"How do you like the at soup?" Victorias asked looking intently at Jemie and the rest, she had put her best into making this with limited resources.

They'd better like it, or else..

"Uhhh, it's okay" Jemie feeling her peircing gaze smiled bitterly, as he slowly chewed down on a piece of at.

'How did she make this so googy? This is grand beast at we are talking about here'

In his mind, Jemie couldn't help but complain, this at felt and tasted like paste, it was not fun to eat at all.

As the others complained about their food, the old man Hamdel sat by the side with fruit in his hand.

'Being a vegetarian seems so nice all of a sudden'

All of them couldn't help but muse seeing how calm he was eating that. Of course, they had no idea that the old man was far from being a vegetarian, in fact, he loved at, however he had known Victoria for much longer then them.

The ti he spent with her and mr Silverstein on their way to Blacksteel shelter. Even that old monster was again of her cooking skills,

Being a 'vegetarian'

was the only sure way to save yourself from her cooking.

"Hmmmm" as Guilliman took a sip of the at soup, his eyes involuntarily stared into the distant shade of

trees.

It lingered there for a few seconds as he looked around calmly, there were no monsters in sight, not even a sound could be heard in a mile radius.

Yet he felt uneasy,

"It's coming" Guilliman announced his eyes still firmly locked with the canopy of trees.

Imdiately those words left his mouth, the mood turned grim as everyone sighed.

The previous week, they had boren witness to the slaughter of the troops of valor. At that ti they thought it was a result of their lack of preparation, their overconfidence, and so many unspoken words in between.

However, they were wrong.

They now had a much better understanding of what happened that day, and it made them more aware of truly how in trouble they were.

"It's rising, everyone, on the trees" Victoria said pouring the pot full of soup on the fire, extinguishing its light entirely.

From the distance, a curtain of misty fog could be seen slow approaching their direction, covering the trees and making them barely visible.

The fog, this was the culprit for the slaughter of the valor troops.

They hadn't noticed nor studied it when they ca across it, simpllely venturing into it without recourse, they had walked to their own deaths.

Quickly, the cohort packed up what they could and climbed the tree before them in quick succession, before the fog could even reach them they were well nestled atop the tree branches where they sat comfortably.

What followed next was absolute silence, not a single word escaped their mouth as they even slowed down their breathing.

"Sniff"

"Sniff"

A small mouselike creature sudden rasied its head from within a small hole, it then pushed itself out and started walking down towards the pot of at.

It hadn't gotten anything to eat for the past few days, and was extrely hungry, heavens had brought to it a perfectly delicious al as compensation, there was no way it would let it go to waste.

Unfortunately for the little vermin, it had chosen the wrong ti of day to go searching for opportunities.

-Woom

A force of overwhelming proportions sudden pressed on its body from out of nowhere, flattening its entirety. It didn't even know how it died.

'That kind of…' Guilliman thought in his mind as he viewed a massive shadow in the middle of the forest. It radiated pure brutal energy, bloodlust, and savagery, but most of all, it gave off a feeling of overwhelming strength.

The forest is mine, and no one can take it from .

This was what killed the valor troop, or it was safe to say they as it wasn't the only one.

Soon, a Myriad of beasts started roaming the forest, each of them raidiating energy no weaker than the one below Guilliman.

Guilliman believed in their ability to kills beast, sacred ones weren't so tough, Grand was Harder but doable with their capabilities. They would struggle however against a grand beast at king code.

this things though..

They weren't even remotely in the perview of what they could handle.

Each of them felt like they were kings, so maybe even stronger, others felt like sothing they couldn't even fathom.

They didn't stand a chance against one, talkless of the countless numbers below them right now.

Speaking of number, Guilliman couldn't help but feel a bit of respect for the valor troops right now.

Those guys stood toe to toe against these things and killed how many? Though it lost them more than they gained it was still worthy of respect.

He would never try sothing so stupid though.

Slowly closing his eyes, guilliman fell into ditation, they wouldn't try to get him up here, as it seed like they didn't have the capability to jump or climb.

This is how they had been surviving every since they crossed the bodies of the valor troops, he could only imagine how much more they would need to endure before even reaching halfway to the castle.

"Wouidnt it be nice if we could fly?" Guilliman thought to himself as he slowly fell into the embrace of sleep.

….

The next day, Guilliman woke up to the fog dissipating and the creature retreating into the depths along side it.

"Had a good night of sleep huh?" Jemie asked looked bitterly at Guilliman.

Only this freak could sleep with these monstrosities walking all around him. It took balls, and a sprinkle of….no regard for one's life to do what he just did .

Of course he wasn't the only one.

"Yawnnnn, are they gone?" Victoria stretched her hands out and smiled, her eyes were a bit watery as she looked at the rest .

She slept like a literal baby last night.

'Thank god she didn't snore' Jemie muttered
