Chapter 138: Chapter 138: Kunpeng Transmits the Decree in the Southern Ridge
“Bai Xundao, heed the divine decree!”
A thunderous roar echoed across the skies, as if Divine Thunder from the ninth heaven had struck, causing the entire White Tiger City to tremble.
The people of the White Tiger Clan were secretly astonished, thinking to themselves, “Who dares to call out our ancestor’s na directly?”
The statue of the White Tiger in the city trembled slightly, and Bai Xundao transford into a streak of white light, flying out and soaring into the clouds. Above the clouds, an elderly man in white robes was already waiting. This old man had distinct, chiseled features and eyes bright like lanterns, radiating vitality. His strength was that of a top Sect Founder, only a step away from becoming a Saint.
“Demon Sage Kunpeng,” Bai Xundao couldn’t help but be surprised.
Kunpeng had retired since ancient tis, and unexpectedly, he had appeared again—probably related to Di Jun’s reincarnation.
Kunpeng spoke solemnly, “Here is a decree from the Heavenly Emperor, Bai Xundao, receive the decree!”
Bai Xundao knelt on one knee, saying, “I am all ears for the Heavenly Emperor’s decree.”
Kunpeng proclaid the decree, which said, “It has been ordained that the Three Pure Ones shall rebuild the Investiture of the Gods. As Di Jun reappears in Heaven and Earth, his Cultivation Level and Mana have ascended a notch. You may act without any reservations; the afflictions of the Great Dao can be resolved. Hereby decreed!”
The decree was exceedingly succinct, rely stating that the Three Pure Ones had erected the Investiture of the Gods and that his cultivation had ascended a notch, instructing them to act without any reservations… Di Jun surely knew of the Great Dao afflictions they bore. Thus, did that an, even if afflicted by the Great Dao and dead, they could still ascend to the Investiture of the Gods and resolve the afflictions of the Great Dao?
Those afflicted with wounds of the Great Dao could not ascend to the Deification Platform; once dead, they were truly gone, their souls scattered, and even their True Spirits would vanish into the Dao. However, though Di Jun’s edict was couched in subtle terms, it clarified that they could resolve their Great Dao afflictions, allowing them ascension to the Deification Platform!
Kunpeng, being the master of myriad demons, had naturally reerged following Di Jun’s reincarnation, continuing to serve him.
Kunpeng was also of exceptional talent, but alas, he had always failed to attain the Grand Primordial Dao, much to his frustration.
After proclaiming the decree, Bai Xundao said, “I obey the Heavenly Emperor’s decree.”
Having said this, he directly deployed an Escape Technique towards Mount Putuo. Di Jun intended to help all those in the Demon Tribe afflicted by the wounds of the Great Dao ascend to the Deification Platform! They had suffered the tornt of the Great Dao for a hundred thousand years, their agony unspeakable. Even ascending to the Deification Platform, they bore no grudges, and since Di Jun was assisting, they were certainly not dood to beco slaves of the Three Pure Ones.
Kunpeng then directly headed toward Phoenix City, where he was t by the elder of the Phoenix Clan.
The Rainbow Undying Phoenix!
If one spoke of being undying, it was rely a grandiose claim; who could truly be immortal? Under a severe Great Dao affliction, even Saints might perish.
The Phoenix said, “Brother Kunpeng, it has been a long ti.”
Kunpeng said, “Brother Phoenix, who would have thought that this separation would last eighty thousand years.”
Phoenix responded with a helpless, bitter smile, “Ah, it was a helpless act; otherwise, who would wish to sleep inside their own statue every day?”
Kunpeng laughed, “But now there is an opportunity; I wonder if you, Brother Phoenix, wish to seize it.”
Phoenix’s eyes lit up, saying, “Oh? What opportunity!”
He appeared middle-aged, but having suffered from the wounds of the Great Dao for over a hundred thousand years, he was in constant pain, only lighting up at Kunpeng’s words as if regaining his forr brilliance, the true Rainbow Undying Phoenix! But then his eyes dimd again, like a sick dying man.
“Where can the Great Dao wound be healed?” Phoenix thought bitterly to himself, assuming Kunpeng had co to tease him.
Yet, Kunpeng laughed, “The Heavenly Emperor has reappeared, seeking to prove the Grand Dao. He is currently settling karmic debts with the Three Pure Ones through battle at the edge of Chaos in the Western Direction. He has decreed that your Great Dao wounds can be cured, though it requires ascension to the Deification Platform, and your Cultivation Level might have to regress slightly.”
Phoenix exclaid, “The Great Dao Sage! That is a realm only reached by the Hong Jun Taoist Patriarch; is the Heavenly Emperor seeking to prove the Grand Dao?”
Kunpeng said, “Why do you not ask about the wounds of the Great Dao, but inquire about this instead?”
Phoenix was indeed shocked. After all, a Great Dao Sage represented the pinnacle of existence, and even the Heavenly Dao Saint was a disciple of Hong Jun, suggesting the imnse power of a Great Dao Sage… Phoenix coughed and said, “This Great Dao wound has tornted
for too long; I would rather ascend to the Investiture of the Gods.”
Kunpeng laughed, “Phoenix brother need not worry, the seven saints have already reached an agreent. The Three Pure Ones will not enslave those on the Investiture of the Gods, but only confront the Catastrophe of Yuan.”
Phoenix nodded, “That’s even better! What shall I do?”
Kunpeng said, “Just go to Mount Putuo, where your Great Nirvana Technique shall be revealed anew, it may be of use to Green Emperor.”
Phoenix pondered for a mont, then laughed, “The Green Emperor? He seems to be capable of so deeds, well, I shall grant him this Great Nirvana Technique!”
Kunpeng said, “Go forth, Brother Phoenix.”
Phoenix spread his wings, with the sound of thunder and wind, vanished in an instant, heading towards Mount Putuo.
“In the Northern Abyss lies a fish, called Kunpeng. Kunpeng’s vastness, its thousands of miles unknown. Transford into a bird, its na is Peng…” soone sang ‘Carefree Travel,’ coming forth—a venerable, clad in a five-colored robe, with blue hair shining brilliantly.
Kunpeng burst into laughter, “Brother Qilin, Kunpeng was just about to look for you!”
Qilin gave a respectful bow, laughing, “Brother Kunpeng, Qilin has co uninvited.”
Kunpeng said, “Excellent, excellent! Saves
a trip.”
Qilin said, “Brother Kunpeng jests, your Escape Technique is unmatched under Heaven, who could compare?”
Kunpeng spread his wings, soaring ninety thousand miles.
These ninety thousand miles are but a taphor; with one spread of his wings, was it not beyond ninety thousand miles? Kunpeng’s Escape Technique was unmatched in the world, even Di Jun himself felt inferior; otherwise, how could he live up to the illustrious title of the leader of myriad demons?
“Years ago, we sat and discussed the Dao with Laozi, singing ‘Carefree Travel’—I didn’t expect Brother Qilin to still rember it. Sadly, Laozi did not wish to cultivate, and now he’s been dust for who knows how many years,” Kunpeng, hearing Qilin sing ‘Carefree Travel,’ felt an indescribable sense of loss, as if in a dream—a dream that lasted tens of thousands of years.
Qilin gave a bow to Kunpeng, saying, “Brother Kunpeng, I shall take my leave, until we et again at the Catastrophe of Yuan!”
Kunpeng nodded.
Qilin employed the Five Elents Escape Technique, turning into a multi-colored light, and headed towards Mount Putuo.
“Brother Kunpeng! We’re going too!”
“Haha, haha! Brother Kunpeng, there’s no need for you to issue the Heavenly Emperor’s decree, we’ll go ourselves!”
“Brother Kunpeng, see you in eight thousand years!”
From within the Southern Ridge Demon Mountain surged terrifying currents, as the great ancestors of the various Demon Tribes started moving—Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox, Nine-Tailed Snake, Vermilion Bird, Xuan Wu, and others. Now with a thod to heal the Primordial Dao wounds, they could hardly wait. Sitting stiffly for a hundred thousand years, soaking up Incense Willpower within sculptures void of daylight had almost rotted their bones. Today, with the Demon Tribe and Buddhist Sect eting at Mount Putuo, how could they not seize the chance to heal their Primordial Dao wounds?
The Four Domains were astonished; the Demon Tribe’s ultimate forces were activated, aiming for a great battle with the Buddhist Sect at Mount Putuo!
Many powerful individuals employed their Escape Techniques and headed towards Mount Putuo, eager to witness this world-engaging battle, even so old demons from the Demon Abyss of the Northern Region erged to take a look.
One can imagine, if not for the Demon Tribe’s powerhouses suffering from Primordial Dao wounds, how terrifying would the Demon Tribe’s might be?
Kunpeng also said, “I must make a trip myself; my disciple was captured by the Buddhist Sect, brainwashed— it’s ti to bring him back.”
Having said this, he too employed an Escape Technique and headed towards Mount Putuo.
This battle between the Buddhist Sect and the Demon Tribe escalated to a pinnacle, marking the largest war since the Investiture of the Gods, ancient rivals—demons, Buddhists!
If not for these ancient ancestors of the Demon Tribe coming forth, the Demon Tribe would undoubtedly have been defeated in this battle, but now the outco seed uncertain.
As for the outco of the battle, please tune in to the next episode.
