Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Do you want to have a late-night snack together?

Lu Jingyan was stunned.

Sheng Xian looked into her eyes, “Want to join

for so late-night snacks?”

Lu Jingyan remained stunned for a few more seconds before coming to her senses, “Sure.”

Without much thought, Lu Jingyan blurted out, “I wouldn’t just join you for a late-night snack, I’d be up for eating you.”

“…”

Sheng Xian, who was bending over to get into the car, stopped in his tracks.

Lu Jingyan bit her lip, realizing she had said too much.

Fearing that Sheng Xian would change his mind, she quickly grabbed the sleeve of his jacket, “Just joking, just joking.”

Sheng Xian glanced at her from the corner of his eye.

Lu Jingyan tugged at Sheng Xian’s sleeve bit by bit into the car, smiling in an especially sweet and ingratiating manner, “Really, I was just joking.”

Sheng Xian didn’t say anything, he glanced at the two fingers clutching his clothing for two seconds, and then sat down in the car.

Lu Jingyan, turning the steering wheel, asked, “Where should we go to eat?”

Sheng Xian replied, “What do you feel like eating?”

Lu Jingyan said, “As long as I’m eating with you, I can stomach anything.”

Sheng Xian found that the little schoolgirl beside him could be really sweet-talking when she wanted to.

Lu Jingyan added, “Except for shit.”

Sheng Xian: “…”

In the end, the place they went to eat was chosen by Sheng Xian, a 24-hours Cantonese restaurant not far from his house.

This restaurant was not far from the bar street, always brightly lit, and even though it was almost twelve at night, it was still packed with people.

Lu Jingyan followed Sheng Xian all the way up to the third floor until they found an empty spot in a corner by the window.

Due to the high volu of daily custors, the restaurant had QR codes on the tables to facilitate better service; custors could just scan with WeChat to order directly.

Sheng Xian took out his phone, scanned the QR code, then tossed it to Lu Jingyan, “Order whatever you want.”

Lu Jingyan scrolled through the screen, picking out her favorite dishes.

As she scrolled to the bottom, intending to go back and add a drink, she accidentally hit the back button, and the ordering page closed, reverting back to Sheng Xian’s WeChat main page.

She really wasn’t trying to peek at Sheng Xian’s WeChat on purpose, it was just such a sudden change of the page, and she didn’t react for a mont, accidentally catching sight of a few unread ssages.

One of the ssages was from Bo Mu: Could you take a look at this contract now and see if there’s any issue with it?

She didn’t recognize any of the other nas, but Lu Jingyan could tell they were all female.

“Professor Sheng, are you going to participate in the school’s event this ti?”

“Lawyer Sheng, what was the na of the book you ntioned at the last eting?”

In those brief seconds, Lu Jingyan saw with her own eyes a new ssage popping up on the screen: “Mr. Sheng, do you have ti tomorrow noon?”

Then, behind those female avatars, there was consistently a ‘Do Not Disturb’ tag.

Lu Jingyan couldn’t help but “tsk.”

Sheng Xian looked up.

Lu Jingyan hastily pushed the phone towards Sheng Xian, “I accidentally exited the page.”

Sheng Xian didn’t make a fuss and scanned the QR code for her again.

After Lu Jingyan finished ordering, she handed the phone back to Sheng Xian.

Sheng Xian simply placed the order.

Lu Jingyan wondered, “Aren’t you going to order?”

“Hmm,” Sheng Xian’s phone reverted to the main page, and facing that string of unread ssages, he didn’t even bother to open them and calmly exited WeChat.

Lu Jingyan ntally “tsked” once more.

No wonder he never replies to her ssages; it turns out the market is just too good.

The dishes in this restaurant were served rather quickly. Lu Jingyan had co out to find food because he was in a bad mood and had given up, but now, as he watched dish after dish of delicious food, hunger suddenly beca more intense. Holding chopsticks, he started eating intently.

Sheng Xian wasn’t hungry, but he still moved his chopsticks a few tis for form’s sake.

After midnight, this restaurant would see a new peak of late-night custors.

The reason was that those who picked soone up at the bar street would usually co here for a al first, and then go book a hotel or sothing.

Around twelve-fifteen, that group of people went upstairs and sat behind them.

It was clear that this group had co from the bar street, the scent of tobacco and alcohol mixed with strong perfu. In the dead of winter, those ladies didn’t seem to mind the cold, each dressed cooler than the last.

This group was quite noisy too, occasionally bursting out with exaggerated laughter.

Sheng Xian was a natural spotlight even though he was quiet, but still, a young lady in the group noticed him: “Look, that guy is so handso.”

“Which one? Ah, I see him, he is really handso.”

“Go get his contact info quickly. You know, if you miss this village, you won’t find this shop.”

Amidst the chattering of the group, Lu Jingyan took out his phone and sent Sheng Xian a ssage: “Those girls are into you.”

No sooner had she sent the ssage than a young lady in a black woolen miniskirt ca over.

She stood next to the table, pulled down the hem of her super-short skirt with one hand, and with her phone in the other, covering her chest, she asked shyly, “Um, excuse

for disturbing you.”

Sheng Xian, as if he were slow to react, took several seconds before slowly looking up.

The girl hastily extended her phone toward Sheng Xian: “Could I add your WeChat?”

“No,” Sheng Xian responded coldly, withdrawing his gaze and tapping his phone screen a few tis right in front of her.

Then, Lu Jingyan’s phone beside her dinged, she looked over, and it was Sheng Xian’s reply to her WeChat: “Oh.”

Lu Jingyan: “…”

The girl didn’t get the WeChat and walked away with a disappointed face.

Lu Jingyan nibbled on the spare ribs, replying to Sheng Xian’s ssage.

“You really know how to tell blatant lies.”

“Sending a WeChat in front of that girl saying you don’t have WeChat.”

“Sheng Xian’s mouth, a ghost that deceives people.”

Sheng Xian didn’t reply to Lu Jingyan’s ssage again.

Lu Jingyan pursed her lips and continued eating.

While eating, she exclaid, “Ah!”

She and Sheng Xian were sitting face to face. At first, she had overheard the conversation of the young ladies behind them, which prompted her to send the WeChat reminder to Sheng Xian; later, after Sheng Xian rejected the girl, she wondered why she still had sent a WeChat.

Lu Jingyan thought for two seconds, not understanding her puzzling behavior, but soon her thoughts shifted back to Sheng Xian.

Well, the market for this top-notch scumbag is indeed no small matter.

With so many won eyeing him hungrily, has he never t soone who made his heart flutter?

Lu Jingyan, who had mingled in the world of scumbags for so long without caring about a scumbag’s past, beca a bit curious about Sheng Xian’s past.

She couldn’t help but look up at Sheng Xian and then took another look.

Sheng Xian put down his phone: “If you have sothing to say, just say it.”

Lu Jingyan: “…”

Sheng Xian looked at her, appearing to be quite patient.

Alright, since you asked

to say it.

Lu Jingyan put down her chopsticks and t Sheng Xian’s eyes: “Have you ever slept with a woman?”
