Chapter 52: Chapter 51: Reminder (First Update)_1
“Understood, I’ll be watchful.” Ling Li nodded and exited the room.
Mu Lin, what exactly is your goal?
Gazing at Mu Lin’s profile, Xu Yibai ruminated. One thing for sure, he would undoubtedly offer his aid without hesitation, irrespective of her objectives.
He looked down at his own legs, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Originally, he assud he’d spend his life confined to a wheelchair. But, much to his surprise, the Heavens had shown kindness, bringing Mu Lin into his world and allowing him to et her. Perhaps it wouldn’t be long before he no longer had to look up at her from a sitting position. Instead, they would stand parallel, at the sa height.
The much-coveted ‘Soul Return’ was finally won by the individual in the third private room, leaving everyone astounded by its value.
Unlike everyone else, the host was confused. The last auction item had also originated from the Poison Doctor, and it was the person inside the third private room who had presented it. Why were they now trying so relentlessly to secure the ‘Soul Return’?
The fact that the occupant of the third room was also the owner of the final item was sothing the host had discovered unintentionally.
Despite reflecting on it for a while, he still couldn’t comprehend. But one thing was clear: he, a re host, had no place to intervene or inquire about the truth. Sotis, knowing too much could shorten one’s lifespan.
Compared to his own life, everything else seed less important.
Deeply inhaling, he brightened the professional smile that was lingering on his lips.
“Alright, ladies and gentlen, there is no need for disappointnt.” He paused theatrically, a radiant smile sounded in his voice, “Although the previous rare item has been taken, our last auction piece promises not to disappoint either.”
All attentions were riveted.
“Your speculations are correct. It, too, cos from the Poison Doctor. So of you might have heard of it, Hades.” Hades, the finest creation of the Poison Doctor, reportedly so complex that not even the maker could solve it.
Mu Lin couldn’t figure out how these people heard of her affairs, as she had secluded herself deep within the mountains for a long ti.
Mu Lin hadn’t realized that the shrouded mystery surrounding a person could eventually lead to a plethora of rumors, both truthful and deceptive, so convoluted that the line between fact and fiction was blurred. Over ti, the false beca the truth, and the truth was no longer believed by anyone.
The final auction item once again sparked frenzy, its bidding price skyrocketed drastically.
“You don’t really need to bid.” Seeing the enthusiasm in everyone’s bids, Mu Lin decided to give a kind reminder.
Considering that they were pleasant in her eyes, she decided to alert them, preventing them from being duped without their knowledge.
“Why not?” soone asked, looking curious. They couldn’t understand why so many others were interested in poisonous concoctions. What they didn’t realize was that these people simply intended to establish a connection with Mu Lin.
Stuff from the Poison Doctor had appeared twice at this auction, even being the final item. Did this suggest the Poison Doctor was present?
Despite it being re speculation, it tricked many into believing its validity. Unfortunately, they couldn’t possibly guess since they didn’t understand the saying, “the unlikely ones are often the most possible.”
“The object inside can’t be Hades,” Mu Lin asserted confidently as she saw the crowd.
The mont the host had taken out the object, she had been sure that it couldn’t possibly be Hades.
“How do you know?” The crowd beca even more perplexed. Mu Lin hadn’t seen the content inside. How could she be so certain? Could it be so psychic connection with her own creations?
Disregarding their wild conjecturing, Mu Lin revealed a touch of irony in her slight smile, “Firstly, they just now disregarded authenticity in their desperation for ‘Soul Return’. Secondly, do you believe they would part with it? And thirdly, Hades has a unique scent; even through the porcelain flask, I could sll it.” The discrete scent would only vanish when it cos in contact with water. Of course, this scent was generally beyond ordinary people’s perception.
“So, you don’t have to worry.” Mu Lin was indeed certain that the item inside the flask was fake.
What were they truly after?
The crowd nodded, ceasing to bid.
They were suddenly relieved to know Mu Lin; otherwise, they might never discover the cause of their demise in the future. For now, they’ve saved a substantial amount of money, though they weren’t sure about securing anything.
“Mu Lin, the bidding for Hades is almost over. Yet there seems to be no movent from their side,” Ji Shubai whispered by her side.
Did those people already know about them?
“Is that so,” Mu Lin murmured.
If that was the case…
Mu Lin took out another small porcelain flask from her bag and whispered a few words. To the astonishnt of everyone, Ji Shubai once again disappeared towards the interior.
With a sigh, it was clear that Mu Lin wouldn’t rest today until she fulfilled her goal.
