After Xu Yibai left, Mu Lin took care of Xiang Manni, who had been infatuated with Xu Yibai, by sending her ho.

“Hello,” a deep voice sounded on the other side of the phone, seemingly losing a bit of its coldness.
Mu Lin thought she might not be mistaken, Jing Chen no longer seed as cold as he used to be during their past encounters.
“It’s Mu Lin,” she announced.
“I know,” three simple words which left Mu Lin feeling strangely as though he had been waiting for her call all along.
“I thought you wouldn’t call anymore.” For the first ti today, Jing Chen gave Ying Sun a break and stared at his mobile… until now, just to wait for Mu Lin’s call, or rather, to wait for her final answer.
And her number on his phone, even though he hadn’t specifically saved it, he had already morized it long ago.
To be honest, Jing Chen thought he could guess anyone’s mind, but he couldn’t understand Mu Lin’s. So now, he was sowhat foolishly waiting, even not daring to make the call himself, though he rembered it was him who made the promise.
This feeling was absolutely new to Jing Chen. Even the most talented person could be helpless… when his emotional quotient is too low.
It was a profound problem. It was understandable why his subordinates were so eager to see him married. After all, before the Boss got hitched, they couldn’t possibly take the lead. Besides, with such a charming man as their boss, no woman would see them as potential matches, hence… this was a matter that required lots of dedication.
A smile escaped as she imagined his expression while saying these words, “You haven’t been waiting for my call all along, have you?”
Mu Lin had to acknowledge that, she was indeed an absolute truth-seeker.
There was a brief silence before a low voice ca through the phone, “Yeah.” Jing Chen admitted.
“Pff,” Mu Lin chuckled, “You are really cute.” Though Mu Lin was soone who loved to laugh, only she knew the truth behind her smiles. However, at this mont, Mu Lin could confidently say to herself that she was genuinely happy, quite inexplicably.
Because the guy on the other side of the phone gave her the sa feeling her little Qiaozi gave her when she returned ho, with his look of despair upon feeling abandoned.
Don’t ask her how she could sense that… She could feel the resentnt in his sharp eyes from miles away! Why would she need to look closer?
“n shouldn’t be described as cute,” Jing Chen gravely corrected.
Such words, according to him, should be used to describe won. Jing Chen then scrutinized himself, where did he look cute?
Although he was a good leader who took advice well, he occasionally displayed signs of machismo.
At this mont, he could clearly distinguish between genders. If he could be this clear on normal days, it would have saved many from worrying about him.
Perpetually showing a buddy-without-a-girlfriend expression wasn’t an ideal trait for a man. No wonder he couldn’t find a wife!
Mu Lin chose to laugh it off confronted with his seriousness.
“Have… you made up your mind?” For the first ti, Jing Chen asked a question with such uncertainty.
“Yes.” This ti, Mu Lin did not deliberately avoid or beat around the bush, “I have made up my mind.”
Jing Chen involuntarily beca a bit apprehensive, his breath noticeably heavier.
“I accept your invitation.”
