Chapter 65: PREPARATIONS
Silas appeared in his room, back in the sa position he had been in when he entered the Nexus Dinsion.
He stood up calmly, took his bath, and slipped into a new set of clothes.
A black top with black trousers.
His hand ran through his wet hair, pushing it backwards.
He left the strands that always covered his face though.
"They should be ready now," Silas muttered as he stepped into the elevator.
Soon, he reached the floor and the doors chid open.
As he walked out, he saw Clara, as calm as ever, standing beside the doors.
"Good evening, Master Silas," Clara greeted with a curt bow.
Silas nodded.
"Did anyone ask for ?" He asked.
Although it was highly unlikely, Silas still asked.
"Yes sir, Lady Lilura asked for you a few hours ago," Clara said calmly.
Silas frowned.
He rembered she had not even joined them that morning for breakfast.
"Did she tell you why?" He asked, already making his way to the living room.
"No sir. She only said I should not worry after I told her you were busy."
Silas nodded. "Okay, I will see her soon anyway."
Soon, he reached the living room.
Everyone was there, sitting in their chairs calmly.
All except Lilura, who constantly jumped from chair to chair, trying to spark a conversation.
Silas shook his head as he sat in one of the single sofas.
"Lilura, just sit down," Silas said.
Clara had already left, stopping just as Silas entered.
She was not alone. The rest of the maids assigned to each of them also stood outside.
Lilura looked at Silas with a pout as she reluctantly settled into her seat.
"Before we leave, I want to give you all so things I think would be of help," Silas said, giving a ntal command to Rion.
The table before him filled with several potions, each one giving off a different hue and glow from the previous.
Aside from that, there was another rifle, the Sovereign Garden’s special.
"This is for Mira," Silas said, pointing at the rifle.
"You can use this to snipe the target from afar. I am only advising though. You don’t need to follow the advice."
As he said this, he pushed it towards Mira’s direction.
Mira stopped it from skidding further along the table and looked up at Silas.
Then she gave a nod of acknowledgent.
It was the closest thing to an expression that Silas had ever seen from the girl.
"So, let’s share the rest of them," Silas said, his attention returning to the potions on the table.
"This is called a transcension potion. It is the sa thing I used in my fight against the leader of the first base we destroyed," Silas said to draw their attention before he continued.
"It refills your aether and converts it into the elent of the potion, while taking you to Marshal rank at the sa ti."
Silas waited a few monts, letting the weight of his words sink in.
"So, you are saying we can function as a Marshal rank expert but with a little bit of Monarch rank flavor," Micheal said with raised brows.
"That’s pretty much it," Silas replied with a nod.
"Wow."
"Yes, I got four with fla elent, one for each of you."
As he said this, he manipulated the aether in the air, controlling the potions and dropping one into each of their palms.
"Then, we have this potion. I am sure you have heard of the Sovereign Garden," Silas said with a smile.
Micheal and Lilura nodded, but the rest were clueless.
Silas tapped his head in disappointnt.
"Well, this is a specialty of their store. It is called a restoration potion. It refills all your aether and heals all injury as long as it is not life threatening," Silas said, giving each of them four of the potion.
"Even that rifle in your hand is made by them," Silas added, pointing at the rifle in Mira’s hand.
Miller cleared his throat, then spoke.
"Governor Max is spending so much on this operation. We must not fail."
Silas looked at him with a smile.
"Who told you he bought them for you?" He asked, his smile deepening at Miller’s wild conclusion.
Although he said the words casually, no one took them with the sa levity.
"Are you saying you bought everything here yourself?" Billie asked with furrowed brows.
"Hmm," Silas nodded, his brows arcing.
"How much did you spend on all of this? If I may ask," Micheal pitched in.
Silas looked at him. "I would rather not say."
"But is it up to a hundred thousand credits?" Micheal asked.
Silas could no longer hold it back. He burst into laughter.
"If you multiply that by a thousand, it is still not nearly enough," he said, sitting upright after a long laugh.
No one spoke.
"We exist on different levels," Mira finally said.
Her voice was tiny and cute.
Silas’s smile faded as he looked at Mira in wonder.
’With such a beautiful voice, why doesn’t she talk more?’ He could not help but wonder.
After a few more minutes of preparation, the group was finally ready.
"Take care," Lilura waved at Silas as she boarded the chopper taking her and Micheal to their destination.
Silas waved back. ’Maybe she is not too bad after all,’ Silas thought.
After playing a ga of cards with her yesterday, Silas had finally gotten a better impression of the lady.
He watched Mira’s departing plane with calm eyes.
Then Billie and Miller began to walk towards the edge of the rooftop with calm steps.
"I guess I am done now," Silas muttered as he boarded the chopper behind him.
Miller jumped down from the building, over a thousand ters tall, without flinching.
His hands were tucked in his pockets calmly.
Billie turned from there to look at Silas.
"Ensure you don’t die. We still haven’t decided a winner between us."
With those words, she followed Miller.
Silas watched her fra as it burst downwards.
"What kind of show off was that?" He asked with a tired smile.
