Chapter 152: Soul Transformation
With every fight, Ye Jun got better control over his strength, because of the deadly combo of three things: Attributes, Adaptation, and his high Comprehension.
That also made him realise how high his combat prowess had beco after months of constantly refining himself through intense Cultivation and battling powerful foes.
He could dominate a fight against both Body Cultivators and Qi Cultivators. Even the Peak-Stage Qi Condensation Realm Cultivators didn’t stand a chance against him.
He barely struggled against them, with the only exception being Sun Tianlan. She was an oddity.
Ye Jun was basically invincible in the Qi Condensation Realm now, and he tested it by challenging higher and higher ranked disciples in the Rankings, or at least till where the Qi Condensation Realm disciples were.
When the number of Qi Condensation Realm Cultivators ended, he was comfortably sitting at Rank 142nd. Above it, even the weakest was a First-Stage Soul Tempering Realm Cultivator.
He wondered if he should challenge them. If he was being honest, he stood a good chance against them considering his mastery of techniques, great foundation, and dual Cultivation of Body Cultivation and Qi Cultivation.
The thing that made him greedy enough to challenge them was the fact that they could potentially drop Soul Attributes, which might help him in achieving the Soul Tempering Realm.
It was the best possible outco, but he wasn’t going to battle them blindly. Currently, he had no clue whatsoever about the Soul Tempering Realm, so if he fought them, he wouldn’t even get the chance to pick up the attributes.
So, once he reached his desired rank, he decided to call it a day and left the centre arena, albeit now more famous as the Duel Immortal Genius known throughout the White Gale Pavilion.
In fact, his reputation was soon going to spread outside of the sect too. After all, he wasn’t even twenty and could defeat veterans of the Qi Condensation Realm.
Before long, he was going to ascend to the Soul Tempering Realm at such a young age.
He was a Genius of the White Gale Pavilion, and its rivals were going to keep an eye on his progress.
But none of that mattered to him now. All he wanted was to ascend to the Soul Tempering Realm, so he went directly to his abode and spent a few hours recovering himself.
By then, the night had already fallen upon the White Gale Pavilion, and even its mighty winds couldn’t stop the Crimson Moon from showering its beautiful radiance upon the long, beautiful mountain range.
Ye Jun sat in his abode, exhaling the pent-up air and finally relaxing himself. He looked at his status and smiled, ’Now this is what we call progress.’
In just a single day, he crossed the few remaining percentages of his Cultivation and finally rested at a full hundred percent. He could also feel the Nine Qi Vortices spinning with serenity inside his Dantian. Full.
Even if he tried to increase them now, it wouldn’t work.
One thing he realised with the system was that his limit was higher than the others, the reason he could progress more in Body Cultivation than others, which also ant that it was the sa case for Qi Cultivation.
Except, it didn’t show directly. But he knew it was there because his Qi reserves were much higher than those of others; his Qi Vortices were bigger and denser compared to others.
’Part of it is probably related to the Grand Genesis Foundation Sutra. It helps
overall, after all.’
It reminded him to contact ihui, as he wanted to ask for the second part of the Grand Genesis Foundation Sutra. He had already Cultivated the first to its completion.
Unfortunately, no matter how many tis he tried, the woman simply wouldn’t respond. It frustrated him a bit, but he could understand her.
’She is probably questioning everything right now. Or maybe she just imrsed herself in Cultivation to ignore everything. She’s quite good at ignoring her own issues.’
He sighed in exhaustion. How he wished he could storm there and shake her a bit. But she needed ti to understand her feelings without his interference.
’If only Liangxue was here.’
Song Liangxue was a straightforward person, and she talked that way too. She could have conversed with ihui better and even comforted her, sothing Ye Jun couldn’t do.
In hopes of that, Ye Jun contacted her. Unfortunately, the results were the sa. He could have used their ergency signals, which would alert her that he was in danger, but he didn’t do it.
Her Cultivation was just as important.
’Aghh! Whatever! I should just give her ti. If that doesn’t help, I’ll just barge in.’
Shaking his head in dismissal, he decided to just focus on his goals. So, he took out the various manuals left behind by He Wenxin and ihui.
He compared the two, and it didn’t take long to realise the difference between them. While He Wenxin’s research was detailed and contained everything in a way he could understand easily, ihui’s manual ca from her personal experience as a Soul Tempering Realm Cultivator, which had its own value.
There were many things in ihui’s manuals that He Wenxin simply couldn’t find on her own. After all, ihui was a true prodigy; even compared to the entire Empire, her insights were simply on a whole other level.
Still, he read both with full attention, as ihui’s manual didn’t go into detail on many parts, so he had to take help from He Wenxin’s research.
’It is a lot more than I expected.’
Apparently, every being was born with a Soul, but it was vague and scattered throughout the body, which confused Ye Jun a lot until he realised that it was referring to a taphysical plane where the Souls existed.
It was in sync with the Physical Plane, so the scattering actually took place in that taphysical plane. The manuals told him that initially, the Soul was basically a Being’s Essence contained within their Sentience.
That was why the brain played a big part in it. In the beginning, the brain was basically the nexus of mories, thinking, and everything. The Soul, being the essence of that nexus, was represented in the taphysical plane.
Things changed as one enhanced their body with Qi. The strengthening involved the brain too, along with all the nerves, making the nexus stronger as well. Once that happened, the Essence in the taphysical plane also strengthened until a very special change began to take place.
It was called Soul Formation.
A natural event that made the Essence so potent that the nexus shifted from the Physical Plane to the taphysical one. Once completed, the Essence would take the shape of a Nascent Soul, containing mories, thinking capabilities, and pure consciousness.
In a way, that beca the essence of a sentient being.
However, Soul Formation took a long ti to occur naturally, so Cultivators learned to do it manually. They learned to shape the Essence with their Willpower and transfer the nexus to the taphysical Plane, rging it with the Essence and giving birth to a Nascent Soul.
Once a Cultivator acquired a Nascent Soul, they would enter the Soul Tempering Realm, which involved constantly tempering the said Soul.
After all, a Nascent Soul was basically a small baby in that plane. Any Cultivator with a stronger Soul could crush that Soul, killing the Cultivator.
Not to ntion, the taphysical plane was closer to the Heavenly Dao than the Physical Plane, which allowed Souls to grasp the Dao more easily compared to others.
Of course, there was more to the Soul Tempering Realm, but it wasn’t necessary for him to know yet, so neither woman included it in the manuals.
’Tsk! Just when it was getting interesting, they stopped.’
But he could understand their intentions too. They likely knew that if given more information, Ye Jun would just get distracted, so it was better to give less.
Ye Jun shook his head, wondering what the two of them thought of him. Then, he moved to read more on how to actually perform that Soul Transformation.
’Should have just nad it Soul Birth, makes more sense and is also better.’
The Soul Transformation process was very difficult and ti-consuming, even though it was said to lessen the ti compared to it happening naturally.
A Cultivator first needed to sense the taphysical Plane and enter it, which was actually the second most difficult part of the process.
Once the Cultivator was there, they could actually lose themselves in the boundless planes of Soul. Once that happened, the person was left with a hollow husk of a body with no Soul.
’This is what that entity used probably to control the villagers. He basically used the taphysical Plane, found their essence, and ssed with it. I don’t know if it’s easy to do or not.’
He doubted it, though.
After all, if it was easy, then the White Gale Pavilion wouldn’t be so alert right now.
