1279: Chapter 1280: Prophecy-type Prop

Besides eliminating the root of the danger, the rescue operation in Flower City is relatively quick.

A large number of robots replace the players’ roles to undertake the rescue tasks.

As long as the danger isn’t due to building collapses or explosions, the robots can generally handle it.

During the ti Xu Huo was browsing the information, the sounds throughout the city had already quieted down.

However, the hunt for players from other districts hadn’t ended.

He squatted on the rooftop for a while before having to change locations.

Passing by a flower shop, he went in to hide.

Just as he stood in front of a person-tall mutated flower, several short blades flew over, stabbing into the wall behind him with a ding.

Xu Huo moved aside, looking toward the small door at the back of the flower shop.

A woman was standing there, watching him vigilantly: “Get out, or I’ll get serious!”

“You opened a flower shop in Flower City.” Xu Huo recognized her, “I thought you were a botanist.”

Mu Yan rembered his voice, and after a mont of surprise said, “Not everyone can be a botanist.

I’m not that talented.”

“You’re too modest.” Xu Huo understood her aning, “I didn’t follow you to the flower shop.

I just happened to pass by.

It’s not very safe outside, so I’m borrowing your place for a mont.”

The two got along fairly well in the Last Catacomb instance, so Mu Yan relaxed a bit and sat back in her wheelchair, “The things outside have nothing to do with you, right?”

Xu Huo smiled, “I’m just a Rank-C Player.

How could I have caused such a big commotion?”

Mu Yan pursed her lips, “If it has nothing to do with you, that’s good.

Flower City’s surveillance is comprehensive.

If you’re involved, you won’t be able to hide for long.”

She extended so goodwill, “I have extra food for dinner.

Would you like so?”

Xu Huo walked through the flower wall ford by mutated flowers, following her through the small door.

Behind it was a small kitchen, with cooking utensils on one side and flower racks on the other.

In the middle were two doors.

“That’s the restroom.” Mu Yan pointed to the first door, then controlled her wheelchair to go to the refrigerator.

“I made so noodles.

Not sure if you’ll like them,” Mu Yan took out a sealed box and placed it on the table.

“Can it be heated?” Xu Huo asked.

Mu Yan pressed a button on the wall, revealing a concealed heater.

She placed the box on it and said casually, “Is it customary in your hotown to eat hot food?”

“Personal preference.” Xu Huo sat down at the dining table, “In the ga, most of the ti I’m gnawing on dry rations.

Hot food has a better taste.”

Mu Yan handed him the heated noodles and said, “I’ve forgotten what delicacies my hotown had before.

Traveling through many districts, my tastes have changed.”

Xu Huo picked out the cooked flowers from the noodles, putting them aside, “Flower City is a pretty decent place for players.”

Mu Yan shook her head slightly, “Players living here have corresponding obligations.

It’s not so easy.

The governnt can grant or deduct benefits.

So people working for Flower City for six months might not even get fifty White Notes.”

“That’s harsh.” Xu Huo took a bite of the noodles.

“But the good parts are really good.

At least a lot of props and devices are cheaper than in the ga.

So hard-to-get items can even be rented at low prices.” Mu Yan said, “It sowhat improves the survival rate of players.”

Surviving in any district has its pros and cons.

Compared to ordinary people, players are relatively free.

“Do you know about the fireworks in the city center?” Xu Huo asked.

Mu Yan didn’t look too good, “You’ve just co to Flower City and already know?

You must have been there.

How many people died tonight?”

“At least a hundred.” Xu Huo said, “If soone hadn’t attacked Kairo Field, more people might have died.”

Mu Yan’s emotions fluctuated visibly.

She clenched her fist on the armrest, suppressing her anger, “A bunch of little bastards!”

A mont later, she adjusted her breath and said helplessly, “You can see, Flower City isn’t the good place that players from other districts say it is, nor can you enjoy superior treatnt just by coming here.

For those with power and influence, cultivating a few strong advanced players isn’t difficult.

A family, a group, just one or two outstanding people can control the situation.”

“Flower City is passed down from generation to generation,” she said sarcastically, “Old bastards pass it to the little bastards, each generation worse than the last.”

“Inhumane people are indeed terrifying.” Xu Huo pushed the empty food container aside, “How long have you been in Flower City?”

“Not too long.” Mu Yan replied vaguely, and after noticing his intent, “Do you have another purpose for coming to Flower City?”

“A little personal matter.” Xu Huo looked at her, “I don’t know how much you know about Flower City’s situation, but I heard there’s a special ore vein that can make premonition equipnt.”

Mu Yan’s shoulders lowered slightly, “The ore vein isn’t much of a secret.

Many people know about it.

But outside of those who control the ore vein, outsiders have no chance to co into contact with it.

The premonition equipnt is more of a rumor to the outside world.

Occasionally, a little scrap circulates in the underground market, but no one can make a premonition device…

However, quite a few players in the direct-controlled districts seem to wear premonition-related equipnt, possibly sourced from the ore vein.”

Xu Huo lightly tapped the table with his index finger, “So the players in the direct-controlled districts make good use of premonition-related equipnt.

In the incidents you know of, is there anything related to premonition?”

“There is one.” Mu Yan hesitated before saying, “For small matters, it’s hard to tell, but a year ago there was a large-scale attack.

A batch of notorious players ca, presumably for the ore vein.

They headed straight to the direct-controlled district, stayed for an hour, then publicly held hostages to threaten the few families who control the ore vein.”

“But the people they captured weren’t core mbers, just peripheral family mbers.”

“Later, I found out that they actually missed the mark as soon as they entered the direct-controlled district.

They couldn’t even find the entrance to the ore vein, only capturing people later.”

“Even if they wanted to capture hostages, they should’ve captured more important people,” Mu Yan deduced, “Could they find no one, or fail to capture them?

If the advanced players in the direct-controlled districts fought back, it shouldn’t have been such a thunderous yet tiny rainstorm scenario, so I presu the key figures left early.”

“They may travel between different districts and cities, but it’s unlikely for all family mbers to leave at once.”

“Based on this, you think they foresaw the attack event but weren’t clear or accurate enough, so they all left altogether.” Xu Huo added.

Mu Yan nodded, then said, “What do you think?

Does it resemble a premonition event?”

It does indeed.

Xu Huo opened Beneath the Dinsion, checking the data on premonition equipnt separately.

Since the total number of premonition equipnt is small, most of the posts are complaints about how premonition items are useless, with few genuinely useful pieces of information.

After looking for a while, he switched to searching for the player Jiang Jiang.
