Capítulo 2049: Chapter 2049: Don’t Take People with ntal Issues Too Seriously
It’s not a big deal if a few people die on the train. After the initial shock, the players each returned to their own compartnts. However, today, no one went to the dining car; everyone stayed in their compartnts.
During the day, people got on and off the train, and overall, there were fewer people compared to the first day. Five people left the compartnt where Xu Huo and the Girl in the painting were, leaving only seven people, including themselves.
The Girl in the painting was very curious about whether there was a Vampire on board, so she started visiting each compartnt again. She couldn’t speak, but she was adept at using the Communicator, typing very quickly, so it didn’t hinder her from asking others if they were Vampires.
Thanks to her, the compartnts at the back also learned that there was a Super Evolver specializing in sucking blood appearing in the front compartnts, and their actions were quite elusive.
Advanced Players have good skills but also face big pressure. Not everyone could stay calm when questioned by the Girl in the painting; so were like firecrackers, igniting at the slightest provocation, and many wanted to hit or kill her.
This ti, the Girl in the painting didn’t carry a backpack and had nothing to throw, so she would fight if she could and run if she couldn’t. After all, these players couldn’t truly harm her, and it seed she enjoyed provoking others—finding a different kind of joy in the feeling of being resented yet untouchable.
After almost stirring up the back compartnts, she returned to the fourth compartnt and started questioning everyone who hadn’t left yet. Although the players in the fourth compartnt were angry, they endured it for Xu Huo’s sake. The Girl in the painting, finding no joy in it, went to knock on the doors of the front compartnts.
If others didn’t open the door, she would keep knocking until soone, unable to tolerate it any longer, opened the door for her.
“What do you want?” The Bald Headed Player’s forehead veins throbbed. He seed to have a bit of OCD; though his compartnt was already sealed with a Prop, aning he could ignore it, he couldn’t help opening the door seeing the Girl in the painting waiting like a fool.
The Girl in the painting squeezed past him and started asking everyone if they were Vampires.
This made the other players look at the Bald Headed Player: Why let this fool in?
The Bald Headed Player was annoyed as well, reaching out to grab the Girl in the painting’s shoulder. However, she slipped forward, dodging his grasp, then floated onto a table as if weightless, bending down to ask a man with shoulder-length hair ahead of her, “Are you a Vampire?”
The man with long hair didn’t even lift an eyelid, reaching out to strangle her throat. The Girl in the painting didn’t dodge, letting him grab her; she didn’t need her throat to talk anyway. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, she clicked the play button on the Communicator again:
“Are you a Vampire? Do you sleep hanging upside down? Wouldn’t your head fill with blood? Does your face turn red when it does? Do your teeth suck blood directly into your stomach? Would your stomach grow with so much blood?”
Even with her neck almost deford from being held, her expression didn’t change. The man’s expression changed, and he exerted force, trying to break her neck. However, the sensation of bones breaking didn’t co; he threw her aside violently, only to see the Girl in the painting land gently, adjust her head back, and tap the Communicator again.
The man’s forehead veins throbbed wildly, but the Girl in the painting had already lost interest in him, turning her attention to others.
Most people didn’t want to argue with soone who seed ntally unbalanced, and after a brief answer from a female player, clarifying the Girl’s question, others understood she wasn’t really seeking an answer, just entertaining herself. To avoid trouble, they chose to provide perfunctory answers to her questions.
Soone beca curious about why she was intent on finding the Vampire.
“Because it’s fun,” the Girl in the painting said. “If Vampires drink blood, I want to open them up to see if there’s anything else inside.”
The compartnt fell silent. After a while, the questioner let out a cold laugh, “For soone who looks so gentle, you’re surprisingly imaginative.”
The Girl in the painting didn’t understand the sarcasm in his words, glanced at him steadily, and then turned to leave.
After returning to the fourth compartnt, she quietly told Xu Huo, “I think the blond one is the Vampire.”
The blond was the one who questioned her. Xu Huo glanced forward, “Did you figure that out?”
The Girl in the painting shook her head, “I guessed.”
Xu Huo was speechless, then said, “Stay in your room tonight; we might have to get off the train.”
The Girl in the painting nodded, going to the bathroom in the back before lights out. After the lights went out, Xu Huo brought her back to the compartnt, where she turned back into paper.
With many people disembarking, the compartnt was relatively sparse. Only two players stood guard at the front; for so reason, they hadn’t put any defensive Props on the compartnt door, as if they wanted no part in anything.
The remaining three couldn’t understand their actions, so one went to guard the front door, but just before lights out, two more players disembarked from the fourth compartnt.
Now, except for Xu Huo and the Girl in the painting, only three people remained in the fourth compartnt.
Interestingly, one of them, after a brief hesitation, directly went to the rear transitional compartnt, seemingly not planning to return.
And within a few minutes, the other two left as well; once the compartnt door closed, there was no more movent.
Who knows if these people were worried he’d harm them or feared he was the hidden killer player. All that remained in the fourth compartnt now was Xu Huo.
In this situation, he didn’t need to stay in a private room, choosing instead to rest on the spacious sofa.
Late at night, the front compartnt door silently slipped open, and a shadow appeared at the entrance.
This ti, with no Props blocking the front or rear doors, Xu Huo keenly felt soone moving through the space but heard no sound. He also sensed the other person’s presence was significantly diminished.
Under normal circumstances, even using a Muffler Artefact, one couldn’t completely vanish. As an Evolution Rate increases, players beco more perceptive of their surroundings, able to detect changes despite lack of sound. However, this player’s entry into the compartnt seemingly blended with the environnt, making detection difficult.
The visitor was searching for soone.
So Xu Huo turned around and asked, “Who are you looking for?”
The visitor likely hadn’t expected such a quick reaction, tearing off the Prop costu draped over themselves with a wave, then vanished from sight, trying to disappear from Xu Huo’s senses as well.
But Xu Huo brushed away the Prop costu blocking his view, looking precisely to a corner behind him, “Who are you looking for?”
The player used a Prop disguise, obscuring their face and body, appearing slick as if wrapped in a layer of skin. Yet, their eyes were exposed, and thus, when they t Xu Huo’s gaze, they seed surprised, then threw a handful of small Props. The small Props scattered like a startled bat swarm, swarming the entire compartnt.
