All the major clans were sparing no effort in nurturing their younger generation. The Higher Dragon clans were nothing like Huang Yuanlang—far from weak. In Lan Xuanyu’s group alone, there were three exceptionally powerful opponents, each one a true “hard bone” to chew through. Breaking past them would be anything but easy.
“During the round-robin stage, you must seize every mont to recover and adjust,” Huang Yuanlang instructed. “That’s precisely why I gave you dragon marrow and dragon crystals. They can accelerate your recovery, but if you suffer severe injuries, even they won’t help much. That’s also why I told Lan to strike decisively.”
“So in the matches, avoid taking heavy damage at all costs. If victory is out of reach, concede rather than force it. The key to the round robin is to complete all nine matches. Only by finishing every match do you stand a chance of advancing.”
“Once you’re seriously injured, you won’t be able to compete afterward. No matter how strong you are, it won’t matter.”
At this mont, Huang Yuanlang was like a seasoned coach, passing down all the experience the Huang Family had accumulated to Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu.
“Big brother, will the other competitors also prepare targeted strategies?” Bai Xiuxiu asked.
“They definitely will,” Huang Yuanlang replied. “The Rising Dragon Competition is extrely important to everyone. All we can do is give it our best. In the end, your performance on the spot will matter most.”
Though their preparations were thorough, neither Huang Yuanlang nor Huang Daoqi could be certain of the final outco. But to them, the final ranking wasn’t what mattered most.
Lan was already at the top of the Rising Dragon rankings, and that alone satisfied the Huang Family. Moreover, she had earned the title of “Golden Dragon Princess,” her fa skyrocketing overnight. The major clans were already restless with anticipation.
In the dragon clan, a female dragon with a powerful bloodline was even more desirable than a male.
Bloodline determined the strength of future offspring. If both partners possessed exceptional bloodlines, the chances of producing outstanding descendants increased dramatically.
For dragons, every act of reproduction was of utmost importance. Among the Eighteen Dragon Knights, only two were female—proof of how rare female powerhouses were within the dragon race.
And notably, the husbands of those two female Dragon Knights were their mount dragons.
Therefore, whatever ranking Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu achieved in the Rising Dragon Competition was far less important than the thousand-year contract they had signed.
The tournant was held once every ten years. Even if they didn’t succeed this ti, there would always be another chance. After all, in Huang Daoqi’s eyes, “they” had only recently transitioned from wild dragons into official mbers of the dragon clan and had not trained long in Dragon Force tempering.
Lan Xuanyu’s displayed talent was already astonishing. Given another ten years, first place would almost certainly be his. He might even beco a Dragon Knight in the future.
The only regret was that if “she” failed to take first place, she would lose the opportunity to enter the Dragon Realm—the most precious reward of all for the dragon clan.
Through this tournant, the Huang Family had recognized the imnse potential of Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu and secured a thousand-year contract with them. Their primary goal had already been achieved. With the contract in wplace, there was no longer any concern about others poaching them.
The Mokong Dragon Knight, Luo Lan, also placed great importance on this contract and highly praised Huang Yuanlang. As a result, Huang Yuanlang had been in an exceptionally good mood these past few days.
He had once felt hopeless about his chances with Lan, but now, with the thousand-year contract in place, he felt hope rekindled. After all, there was no need to rush—ti was on his side.
And if Xiuxiu beca Lan’s mount dragon, then he wouldn’t have to worry about Lan marrying her mount. It was simply perfect.
As the Rising Dragon Competition entered the round-robin phase, its most exciting chapter began. Every upcoming match would undoubtedly be fierce. All the major clans were working frantically behind the scenes to devise strategies.
Unlike elimination rounds, where victory was everything, the round robin allowed for a wide range of tactics—creating more opportunities for each clan’s strongest mbers.
Thus, the Huang Family wasn’t the only one making secret preparations.
As the sun rose once more, a golden glow bathed the Rising Dragon Platform. The skies above Rising Dragon City were cloudless, and the towering platform stood in clear view. Every Dragon Clan avenue had been ticulously cleaned, spotless and pristine. Guards ford from mbers of various clans lined both sides, holding back the eager crowds.
Gradually, long and resonant dragon roars echoed through the air. Figures—so massive, others slender—appeared along the avenues, moving forward until crossing a designated line. Only then did they spread their wings and soar into the sky, heading toward the Rising Dragon Platform.
Yet the most eye-catching were not the massive dragons, but the humanoid ones. They represented the most noble bloodlines among the Higher Dragon clans.
Each appearance of such a dragon triggered waves of cheers. And when two stunning figures appeared side by side, the entire Rising Dragon City erupted.
Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu completely stole the spotlight, leaving Huang Yuanlang practically invisible. The popularity of the Golden Dragon Princess was overwhelming.
Today, Lan Xuanyu wore a white casual outfit. The soft fabric allowed full freedom of movent. His long hair flowed freely behind him, and under the morning sunlight, his breathtakingly beautiful face appeared even more gentle and alluring.
His expression was calm, his gaze cold and sharp. Wherever his eyes fell, a chill seed to spread—but that did nothing to diminish his popularity.
The rise of an idol was often sudden. The dragon clan had no shortage of idols—almost every generation had them—and those closer to the people were always more beloved.
Lan Xuanyu, not yet a god-level powerhouse, had risen abruptly. His domineering style, formidable strength, stunning beauty, and female identity all laid the foundation for him to beco an idol of the Celestial Dragon Planet.
What the public didn’t know, however, was that as the object of such cheers, Lan Xuanyu felt no joy at all.
He walked quickly, clearly unwilling to linger in the roaring applause.
He was utterly helpless. This wasn’t what he wanted! Uncle Le had once been an idol too, but at least he kept his original gender and appearance. But what about him? If word got back, who knew how the academy would laugh at him?
The price he had paid was truly steep.
Over the past few days, as he helped his companions cultivate, the way they looked at him had grown increasingly strange.
Finally crossing the line, Lan Xuanyu shot into the air. Golden light radiated from his body as he soared upward like an arrow.
By the ti he reached the top of the Rising Dragon Platform, so contestants had already arrived. Instantly, he once again beca the center of attention.
It wasn’t just the public who were interested in him—the competitors were even more intrigued. Of course, they still didn’t know that Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu had already signed a thousand-year contract with the Huang Family. Otherwise, their curiosity might not have been so intense.
With a cold expression, Lan Xuanyu moved to one side, closed his eyes, and rested—clearly giving off an unapproachable aura, leaving no room for conversation.
Bai Xiuxiu and Huang Yuanlang soon arrived as well. Bai Xiuxiu glanced at Lan Xuanyu…
