Chapter 1963: Chapter 1963: Main Task Conflict

"Most likely tricked out," Qiaoqiao said. "This is a common tactic in the Eastern District. Whether newcors or old mbers, this happens once in a while, and those with poor psychological resilience easily give themselves away."

"I only realized it after escaping," Lao Zhou said with so regret. "Later I thought about it, that psychotherapist was just an ordinary person; how could they see through the ga’s disguised identity? But at the ti, I didn’t dare to gamble."

"Not necessarily," Qiaoqiao said. "From my observation, the Eastern District has caught quite a few Outer Zone players this way. Just yesterday they sent a batch over from the Western District."

"They’re catching Outer Zone players?" Xu Huo chid in, "Alive?"

"Alive." Qiaoqiao pointed to his wrist. "Have you seen the Sting Bracelet they often use? There are many instrunts of the sa type. I’ve seen two arrests, and once the people were knocked out, they were taken away in sleep pods. Where exactly they’re sent, I don’t know. The people are taken away by the Eastern District players."

Lao Zhou nodded; he had seen similar situations.

Qiaoqiao then ntioned his mission. He had chosen a free identity, sowhat similar to a hitman, doing jobs for money. His clearance mission was the task assigned by his employer—a target nad "Zheng Yuci," a psychotherapist.

"Eastern District people place a high value on ntal health. Agor Corporation has a specialized therapist team, and Zheng Yuci is one of them. But they usually operate at the Agor Company Headquarters, living and eating inside. The company’s headquarters has several layers of barriers outside, unaffected by Space-Ti Items and instrunts, making infiltration quite difficult."

"I later checked the employer who posted the mission and found that they also worked inside Agor Corporation, likely a workplace conflict."

"The ga world is truly fraught with danger; even going to work could lead to assassination by colleagues."

The three pooled together the information they knew. Qiaoqiao and Lao Zhou’s missions were inside Argor Headquarters, so waiting outside wasn’t viable. They had to find a way in, and the "White Blood" in Xu Huo’s mission, if it’s a powerful Evolution Potion, could also be at the headquarters, though it might be in one of Agor’s labs.

"Have you tried the Resistance Army’s channel?" Xu Huo asked. "They might have a way to get into Agor."

"Haven’t found the right person yet," Lao Zhou admitted openly.

Not just them, actually many Outer Zone players had thought about this option, even making very enticing offers, as standing with the Resistance Army could be done without any compensation for clearance. Yet even with these terms, few were willing to cooperate.

"I don’t know if the Resistance Army has too few people or is just hidden too well. We’ve barely found any high-level personnel; those discovered are mostly foot soldiers. Even dissecting their brains yields little valuable information, and most of their communication is through the ga. Even if you get their account and make contact, if anything seems off, they’ll imdiately sever the communication line."

"Supposedly, they’ve suffered from Outer Zone players before," Lao Zhou shared so insight. "So players have targets in the Resistance Army; they infiltrated using this thod and dealt significant damage."

"But managing the communication channels so tightly that neither Eastern nor Outer Zone players can catch them is quite impressive."

Indeed, this managent approach requires not only intelligence but also very strict discipline. Otherwise, the Resistance Army’s grassroots couldn’t possibly sever ties or even commit suicide at the slightest sign of trouble.

"I don’t get it. Aren’t there any traitors among them?" Qiaoqiao stirred his drink with a wistful look. "Money, family threats, or a safe life in other districts—there’s always sothing tempting."

"Maybe we just haven’t t them," Xu Huo checked the ti. "I need to et soone soon. Interested?"

The two followed him without a word.

The person Xu Huo was to et was the one who frequently questioned him about the Eastern District’s hostage plan in the ga yesterday. They arranged to et near the city center square, where the Resistance Army was unlikely to appear or et with Outer Zone players. Initially, he judged the other person to be an Eastern District player, but to his surprise, when he arrived alone, he was t not by a player but by a blocked barrier and ard robots.

"On report, you have collaborated with the Resistance Army to disrupt Eastern District order. Please lay down your weapons..." Before the ard robots finished speaking, Xu Huo raised the Black Blade, swiftly retracting the props hanging from the hilt, and then swung the blade to slice through the blockage barrier and all five ard robots!

The report was likely true, as this operation was mainly handled by ard robots with very few Eastern District players involved. So when Xu Huo smashed through the property and erged, he just brushed past nearby players.

Although they used props to interfere with long-distance teleportation, unless the prop’s coverage was extrely broad, it generally didn’t affect the control of Spatial Power. Thus, Xu Huo safely left the city center, and once secure, he imdiately changed his appearance and returned to the city center, finding the player observing nearby.

When the ard robots were destroyed, the observer was just about to leave.

They hadn’t fled deliberately, so when Xu Huo doubled back, the person was only a few hundred ters from the eting point.

"It’s inappropriate to leave since we agreed to et, isn’t it?" Xu Huo appeared in front of him, accompanied by Qiaoqiao and Lao Zhou.

The man in the trench coat scanned Xu Huo and the two others. "We walk separate paths, saving us the trouble of speech."

While speaking, a batch of players appeared on their periter. Judging by movents and so details, they seed to be Outer Zone players.

It looked like two groups had run into each other.

"Even if your task sides with the Resistance Army, there’s no need to eliminate other players," Qiaoqiao said. "Besides, how can you be sure we’re with the Eastern District?"

The trench coat man smiled indifferently. "You sounded so heated; I thought you worked for Eastern District players. So, it turns out you weren’t."

With one casual sentence, it was clear that Xu Huo’s group could take action, which wouldn’t be a problem; with seven against three, he had the upper hand.

Realizing the situation, Xu Huo and Lao Zhou exchanged glances, tactfully preparing to retreat when a sudden beam hit one of the opposing player’s bodies—a piece of Ard Flying Device had targeted him!

As blocking barriers rose from the nearby streets, more than ten Eastern District players teleported near them, promptly using large-scale disabling props to strip everyone’s carried items. Then the Vibration Interferoter started working, sending an unusually sharp and jarring noise into everyone’s ears!
