Chapter 1543: Chapter 1544: The Ants’ Revelry
It was clear that he wasn’t the only one who ca in together; the voices of other players quickly erged from not far away. Xu Huo was the first to strike when he saw a tracker right in front of him!
“Boom!” The Black Blade struck the opponent’s Defensive Barrier with a loud crash, and Xu Huo was flung back by the force of the rebound. The person seed unwilling to engage in close combat, used a prop to push him to the far end of the corridor, and then reached for the button on his coat. He tried to press it twice, and his expression soured.
Xu Huo pierced the Defensive Barrier in front of him, straightened his body, and twirled the Black Blade, saying to the opponent, “This is most likely a dungeon space. You can’t use Tickets to get out. I wonder if your Spatial Instrunt still supports you traveling back and forth between different spaces.”
He had so guesses about the effects of the Spatial Instrunts used by the four people. At most, it’s similar to Tickets, allowing one to traverse different spaces. Judging by how easily they co and go, these are likely mass-produced instrunts. One partition might not have just one space. People from higher Wormhole Points might already be utilizing such spaces, like Dr. Wu’s hidden Perfect Potion space in the Solar Museum City, existing simultaneously with reality but not interfering with each other despite overlapping due to different spaces.
If they are using instrunts to freely co and go in such spaces, then when facing players, they could indeed be playing the ga like gods, mastering the ga rules. Even those who have undergone Space Super Evolution can’t deal with them. They don’t even need to use props to effortlessly evade players’ attacks and appear anywhere at any ti.
However, it’s unlikely sothing like this could be used endlessly; otherwise, they wouldn’t have sent just four people.
After saying this, Xu Huo smiled slightly, combining Psychic Power and Spatial Power to launch an attack in the spacious corridor. Within re seconds, he had made over a dozen rounds, slashing at the player from different directions and angles until he broke the Defensive Barrier and shredded the protective suit.
The opponent was equipped with various instrunts but lacked combat experience. After another failed attempt to disrupt Psychic Power, he was pierced through the heart by a Materialized Item. The intense pain caused his facial expression to distort slightly. Monts later, a scornful smile appeared on his face, aid at Xu Huo, and at the players, as he said:
“The ants’ revelry.”
As he died, all the instrunts he held emitted low hums at different frequencies, revealing cracks or releasing subtle jets of air.
Xu Huo moved over to pick one up, and the ga panel couldn’t read any information from it; the instrunt had self-destructed inside.
“The ants’ revelry?” A player who had been watching the fight, leaning against the corridor corner, laughed and said, “If I were you, I’d shred him to pieces to vent my anger.”
Xu Huo took over the deceased player’s relics. Surprisingly, his prop inventory contained few decent props; most were instrunts. Although the instrunts were of high level, they didn’t necessarily an usability. They seed to operate by receiving biological signals, and each one taken out from these little gadgets would be rendered unusable, effectively achieving a result where no one could profit even slightly from them.
After trying a few, he stopped and found a small amount of food and so Energy Weapons in the luggage compartnt. It’s uncertain if the weapons would be unusable once taken out, but at first glance, there wasn’t much of value—hardly any ores, and no identification docunts or such carrying information.
The long-haired player ca over, motioned to Xu Huo to check the corpse, and said, “No additional information, but the protective suit he’s wearing is an experintal one, typically provided to large pharmaceutical or biological research labs. Of course, it can be bought personally.”
“You just encountered this one?”
The long-haired player had previously t Xu Huo in Dawnmoon City. Both had remotely observed a “begging site.” But now that Xu Huo had changed his appearance, the player didn’t recognize him.
It’s not important; just a previous encounter.
“Certainly not just one,” he adjusted his tone, “these people seem to be involved in so shady experint, so they wouldn’t act alone.”
The castle had a suppressive effect on Psychic Power. To be cautious, Xu Huo did not observe beyond this corridor. Given the positions, one of the remaining two might not have followed them here.
“Indeed,” the long-haired player nodded, “these people might be related to the Alien invasion in Zone 017. They deserve death.”
He had no intention of delving into the reason Xu Huo was entangled with this potentially experintal player and instead glanced around both ends of the corridor. “We might be in the Suitcase Man’s dungeon.”
The distinctive outfit with a top hat, suitcase, black coat, and blue eyes belongs to no one but the Suitcase Man.
“Is this really a dungeon?” Xu Huo asked, “I didn’t receive a dungeon prompt after entering.”
“Anyhow, Tickets can’t be used to leave,” the long-haired player said, “Perhaps dungeons owned by Super Players have special features.”
Whether it’s a dungeon remains uncertain, but the player killed by Xu Huo had two Tickets. If going was an option, there’s no reason not to go.
“Are there places in the ga that restrict Tickets like dungeons?”
“I have no idea, but Super Players exist on a level beyond our reach. Perhaps the Suitcase Man borrowed from other Wormhole Points,” the long-haired player shrugged, “The ga has evolved for so long; there are bound to be loopholes to exploit.”
He pointed in a direction, asking Xu Huo if they should proceed and, upon receiving a response, remarked, “Who knew watching Super Player fights would be this risky? The two hadn’t even gotten close, and we were cleared out first.”
“Who is the other Super Player?” Xu Huo asked.
“Lawrence Lee, you can tell from the Spatial Ray; it’s distinctive,” the long-haired player ca up with an adjective, “very characteristic.”
The two walked on the thick, soft carpet, minimizing their footsteps’ sound. Just as they reached the corridor’s end, a person erged from the shadows, and both of their eyelids twitched simultaneously upon seeing him.
Standing in the shadows was a highly lifelike mannequin. Without a heartbeat or breath, one could imdiately realize it wasn’t a living being, yet its exceptionally realistic limbs and face gave it the aura of a person.
A faint yet uniquely enticing fragrance wafted from the mannequin.
Xu Huo and the long-haired player’s expressions turned grim, for what stood before them was a modified corpse. From its form and muscle state, it was undoubtedly a player in life.
“I’ve heard before that the Suitcase Man enjoys crafting dolls, often robbing the Ga Governnt for rare tal materials. Who would have thought…living humans are materials too.”
This was not a good sign.
