Chapter 1831: Chapter 1831: Will Unyielding

There were so many players outside guarding the place, Xu Huo slept well, felt refreshed, and went out in a good mood to greet the people across the street.

The middle-aged player tried to find an opportunity to chat with Xu Huo alone, but after being repeatedly interrupted by players from Black Under the Light and the Polar Safe Zone, he was taken away by soone arranged by Fei Xian. After all, he was going to stay in the safe zone for a long ti, so the safe zone had to take responsibility for arranging a proper place for him to live.

The middle-aged player had already spoken, and of course, wouldn’t refuse their goodwill.

Fei Xian explained Dr. Joyce’s whereabouts here, saying that Dr. Joyce had once lived in the Polar Safe Zone for a period of ti. He was originally there to study a cure for the Black Thorn disease, but due to too high a cost and so incidents occurring in the safe zone at the ti making it unable to afford the research needs, the experints had to be suspended. Not long after, Dr. Joyce voluntarily left, saying before he left that he was going to CK22 Safe Zone.

The CK22 Safe Zone was swept away by a tide of aliens, and the aftermath of that Different Species Group activity was extrely brutal, with only a very few people in the safe zone managing to escape before the alien attack. The rest were all treated as food by the Different Species Group that later occupied the city.

"Now there are still so aliens left in that safe zone, but their numbers are small," Fei Xian said: "Dr. Joyce is definitely not there now, but the buildings are relatively well-preserved, so maybe we can find so clues."

He also suggested having several players accompany them to prevent Xu Huo and his group from encountering any accidents.

Xu Huo, of course, had no objections, just expressed the desire to visit where Dr. Joyce used to work, preferably to obtain one or two personal items of his.

Fei Xian hesitated slightly but agreed, taking them to an abandoned laboratory.

"We really don’t have anyone who understands potions, so the laboratory was abandoned after Dr. Joyce left."

Xu Huo nodded, and after looking around, he didn’t find any paper records, so he took photos of the operating table and storage cabinets holding items.

As for the personal items he ntioned, there was nothing too personal since Dr. Joyce left on his own and took everything with him. His forr room was still there, but it just had bed linens, tables, chairs, and such similar to what others had.

Xu Huo took photos anyway.

"Could you take

to see the places Dr. Joyce frequently visited?" he added, "He used to be a friend of my elder, and though they haven’t been in touch for years, I’d like to know about his recent situation... Even if I can’t find him, it would be nice to see where he lived."

Fei Xian couldn’t refuse, so he took him to two places: a recreation room and a place where Joyce used to be alone.

Xu Huo took photos while expressing his emotions and also asked Fei Xian if he thought there was any possibility Joyce was among those who escaped from CK22 Safe Zone.

Fei Xian genuinely didn’t know what happened to CK22 later, just saying that no news is good news.

This statent might be comforting in other districts, but it’s unnecessary in this one.

These visits were enough for Xu Huo to get a rough idea of the situation within the comrcial zone. Indeed, the potion research in the Polar Safe Zone had already stagnated; apart from the abandoned laboratory, there were three rooms containing so potions waiting to be adjusted. Judging from the potion numbers, they were all antitoxins and self-healing potions ant for the ordinary people in the safe zone. After contracting the Black Thorn disease, the people in Zone 010 generally had poor health, and survival in such a harsh environnt wasn’t easy.

There was also a basent, which seed to have been used to detain aliens in the past, but it had been vacant for a long ti. As for the alien corpse pieces brought back yesterday, they should have already been dealt with.

The player’s funeral was scheduled for noon, and Xu Huo expressed that he would leave after attending the funeral. As for the remaining ti, he didn’t need the safe zone players to accompany him.

Fei Xian left with the accompanying players, saying they’d arrange for soone to go with them after the funeral.

Xu Huo and his two companions went to yesterday’s tavern.

Brother Wu and Juan Er were, again, at the sa table as yesterday, except the players at the neighboring tables from other districts had changed faces.

Seeing them co in, Juan Er greeted them high-spiritedly.

The two tables were pushed together, and Xu Huo asked them if they planned to stay in the Polar Safe Zone.

"There’s nowhere else to go," Juan Er said languidly, "and without getting through the levels, we might as well drink to our fill today."

"Why not co with ?" Xu Huo suggested, "You guys have nothing else going on anyway."

"Alright!" Juan Er laughed heartily, patting his companion’s shoulder, "Let’s go together, all of us!"

The companions didn’t object, responding with giggles and laughs, making the other players in the tavern rather puzzled.

So people who t them for the first ti yesterday thought it was a bit frivolous of them to just go along with soone’s words.

This annoyed so players who had just invited Brother Wu’s group to team up.

The fact is that even if they’re not aiming to clear the levels, in a vast and sparsely populated place like Zone 010, players need to team up to survive longer, as there are not only opposing factions but also so players who have spent a long ti not clearing levels and don’t want anyone else to clear them either.

"What are you looking at!" Juan Er put down his wine glass and yelled at the two, "Want to fight?"

The two stood up with sullen faces and left the tavern.

Juan Er raised a middle finger at their backs and then invited Xu Huo and his group to sit down for a drink, asking when they planned to leave.

"After the funeral," replied Black Under the Light this ti.

Juan Er’s group was slightly surprised but didn’t ask much, ordering so food to fill their stomachs in advance.

Xu Huo generously treated them.

Ti quickly reached noon.

The Polar Safe Zone had a designated place for funerals, so before it started, players and ordinary residents in the city gathered around a small square. The deceased player was placed on a specially made cremation bed, and the safe zone players offered them a glass of wine as a tribute, then Fei Xian loudly declared, "Brothers, you sacrificed yourselves for us, for the Polar Safe Zone, for the comrades in Zone 010. This kindness will always be rembered by the living!"

After speaking, he turned towards the crowd and solemnly said, "We must rember our fallen comrades!"

"Rember!"

"Rember!"

"Rember!"

The sowhat numb public erupted at this mont, shouting these two words in unison.

"But at the sa ti, we must not forget this hatred. We must not forget who killed our comrades! As long as we breathe, we will have our revenge!"

"Revenge!"

"Revenge!"

"Revenge!"

Fei Xian turned to ignite the bodies, and as the flas roared into the air, he raised his right hand high, "Fire can burn a hero’s body, but it cannot burn a hero’s will! Zone 010, indestructible!"

Arms stretched toward the sky:

"Indestructible!"

"Indestructible!"

"Indestructible!"
