Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Sun Wukong Battles the Six-Eared Macaque

Last ti, we left off with the Black Bear Spirit telling the Six-Eared Macaque to wait while it climbed the mountain to see Wukong.

Upon reaching the gate of Water Curtain Cave, the Black Bear Spirit stated its purpose and only then did the little demons guarding the mountain go to find the Monkey King to pass along the ssage. Known for his impatience, Wukong received the news and with a sorsault, descended from the mountain, landing right in front of the Black Bear Spirit.

“Heh heh, heh heh! You mangy bear, your headband’s actually been removed? I always said that if we ever t, I could help you remove that headband,” said Sun Wukong.

“Wukong my brother, you jest. I had my own fortunate encounter, didn’t I?” replied the Black Bear Spirit.

“What brings you to seek out old Sun? You’re not here to repay a debt of gratitude, are you?” Wukong inquired.

A flash of cold light glead in the Black Bear Spirit’s eyes as it said, “I do have a matter for which I’ve co to find you.”

Scratching his head and jumping up and down, Wukong asked, “What is it? Tell . If it’s interesting, old Sun will help you out.”

The Black Bear Spirit let out a strange laugh, “It’s not just interesting, it’s utterly thrilling!”

Wukong’s curiosity was further piqued as he urged, “Quick, speak up, speak up!”

The Black Bear Spirit said, “The Ancestral Demon Luo Hou has decreed that Guanyin’s fate has run its course. With the Deification Platform now erected, it’s ti for her to face her calamity. I’ve co to invite you to join

in killing Guanyin.”

Upon hearing this, Wukong’s eyes shone with a golden light as his Fiery Eyes with Golden Vision flickered incessantly. “Good, good, good! Just wait a mont, I will call Heaven-Defying Taoist, my brother; he’s been itching to kill Guanyin too!” exclaid Wukong.

Both of the thoughts that Wukong had spawned, be they benevolent or malevolent, seed to hate Guanyin to the bones. Inviting the Heaven-Defying Taoist to join in the killing was an excellent idea! Having said this, Wukong told the Black Bear Spirit to wait there for a short while and then, with a sorsault, he headed towards the Eastern Divine Region.

The Heaven-Defying Taoist was imparting Taoist magic when he saw Wukong arrive, causing him to cease his teaching, rise into the air, and join the clouds above, inquiring, “What’s the matter?”

Wukong slapped his head and laughed, “Grandma’s legs, I’ve played the fool!

I could’ve simply transmitted a thought to make you understand instead of coming here in person! It seems I’m still too hasty. Let’s go, I’ll take you to kill Guanyin.”

The Heaven-Defying Taoist responded with surprise, asking coldly, “Kill Guanyin?”

Wukong nodded, “Yes, yes, yes! Ancestral Demon Luo Hou has declared that Guanyin’s fate has run its course. He has sent the Black Bear Spirit to find , and now he asks us to go to Mount Putuo together and send Guanyin up to the Deification Platform.”

The Heaven-Defying Taoist’s eyes glinted with a cold light as he said sternly, “Let’s go! Kill her!”

Killing Guanyin was a deed he had long contemplated, and now that Luo Hou proclaid that her fate had expired and her ti of tribulation had arrived, it ant she was now vulnerable to be killed, beyond the help of others!

Wukong, with the Heaven-Defying Taoist, ca to Water Curtain Cave and t the Black Bear Spirit.

“The Ancestral Demon instructed

to co with the Six-Eared Macaque, but Brother Six-Ears feared you might misunderstand, so he’s remained hidden,” said the Black Bear Spirit.

Wukong couldn’t help grinding his teeth as he thought to himself, “We drew even during our fight on the Journey to the West back in the day; today, a victor must erge.”

Leading the two several hundred li away, the Black Bear Spirit found the Six-Eared Macaque. Without a word, Wukong picked up the Heavenly chanism Staff and attacked!

The Six-Eared Macaque exclaid in surprise, “Sun Wukong, what are you doing!”

With a sinister laugh, Wukong said, “Back on the Journey to the West, we never settled who was stronger. Today we must have a bout!”

Seeing the counterpart still as vehently competitive as ever, the Six-Eared Macaque grew angry, lifted the Sea-Calming Divine Needle, the Jingu Bang, and they clashed.

Wukong possessed incredible combat prowess, but the Six-Eared Macaque’s cultivation level was higher and more profound, so even though it was at a disadvantage in terms of staff technique, Wukong couldn’t gain the upper hand. Operating its innate divine ability, the Six-Eared Macaque twitched its six ears and could easily evade, sensing from which direction and angle the staff was coming.

“Both of you, stop fighting for a mont; it’s not too late to kill Guanyin after,” the Black Bear Spirit hurriedly interjected, not daring to step between them.

The two monkeys fought intensely, as the sky filled with dazzling golden staff shadows. Their battle shattered the very fabric of space, which was then repaired by the laws of the Heavenly Dao. The cacophony of their staffs colliding echoed continuously, with only their after-images visible amidst the chaotic winds.

Wukong summoned the Green Lotus to protect himself, for, after all, his opponent was a Daluo Golden Immortal, while he was rely a Taiyi Golden Immortal, and could hardly withstand the attacks. Shielded by the Green Lotus, he fought recklessly, directing each move towards the vital points of the Six-Eared Macaque.

After delivering thirty-six blows in quick succession, Wukong closed in on the Six-Eared Macaque. Once his staff failed to provide leverage at such close range, he threw a Drilling Cannon Fist towards his adversary’s throat with his left hand, and dropping the Heavenly chanism Staff, his right palm struck towards the face to obstruct vision.

With a twitch of its ears, the Six-Eared Macaque parried the punch with one hand while holding its staff horizontally and struck at Wukong’s chest with the other.

“Bang!”

“Crack!”

Each of them bore the brunt of one punch and one palm, but the swaying Green Lotus deflected the Six-Eared Macaque’s punch, whereas Wukong’s palm landed squarely on its face, sending it flying hundreds of zhang, tumbling head over heels, with the world spinning and darkening before its eyes.

The Six-Eared Macaque bellowed furiously, “You…!”

The Heaven-Defying Taoist chuckled coldly, “You what? If you spout nonsense again, don’t bla

for making a move to kill.”

The Six-Eared Macaque retorted, “And who might you be?”

The Heaven-Defying Taoist replied, “I am the Heaven-Defying Taoist, the evil thought cleaved from Wukong’s mind.”

Upon hearing this, the Six-Eared Macaque couldn’t help but shudder inwardly; he had not expected Sun Wukong to have started slaying the Three Corpses already. But why was his cultivation level still that of a Taiyi Golden Immortal? Now, hearing the words of the Heaven-Defying Taoist, he dared not say more, fearing that if the two grew fierce, they really might leave him behind.

Sun Wukong cackled delightfully, “Satisfying, satisfying, let’s fight again!”

The Six-Eared Macaque protested, “How can I beat you when you use that Green Lotus to protect yourself?”

Sun Wukong exclaid in surprise, “How could you not beat ? That Great Might Heavenly Dragon fought with

and nearly drained all my mana until I couldn’t even summon the Green Lotus! If you’ve got the ability, do the sa and beat

until I’m out of strength.”

Finishing his words with a strange yell, he lifted his staff and charged towards the Six-Eared Macaque to fight again.

The Six-Eared Macaque was so furious smoke seed to billow from his eleven orifices—and with six ears, didn’t that make eleven orifices?

Having taken a hit from the staff earlier, the Six-Eared Macaque was itching for payback; without further words, he wielded his Jingu Bang and clashed with Sun Wukong.

The Six-Eared Macaque’s previous weapon was known as the “Willful Iron Rod,” a treasure of Tathagata. Later, when Tathagata switched places, he killed Sun Wukong and took away the Golden Hoop, lting down the Golden Hoop and the Willful Iron Rod to award the Six-Eared Macaque.

The staff in the Six-Eared Macaque’s hands was also extraordinary, crafted through Tathagata’s refining. In the Northern Region’s Demon Abyss, the Ancestral Demon Luo Hou further refined it for him.

Dear readers, do not think that just because Luo Hou is a Saint, he would not aid the Six-Eared Macaque in refining his weapon. Be aware that the Six-Eared Macaque, as one of the four Great Divine Monkeys, is exceptionally gifted and could very well beco the founder of a sect; anyone who ets him would attempt to win his favor. No wonder Tathagata had both the Six-Eared Macaque and Sun Wukong under his control back then, pity that Sun Wukong suddenly realized sothing during his Journey to the West, leading to Tathagata killing him on the spot.

This ti, the Six-Eared Macaque was extra cautious, dealing with each move ticulously, not allowing Sun Wukong even a slight opening.

After several hundred rounds, Sun Wukong pressed the Six-Eared Macaque down with his formidable staff technique, but the Six-Eared Macaque, with his profound mana, was still unscathed.

The Heaven-Defying Taoist, having lost his patience, cursed, “Stop fighting! Kill Guanyin first, then you two can continue your duel.”

After saying that and seeing the two still engaged in combat, he raised the Great Revolution Seal into the air, and with a fierce drop, the revolutionary will surged forth, almost shattering even the precious light of the Green Lotus; both the Six-Eared Macaque and Sun Wukong hastily used escape techniques to retreat repeatedly.

“Boom!”

The Great Revolution Seal landed between them, finally putting an end to their ongoing fight.

Sun Wukong said, “Brother, were you trying to crush

to death?”

The Heaven-Defying Taoist gave a forced smile, “I told you to stop fighting, but you wouldn’t listen. If you want to fight, wait until after we kill Guanyin, then you can take it slow with him.”

Twirling the staff in his hands, Sun Wukong pointed at the Six-Eared Macaque and declared, “Alright, then let’s kill Guanyin first before we resu our magic duel!”

The Six-Eared Macaque was fuming with such rage that his throat burned with Samadhi fire, and his chest churned with the Five Qi; but he still held himself back.

“Peace is precious, peace is precious! Let’s kill Guanyin first,” cajoled the Black Bear Spirit with a smile.

Since the Six-Eared Macaque had only recently ascended to Daluo Golden Immortal and hadn’t fully comprehended that realm, he found the fight rather strenuous. Otherwise, relying on his innate divine abilities, he would never have been at such a disadvantage; at the very least, he should have been able to stand his ground against Sun Wukong.

“After killing Guanyin, I’ll just use an escape technique and leave, hmph!” the Six-Eared Macaque calculated secretly.

He wasn’t foolish; even if he could overpower Sun Wukong, there was still another Heaven-Defying Taoist on the side. This Taoist was unpredictable, and his Great Seal was incredibly formidable!

The four of them thus headed towards Guanyin’s Daoist Temple on Mount Putuo, where Guanyin had unwittingly set herself up for self-destruction. She hadn’t anticipated that calamity would befall her at the hands of these individuals, a true case of the cycle of karma being inescapable and retribution unavoidable.

Don’t think that the Deification Platform is a pleasant destination—it’s where one goes after death, where cultivation greatly diminishes, and one becos but a subordinate, a title that is almost synonymous with being a slave, bound to obey the orders of the Three Pure Ones.

Due to concerns over their reputation, the Three Pure Ones refrained from using the will of the Divine Court inscribed in the Investiture of the Gods to coerce the Jade Emperor and thus kept out of the affairs of the Heavenly Court. Otherwise, how could the Buddhist Sect have the strength to expand eastward? After all, the Jade Emperor is the ruler of ten thousand heavens, a title that superficially seems even more significant than that of the Three Pure Ones.

The sight of Mount Putuo now looming before them, Guanyin sitting within the temple felt a sudden surge in her heart, as if a significant event was about to unfold.
