Xuan Si quickly interjected, “Uncle, it wasn’t his idea. I ca here on my own.”
Making sure Xuan Si was aware of the situation, Xuan Wu reiterated, “Rember, when the ti cos, stick close to .”
“Understood. Don’t worry. I’ll stick with you at all tis,” Xuan Si assured.
Just then, as ferocious as a pack of wolves, the Giant Ape attacked. Jing Po unleashed all his Beast Types to fight off these enormous apes.
Sensing danger, Longhun warned, “They surely have a backup plan.”
Jing Po leaned in and asked, “Young Master is saying they have a backup?”
“They definitely do. This area is filled with tension, making it an ideal ambush spot.” Longhun was familiar with their tactics. These people loved to attack under the cover of a troop of monsters.
Jing Po knew that if anyone attacked them, they wouldn’t be able to fend them off given their current manpower. Understanding Longhun’s importance, he told him, “Young Master, you should start moving away with Shi Xueqin. I’ll handle things here.”
Longhun glanced around and nodded slightly.
“Don’t worry. They only want to kill you. It’s quite easy for
to shake them off. You should find a place to hide imdiately. I will find you later.”
“Alright.” Longhun then looked at Shi Xueqin and said, “Let’s go.”
Jing Po released a thick smoke, filling the area with darkness.

Longhun glanced back and asked, “Did you see that?”

“What else can we do but hide quickly?”
“But what about our brothers?”
“Would you like to go and save them?”
Shi Xueqin responded coldly, “Sure, if you really want
to get myself killed.”
“So, you want
to go out there and get myself killed instead?” Longhun retorted, “The Mitra Monk is way behind, too far away to reach us in ti. Look at how many of them there are, at least three hundred. We can’t help much. They’ll have to fend for themselves. I told you before, most of the people who enter here will die.”
Shi Xueqin remained silent.

Shi Xueqin sniffled.

The battle behind them raged on. Jing Po fought along with his team for a while, before taking advantage of the chaos and smoke to slip away.
As expected, they were soon overwheld, with only remnants of their team left.
But they couldn’t find Longhun.
Xuan Lin returned and reported, “I didn’t see Longhun. He probably escaped while the smoke was thick.”
“How can he be so lucky?” soone grumbled in the background.
“We shouldn’t have been exposed. How did he know we were coming?” Xuan Hong speculated.
Xuan Lin looked around at the nurous bodies on the ground and the encroaching darkness. He asked, “Clan Chief, should we continue the pursuit?”
The surroundings were pitch black, making it difficult to search. Fearing an ambush from the Mitra Monk, Xuan Wu announced, “Let’s retreat.”
“Luck was on his side this ti,” Xuan Lin added.
Xuan Si looked around discontentedly. Being outsmarted and having missed the chance to kill Longhun was a great disappointnt despite having killed many from the Dragon Slaying Clan.
