Chapter 94: Chapter 92: Find
“Co on, have a drink.”
“Back in the dorm days, you used to steal my socks to wear every day, so you must drink this one!”
“Tonight, no one is allowed to leave early! We haven’t seen each other in a long ti, no leaving until we’re drunk.”
“…”
Lu Jingyan looked at the noisy private room and fell silent for a few seconds before snapping back to reality.
There were a lot of people, roughly counting, there were more than twenty.
They were all around twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, and everyone dressed exquisitely; the ladies looked as if they were wearing their most treasured outfits.
Sheng Xian’s seat was not conspicuous, located towards a corner.
But it was easy to find him, she spotted him at a glance.
Compared to others, his attire was simple: a black shirt, black pants, and aside from a wristwatch, there were no other decorations on him.
His features were handso, and even though he tried hard to lower his presence, he was still the most eye-catching one among the crowd.
He tilted his head, listening to another man speaking beside him.
The man, not knowing what he had said, started laughing heartily first.
He glanced at the man, looking at him as if he was looking at an idiot.
From their conversation, Lu Jingyan roughly deduced that this was a class reunion.
She also guessed that she had been deceived. Sheng Xian was not drunk at all.
She seed a bit out of place in this setting.
Lu Jingyan, taking advantage of the fact that no one had noticed her, planned to close the door and leave.
But coincidentally, just at that mont, soone ca in from outside; he stared at her for a mont and asked, “Who are you?”
Lu Jingyan was startled by the question. She was just about to say she had entered the wrong private room when, before she could speak, the man, confirming he did not recognize her among his college classmates, looked up and shouted into the room, “Hey, everyone, take a look at who this is?”
Lu Jingyan: “…”
The people in the private room gradually turned to look.
Including the one who was laughing uproariously while chatting with Sheng Xian.
Sheng Xian, unconcerned, lowered his head and took a bite of his food.
The person standing next to Lu Jingyan shouted again, “Did we have any girl in our class who looked like this? Why can’t I rember at all?”
“I don’t rember either.”
“Are you sure she was a girl from our class?”
“Must’ve entered the wrong private room.”
“…”
As everyone was chattering, Sheng Xian, having swallowed his food, swept a casual glance towards the door.
Then, he froze.
Two seconds later, he raised his head and looked at her.
Lu Jingyan t his gaze, hesitating whether to call out to him.
She had known Sheng Xian for so ti but didn’t know much about many aspects of his life; this was the first ti, apart from Chen Kai and his assistant, that she saw him with so many people around.
This was his real social circle.
And she wasn’t sure if he wanted her to be exposed to his social circle.
“This isn’t a girl from our class, right?”
“Or is it so girl who got plastic surgery?”
“…”
“I …”
Lu Jingyan wanted to find an excuse to leave, but just as she began, Sheng Xian’s voice ca, “She hasn’t had plastic surgery.”
Everyone’s gaze followed Lu Jingyan and settled on Sheng Xian.
“She’s here to see .”
Sheng Xian put down his chopsticks and stood up.
The chair made a screeching noise as it dragged across the floor.
He walked around the dining table, and under everyone’s bewildered watch, he approached her, “Why did you co here?”
Sheng Xian didn’t act as if he didn’t know her.
Nor did he reject her appearing in his social circle.
Lu Jingyan suddenly felt emboldened; she dug out the sobering dicine from her bag, “I called you earlier, but soone else answered, telling
to bring you the dicine.”
Sheng Xian paused, took out his phone.
The phone had been silenced by soone without him knowing.
There were two missed calls from Lu Jingyan.
He looked back at Zhuang Chen, seated next to him, who lifted his hand, “It was , I was the one who took the call and asked her to bring the dicine. I wanted the dicine.”
“You and your damn dicine.” Sheng Xian took the dicine, cramming it along with the phone back into his pocket.
So it turned out she had been tricked by the man who was laughing uproariously.
Lu Jingyan glanced at Zhuang Chen.
Zhuang Chen leaned back in his chair, smiling as he waved at her, “Hey, Hair.”
Hair?
What the heck?
Lu Jingyan furrowed his brow, not really wanting to deal with that crazy guy.
Sheng Xian had serious matters to attend to, and Lu Jingyan felt bad for continuously bothering him. “Well, you go ahead, I’ll be leaving now.”
Zhuang Chen: “Since you’re here already, why not sit for a while?”
“Exactly, Sheng Xian, don’t let him go.”
“It’s not like no one brought their family over, look at the class leader, that show-off even brought his kid along.”
It was then that Lu Jingyan realized that among the people at that table, there was also a pregnant woman with a big belly.
No, it seed the focus wasn’t on the pregnant woman, but the family mber.
Lu Jingyan knew everyone had misunderstood, and he glanced at Sheng Xian.
He didn’t know if Sheng Xian had failed to catch what everyone was implying, showing no intent to clarify.
Seeing him not clarifying, Lu Jingyan didn’t clarify either.
He wasn’t sure if Sheng Xian wanted him to stay and was considering whether to ntion he had other matters to attend to.
Sheng Xian then lowered his head and asked softly, “Stay for a while?”
Lu Jingyan responded, “Sure.”
Zhuang Chen imdiately waved everyone to squeeze in a bit and made space between himself and Sheng Xian.
Zhuang Chen moved a chair and placed it in the space, “Here, sit here.”
Sheng Xian sat down, then straightened the chair covered by his coat and gestured for Lu Jingyan to sit.
The classmates were quite enthusiastic, barraging Lu Jingyan with a bunch of questions.
“Want sothing to eat?”
“Call the waiter to get another set of utensils.”
“Here’s the nu, take a look first.”
Lu Jingyan waved his hand, “I’ve already eaten, no need to go through the trouble.”
“Then, are you drinking?”
Lu Jingyan shook his head, “I drove here.”
Everybody stopped pressing further, and his arrival didn’t make the atmosphere awkward.
The private room got lively again.
Occasionally, a few people curiously inquired about his relationship with Sheng Xian, asking a couple of rather gossipy questions, but it wasn’t too uncomfortable.
Everyone behaved normally, except for Zhuang Chen from Sheng Xian’s side, who said a couple of things that Lu Jingyan couldn’t quite understand.
“Holy crap, this is Hair?”
“She’s indeed gorgeous, killing
here.”
…
Class reunions always involved sharing old school mories, which Lu Jingyan found quite interesting and not boring at all.
Sheng Xian didn’t talk much, mostly listening to everyone else, and he paid serious attention whenever soone spoke to him.
Class reunions are quite storied words in novels.
Lu Jingyan kept thinking, among this table of people, there must also be a story about Sheng Xian.
Whether there was one or not, he could confirm one thing: Sheng Xian was part of soone else’s story.
That ‘soone else’ was sitting across from him, with short hair brushing past his ears, a handso and proficient-looking face.
From what others said to him, Lu Jingyan learned that her na was Gao Yin, and she was the art committee mber during their college days.
Gao Yin was quite proud, her smile always subdued, frequently casting glances his way, her gaze sharp and evaluative.
Lu Jingyan understood that look all too well.
The look of seeing a romantic rival.
Truthfully, he wasn’t about to consider an unfamiliar Gao Yin a threat.
“If you couldn’t win over the guy during four years of college, you definitely won’t manage now.”
Lu Jingyan didn’t really take it to heart, and after staying for about half an hour, he tugged on Sheng Xian’s sleeve.
Sheng Xian turned his head, “Hmm?”
Lu Jingyan whispered, “I want to go to the restroom.”
“Then let’s go,” Sheng Xian said, getting ready to stand.
Lu Jingyan tugged on his sleeve again, “No need, I know the way, just letting you know.”
Sheng Xian grunted, not saying anything more.
Lu Jingyan stood up and walked out of the room with his phone.
From one of the restroom’s stalls, Lu Jingyan saw Gao Yin at the washbasin.
Was she waiting for him?
Seeing that Gao Yin had nothing to say, he remained silent as well.
He turned on the tap and thoroughly washed his hands, about to grab a paper towel when Gao Yin handed him two, “You and Sheng Xian aren’t boyfriend and girlfriend, right?”
