Chapter 1951: Chapter 1951: Eastern District Inspector Roll Call
"Han Cong can’t be reached." The chubby old man said, "He told
yesterday he wanted to review so docuntation and asked
to help write a work summary. I gave him the password so he could manage it himself. But when I checked this morning, only half of the docunt was entered, and no one’s answering the communication."
"Could sothing have happened?" Xu Huo asked worriedly.
"He left the Supervision Departnt Building on his own." Li Song said indifferently, "Last night’s incident might have attracted him due to the chaos outside. You’re well aware of the situation in the Western District; while everyone else is hiding, he headed straight towards trouble. If sothing happened, he can’t bla anyone else."
Xu Huo fell silent and cautiously glanced downstairs, but soone sharp-eyed noticed him, and a brick imdiately turned and slamd against the glass.
The Supervision Departnt’s glass is specially made, not easily shattered by a brick, but the increasing marks on it are still quite unsettling.
"Is there another way out of the building?" Xu Huo asked, seemingly in a dream, "Staying here is not a solution; I’d better find sowhere to hide. Otherwise, heading near the Shadow Wall might work; they won’t dare directly attack the Shadow Wall."
"If soone really attacks the Shadow Wall, the Eastern District wouldn’t just stand by, would they?"
However, Lin Guang patted his shoulder at this mont and shook his head slightly.
"Do you think the Eastern District players would care about our lives?" Another team leader asked.
Everyone was silent; it was a shared understanding they all held.
"Only those who care about their comrades and fellow citizens would be cautious." Li Song sighed, "Look at those Dark Power mbers wielding knives and guns; if it’s pitch-dark, they’d stop for fear of accidentally hurting their own."
"Players too, they have lots of props with various effects, they’re good individually. But when they’re grouped together, their own might drag them down, and they’ll use their props with their comrades in mind."
"Although it’s not pleasant, the Eastern District players indeed wouldn’t care about our lives. Stay here obediently, they might rember to lend a hand, but if we cause trouble, we’d be the first to die."
Xu Huo sat down sowhat dazedly, "I thought becoming an Inspector, at least, ant living well..."
No one spoke, and no one had the heart to comfort him at this ti.
The Supervision Departnt Building’s doors and windows were all tightly shut; they could only wait.
It was unclear whether the Eastern District had a sudden change of heart or the situation in the Western District was indeed severe. An hour after their conversation ended, an aircraft appeared in front of the division building.
The aircraft had a tallic silver-gray shell with no windows in the cockpit front. Electronic eyes mounted outside replaced the windows, allowing those inside to see outside but preventing the outside from viewing inside.
The side door opened, and two players in Inspector uniforms landed one after the other, proceeding directly to the building entrance.
The aircraft maintained a certain altitude, causing little disturbance to the ground, but the street was already blocked by Dark Power mbers with no way to move. Yet, the two Inspectors deliberately landed outside the crowd.
The street beca dead silent. The crowd, shouting curses a minute ago, appeared as if their tongues had been cut. Watching the approaching individuals, they retreated timidly, automatically clearing a path without forcing the Inspectors to waste even a glance.
Such is the pressure exuded by seasoned Advanced Players. Not only the riffraff but even nearby players quieted down.
The Supervision Departnt’s doors reopened, admitting the two players into a specially prepared reception room where they bluntly stated, "Hand over the training list."
Not only newcors like Xu Huo and Lin Guang, but even Li Song and others were montarily stunned.
"What’s going on?" one man with a small ponytail asked.
"The Western District is in chaos; many are talking about a cleanup plan." Li Song cautiously probed, "I thought you two ca to handle the disorder."
The ponytailed man coldly glanced at him, "It’s none of your concern, the list."
Li Song swallowed hard, instructing the chubby old man to fetch the list while explaining, "The list was prepared in advance, but so on it are already dead..."
The ponytailed man promptly swept the list from the chubby old man’s hands; he even used a prop to knock the old man towards the wall. As the rustling sound ensued, no one dared look, and the old man lay on the ground, clutching his injuries without a word.
"Forget it; the people are all here." The ponytailed man stood up, surveyed everyone, raised his hand, and pointed at individuals, picking the younger ones like Xu Huo, Lin Guang, and two other Inspectors, causing a black line to appear on them, freezing them in place.
"Too few people." The ponytailed man added two more team leaders.
The team leader, who planned to retire in the Western District, shrank back at the sight of the black line, quickly saying, "I’m getting old; let the young..."
Before he finished speaking, a silent Eastern District Inspector gestured for him to zip his mouth, savoring his terrified face, "Who do you think you are, daring to refuse the Eastern District."
The room’s atmosphere grew more oppressive than before.
"Snap!" The ponytailed man clapped lightly, "Don’t be so tense. The Eastern District chooses you for training because they value you; after completing training, you can live in the Eastern District without fear like now."
He was referring to the external situation.
No fear anymore? Li Song and others appeared as startled birds upon eting Eastern District Inspectors; beyond nas being called, they were on edge even when the two gasped.
"Put them on." The ponytailed man threw out several "Poison Stinger" wristbands.
Li Song and the others hurried to assist in securing the wristbands, and as they snapped shut, the hollow needles directly pierced the wrists of Xu Huo and the others.
"These are tracking wristbands; I’ll let you know in advance that random movent in the Eastern District is prohibited. If you violate regulations before finishing training, the potion inside the wristbands will take your life imdiately." The ponytailed man casually warned before signaling his companion they could leave.
When the two Eastern District Inspectors and the six Western District Inspectors walked out the door, they attracted attention but nothing further. Those scared witless not only dared not question but widened the path, heads bowed like dust on the ground.
In such increasingly suffocating circumstances, a child from nowhere squeezed through the crowd, smirkingly tossing a stone at the ponytailed man.
