Chapter 105: Chapter 0105: The Young Lady Makes a Move! Fleeing in Panic

Want to guess the identity of the young miss? Stay tuned until the next chapter….

Sorcerer Ma Li was focused entirely on Hu Niu. Initially, he had wanted to target Qi Tian, but when an intimidating creature like Hu Niu charged straight at him, he naturally had to deal with her first before turning his attention to Qi Tian. He’d acted as he had partly due to Hu Niu’s imdiate threat, and partly because he had faith in Jiang Xiong and the others. Never would he have imagined that they could be defeated so quickly and completely.

Qi Tian’s Wind-chasing Soul Piercing Spear tore through the sky, closing the distance of several ters in the blink of an eye. Just when it seed like the spear would impale Ma Li, a wall of golden light bearing inscriptions appeared before him, illuminating brightly, successfully blocking his front.

As the spearhead touched the light wall, it was as if poked against a resilient steel sheet, sparks splashing in all directions while the wall gradually collapsed under the impact.

Qi Tian’s eyes narrowed. This wall of light had a potent defense, one that was stronger than any protective technique he had ever encountered before.

The ergence of the light wall finally alard Ma Li. He looked away from Hu Niu, his gaze flitting between the Wind-chasing Soul Piercing Spear and Qi Tian. When his eyes landed on the bodies of Jiang Xiong and the others, he was montarily horrified but quickly displayed a resolute expression.

At this point, the outco between the Wind-chasing Soul Piercing Spear and the light wall was clear. With a dull thud, the light wall shattered, and the spear continued forward. However, after being obstructed by the light wall, its power was reduced by more than ninety percent; it no longer posed any threat to Ma Li.

Ma Li raised his magic staff, while Qi Tian picked up the Green Dragon Saber dropped by Jiang Xiong. Both moved concurrently, charging towards Ma Li.

“Rise,” Ma Li bellowed, his staff glowing bright green.

Bang…Bang…Bang…

The seeds of wooden tendrils that Ma Li had scattered earlier sprouted one after another. Drawing nutrients from the earth, they rapidly grew at a visibly high speed. So blocked Ma Li’s front while others twisted towards Qi Tian.

To deal with these wooden tendrils, Qi Tian knew that fire was the best weapon. However, normal fire was insufficient. Since these tendrils could even control Hu Niu, they were clearly extraordinary. Only high-grade fire could be effective against them. He currently mastered two types of fire: the Fire Talisman and Heart Fire. But both were unreliable. Both types of fire would be a joke in this situation, utterly useless. He had so powerful talismans in his inventory, but each required a significant duration to activate, and Ma Li wouldn’t give him that ti.

Brute force was his only option.

Qi Tian directed his True Essence into the Green Dragon Saber. Its runes started flickering as he slashed the approaching wooden tendrils.

Though the tendrils were robust, they were no match for the imnse force of the Green Dragon Saber. However, Ma Li appeared unconcerned. He had scattered hundreds of seeds earlier, and each had sprouted into two or three tendrils. He couldn’t believe Qi Tian could fend them off with just his saber.

At this point, Qi Tian realized the severity of the situation. Multiple layers of tendrils lood over him like successive waves. With a single slash, he was barely able to sever two or three tendrils, let alone four or five. Despite the cut tendrils losing their vitality, the rooted sections continued to wriggle energetically. With only the shorter parts remaining, the task was still just as challenging.

“Ha-ha, boy, you killed my mates and ruined our plans. Today will be your day of demise.” Ma Li guffawed maniacally as he fetched a sack containing dozens of additional seedlings, which he tossed into the ground. They took root instantly, spurred by magic, and grew rapidly into tendrils. Within monts, they had reached a length of several ters, attacking Qi Tian like serpents.

Qi Tian’s face hardened as he rapidly retreated to put so distance between himself and Ma Li. Fetching a high-grade Fire Talisman, he prepared to activate it and eradicate the obstructing tendrils. However, at that very instant, a giant fireball flew in from afar, resembling a projectile from a catapult. Landing squarely amidst the tendrils, it exploded like a shower of sparks onto a pile of dry grass, quickly setting a large number of tendrils ablaze.

A towering fla skyrocketed towards the sky, causing the tendrils to convulse vigorously. But their struggles were futile; without any legs, they could do nothing but squirm helplessly. Soon, a significant portion of the tendrils was engulfed in fire, utterly bereft of any offensive capability.

“Who is it?” Ma Li’s face contorted in fury. He had just gained an upper hand and was barely given a mont to revel before being plunged headlong into deep despair.

Qi Tian cast his gaze towards the direction where the fireball ca from. He found that the young miss had, at so point, taken out a staff. Her eyes, visible outside the veil, shone brilliantly, like twinkling stars in the night sky.

When Qi Tian looked at her, Zhao Qian urged the red-eyed demon wolf beneath her to dodge the wooden tendrils and charge towards Ma Li. “Qi Tian, I’m coming to assist you.”

Zhao Qian had not recognized Qi Tian at first, she hesitated to assist him, fearing that Qi Tian harbored the sa intentions as Jiang Xiong and the others—aiming to attack them. However, Qi Tian’s Eight Desolate Demon Tiger Fist made her recognize him. Although she had never seen Qi Tian perform the move White Tiger Kneeling, its essence was the sa as that of the Eight Desolate Demon Tiger Fist and thus she was able to identify him. Plus, she had always suspected that this man was Qi Tian.

Qi Tian smiled and said, “Princess, let’s see who can kill that wizard first.”

Zhao Qian suddenly felt competitive. She had always been more powerful than Qi Tian. After such a short ti, his strength had increased to this level, which she couldn’t accept. “Alright, let’s have a competition. Do you think I am afraid of you? Go!”

Zhao Qian dug the spurs of her boots into the skin of the red-eyed demon wolf, prompting it to increase its speed. She took advantage of the fact that Qi Tian could only rely on his own two feet. Even though the distance between her and Ma Li was greater, the speed of her red-eyed demon wolf would eventually allow her to reach Ma Li before Qi Tian.

Ma Li cursed quietly. At this point, the chances of him turning things around were slim. He hadn’t left the back of the red-eyed demon wolf; although its legs were shaky from being frightened by the Golden Flur Tiger, it had no issue escaping in the opposite direction of the tiger. He pulled the reigns of the Golden Flur Tiger and gave a resentful glance toward the distant young miss. “Let’s go.”

The red-eyed demon wolf widened its claws and ran. A glint shone in Qi Tian’s eyes, no matter what, he could not let Ma Li escape. He might be less powerful than Jiang Xiong, but Ma Li was an excellent wizard who was exceedingly tricky to deal with. If he let him escape now, he could beco a sneaky snake, ready to launch a surprise attack on them at any mont. So no matter what, Ma Li had to be stopped.

If Qi Tian tried to help Hu Niu break free from the wooden tendrils now, she might take too long and waste precious ti. He stroked the Wuhang Ring on his finger, pouring his True Essence into it and imdiately felt a surge of power from the ring flow into his legs, making him feel as if he was being lifted and propelled forward by a gust of wind.

The light in Qi Tian’s eyes brightened. After activating the “Galloping” ability of the Wuhang Ring, his speed could reach fifty ters per second, or one hundred eighty kiloters per hour. This kind of speed on Earth could only be achieved by trains and a few other modes of transportation. Even the majority of cars would struggle to reach such a speed, unless one was willing to risk their life.

Though the speed of the red-eyed demon wolf was fast, it could only reach about seventy to eighty kiloters per hour, far slower than him.

Qi Tian locked onto Ma Li’s escape direction and sprinted off like a gust of wind. It was only when he really started using his “Galloping” skill that he realized how powerful it was, it was nearly torturous for him to manage.

On one hand, the consumption of True Essence was too rapid; he could clearly feel the depletion of his True Essence as if sothing was being drained rapidly from his body. On the other hand, the wind created by his speed slashed and battered against him like a wall. It was indescribable, were he not a body cultivator with a physique stronger than that of an average cultivator, he would have been shattered by this wind resistance long before he could catch up to Ma Li.

Ma Li was oblivious to all this. He initially thought that riding the red-eyed demon wolf and taking the lead would allow him easy escape from Qi Tian. However, when he looked back and saw Qi Tian charging at him like a raging bull, his face turned ashen.

How could this be possible?

“Go! Go!” Ma Li took out his Wolf-beating Whip and lashed it harshly on the red-eyed demon wolf. The wolf whimpered in pain and sprinted with all its might, attempting to escape Qi Tian’s pursuit.

But the speed provided by Qi Tian’s Wuhang Ring was far superior to that of the red-eyed demon wolf. In just a few seconds, Qi Tian trailed closely behind.

Qi Tian’s face and eyes were flushed red, tears stread down his face, and his nose stung. He didn’t want to cry; it was all due to the wind, relentlessly hitting him, he had no control over it.

Aiming at Ma Li’s back, Qi Tian activated the Heavenly Dao Engine and readied his trump card, donning the Jifeng Boxing Glove.
