Chapter 1768: Chapter 1768: Early Conversation

Now Xu Huo’s situation can be seen on the Collection of Information Terminal; the sky is filled with flying surveillance devices. Watching the constantly flashing prompts, he had no choice but to connect the call.

Probably not expecting him to actually dare to connect, there was no sound from the other side for a mont.

"Can you get away?" The female player was still concerned about passing the level.

"I should be able to," Xu Huo said calmly, "After all, the painting is in my hand, I can pass the level anyti."

The female player was speechless, then said after a mont, "I can probably guess what you want to do, but things aren’t going smoothly, Zone 019 hasn’t really descended into chaos. There’s a lot of noise on the Collection of Information Terminal, but in reality, everyone is just watching. Moreover, I heard that the District Governnt has set up jamrs throughout the zone, which, once activated, will overwrite all ard robot commands, and by that ti, they will all beco governnt forces."

"The District Governnt is inviting people from the mining group for tea one by one. There are quite a few players in the mining group, but basically no one is resisting; they’re all cooperating honestly."

"It’s hard for Zone 019 to fall into chaos over people who died more than a hundred years ago."

"You’re overthinking it. I never said I wanted to cause chaos in Zone 019," Xu Huo said, "My goal has always been just one."

"Can you pass the level with a high score this way?" The female player didn’t understand, "The background of the instance and the mining disaster are completely unrelated. Even if Master Soran and Granny i are sowhat connected, the final outco may not be what you think. This is completely a gamble, and one that’s not worth it."

"The longer it drags on, the more dangerous it gets. You might as well escape first... Do you really have the painting on you? Amber Square has already been turned upside down, and no one found the painting—is it in a different place?"

Not just her, but in anyone’s eyes, it’s unwise for Xu Huo to provoke the District Governnt for a possible high rating, especially since doing so might not even yield a high score pass. Many people now want his life. Even if the District Governnt shows a stance of protecting him, once they resolve the conflict with the mining group and put out a few scapegoats, this storm can safely pass, and whether it’s the mining group, the District Governnt, or other players in Zone 019, they’ll all resent him. After all, if it wasn’t for him, this whole thing wouldn’t have happened.

The longer ti drags on, the more players suspect that Xu Huo didn’t actually get the painting. Previously, soone speculated that the "Ember Girl" had already been collected. So, with more imagination, thought he was doing all this just to have the District Governnt help find the painting for him.

Of course, there was another voice on the Collection of Information Terminal. From the District Governnt’s actions against the mining group, they believed the District Governnt might be unaware and thus needed to investigate, while Xu Huo claid the District Governnt had instructed the mining group to cause an accident just to create chaos in Zone 019, with ulterior motives and a bigger conspiracy behind it.

And the evidence Xu Huo previously presented could totally be forged because Zone 019 is technologically advanced, synthesizing a person is not difficult; what can’t be fild?

However, the focus of the matter has shifted away from Xu Huo, with more attention on the District Governnt and the mining group, Hayles’ cetery, insiders forced to speak by local players, and so people who voluntarily brought out records kept for a hundred years.

People like Mr. Yue, although they haven’t explicitly said the District Governnt did bad things, have implicitly expressed suspicion about that piece of history as soone who lived through it.

They are relatively courteous, firstly because they can’t truly uncover the inner truth without key evidence, and secondly because Zone 019 is also their ho. They never intended to turn things upside down for people who passed away a hundred years ago; rather, decades of ti haven’t erased the guilt in their hearts, and they hope to provide an explanation for those unnad individuals.

The phrase "The governnt massacred ordinary people to obtain Human Bone Gems" can make soone shudder from the depths of their soul.

"Tian Tian in the ditch" was just so polite. She doesn’t care what happens to Zone 019, so she joined forces with a few allied Storm Factors to reveal so dirt on the District Governnt personnel and the mining group.

The District Governnt personnel have a strict review system, but judging from Matley Duolaiti’s considerable influence within the governnt, power and background still count for sothing here. Since they exist, inevitably, there are so corrupt ones.

The mining group has more dirt, like a century ago when the young master of Tian Tian Le Group at a young age dared to direct people to sabotage two aircraft, killing hundreds. Such ssy affairs are bound to abound.

Thanks to Zone 019 being a place filled with surveillance devices everywhere, even casually throwing out so of the Storm Factor’s information could blow up the Collection of Information Terminal.

Yet also because Zone 019 is a place brimming with surveillance, the audacity of mining group high-ups to act with impunity in such an environnt is startling as well as leads to suspicions of how they managed it—with the District Governnt’s shielding, no?

The mining disaster was a century-old event, but the expose included recent occurrences. Nowadays, traffic accidents are rare, yet occasionally, individuals are "accidentally" drawn into riots involving out-zone players, disappearing or dying as a result. Or certain families "accidentally" win opportunities to travel abroad or out-zone, only to disappear from the views of relatives and neighbors...

The focus of conflict shifted to the mining group.

Xu Huo had nothing to explain to these female players; whether they could pass the level depended on their luck.

The District Governnt’s intentions are apparent with a little thought; to avoid bigger troubles, using individuals within the mining group as scapegoats is best, and they themselves should atone for it.

"Do you need food and water?" A governnt player asked proactively.

Xu Huo had his own provisions, needing no external supplies, reminding them not to let Zone 019 players approach.

"Rest assured, there won’t be any problems here," the player with a square face who previously attempted to talk to him said in a deep voice.

After exchanging a simple couple of sentences, both parties fell silent. Zone 019 players were not allowed near Xu Huo, and governnt players were not allowed further communication with him—everyone was waiting for the next day’s eting ti.

After a day of consideration, Matley Duolaiti personally arrived in the small town. He didn’t show up publicly but chose a suitable place within the range Xu Huo could roughly sense based on feedback from Combat Robots and players, inviting Xu Huo in advance.

Within the District Governnt, there was significant disagreent over whether Xu Huo would agree to private talks, but eventually, Matley Duolaiti overruled the dissent and agreed because Xu Huo only requested to see him.

In a small building used for holographic gaming entertainnt, the original equipnt was pushed to the sides of the room, with a long table set in the center. After Matley Duolaiti sat at the head of the table, the dozens of players who ca with him either with props or by hiding or concealing, took positions around the small building.

"Can you co down and talk?" Matley Duolaiti looked ahead and said.
