Victoria upon hearing the situation with the outpost made up her mind to give it a try. It was much better than going in head first into the forest and banking on god.

She t so opposition of course, though not from her cohort but from the cohort of the dual blade brothers. To which she responded quite simply.

"Let

at least see the place, then who knows? "

Of course, Guilliman and the rest knew, that once Victoria had her eyes set on sothing she would try to accomplish it no matter what.

That night, they climbed atop so trees and awaited for the fog as was usually practice. Even if it didn't co when they expected, it was best to stay up there as the fog tended to co at unexpectedly tis.

Being asleep in the middle of the fog was a death wish.

Fortunately, it did not co that night and the next morning, Victoria pulled the cohort together and had Cyrus and his group lead them to the outpost.

Using Guilliman, Jemie and Quinn, they were able to

Maneuver through the forest without encountering a single beast. Soon after they reached a small depression in the middle of the forest.

"There it is" Cyrus pointed out

Inside the small depression surrounding by countless trees, a large compound stood firmly. It had cracked and aged walls, concrete floor that seed to have all but caved in and rusted iron gates.

Most of all, it was surrounded and covered by a myriad of plants and flowers.

"Hm? I can't see any beasts.." Jemie frowned looking inside the compound from above.

Not seeing any beast in this thick forest of beasts was close to impossible, small creatures like rodents and insects would at least be around right?

No this place was strange, nothing moved inside and around the outpost, pin drop silence.

"Look carefully" Quinn pointed out his hand lingering atop a strange coil of tentacles, green and grimly, they danced through the air moving slowly in a particular corner of the outpost.

Jemie imdiately frowned upon seeing that his eyes filled with disgust and shock, that thing looked horrid for a plant. He wouldn't touch it with an 11 foot pole.

"I count around two dozen sacred beasts, seven at grand and yes, one mythic, its standing on the door at the corner close to the left gate" Guillimans eyes shone with a blue splendor as he quickly accessed what he could see.

It wasn't too far away so he could see them clearly, or rather, he could see the pulse from their souls.

"Hmm, that's a lot" Victoria mused looking around at the flora, maybe with a month of rigorous planning they would be able to pick these things off one by one, but did they really have that much ti?

"Their numbers don't matter yet, if you're thinking of attacking them, the first obstacle is that posion mist they release upon sensing intruders" Cyrus shook his head as he explained.

They had gotten the timing right, but just enough to sneak in, but they couldn't sneak past the mythic beast without alerting everything in that place.

They would be poisoned to death before they knew it.

"Yes, it is quite tricky….especially with that mythic beast around" Victoria frowned, then loosened her gaze.

"Guilliman, tell them what you saw" Victoria said to Guilliman as she rose to her feet still observing what was infront of here.

"Huh? Really?" Guilliman raised his eyebrow looking over at Victoria with so skepticism.

"We want them to work with us, so we have to let them know what's up" Victoria nodded her head.

"A have an echo that allows

to jump really high, I'm sure the kid can do sothing similar, but hasn't put his mind to it so he can confirm….the last ti I jumped very high I noticed sothing around the shelters gate" Guilliman paused

"It was the fog"

"It's ever-present"

A silence first took the group as they looked at each other in confusion, ever present? What did that an?

"You don't understand? The fog around the shelter doesn't seem to dissipate, it's always there, morning, afternoon, night. It's always there" guilliman doubled down.

The implications were wide, they were always planning to find an outpost because they knew it would be neigh impossible to pass through the fog and get to the gate.

Finding one so early on was no different from a miracle.

"That…can't be. Does that an there's no way in?!!" One of the mbers of the dual blade cohort panicked, a look of confusion and madness on his face.

This was just too much, they had entered here with the hope that following the blackberry family would be smooth sailing till the shelter gates.

After that, they could rest behind the walls and hunt beasts appropriately and comfortably.

Instead, they had been forced to fight beasts way above them on several occasions, hide in trees in the night as they watched unstoppable ghost creatures parade the ground,

he had even lost two friends.

This place was breaking his mind, he wanted to go ho!!

'Aii, he's already breaking' Guilliman shook his head in pity.

They really were in a peculiar position, from the back, they were cut off by monsters, the sa was the case at the front.

Going forward was dangerous with high yields, going backwards was dangerous with zero yields, it seed like going forward was the only reasonable option but going forward also ant a high chance of death.

It could drive anyone mad.

"There only one option, at least for now, if we can get the correct layout of this place maybe….plus there a chance that a secret pathway exists inside the outpost" Victoria spoke.

She doubted the latter though since this outpost was too far inside the forest, but at the sa ti…hope was a strange thing. Maybe there was a pathway straight to the shelter…

Just maybe
