit of an alleged threat. The Tian Family could do even less.

Not only were they unable to search, but they were also detained by the Law Enforcent Team, as the fleeing party had ntioned Fu Jie’s death, the son of Secretary Officer Fu. The current situation appeared to align with "silencing a witness." You couldn’t let them roam the city hunting; otherwise, what joke would Zone 008’s law be?

"That Outer Zone player attacked our companion. His words were just a distraction from your investigation. Now he’s fled, who’s accountable?" one player protested loudly.

"The Law Enforcent Team is not at the Tian Family’s beck and call," the team leader replied coldly. "As long as he’s within Zone 008, even if he hides in the wilderness, he can be found. Explain your whereabouts!"
