Chapter 129: Chapter 128 Jing Chen has caught on (Second update)_1

As she watched the approaching figure, Mu Lin’s cool, aloof gaze narrowed slightly. Inexplicably, she suddenly felt a strong throb in her chest.

This person was really good-looking, even more so than her master in his youth.

He wore a military uniform, no one could wear it more fittingly than him. His slightly lifted eyebrows and thin lips outlined a shallow curve, his angular features exuded perfection, and his eyes, once cold and deep, now sparkled with warmth, as they calmly looked at her, without speaking a word.

“What are you doing here?” Mu Lin took the initiative to walk towards Jing Chen, tilted her head upwards, and asked in a light voice.

This was a place for new recruits to train, what was he, a Special Forces captain, doing here? Was he here for sightseeing? Or perhaps, he had been idle lately.

Mu Lin favored the latter explanation.

“I wanted to see how you’re doing with your training.” He had woken that young man up for training, and seeing Mu Lin’s appearance, it seed like she was not overly distressed, but seed quite accustod to life here. That put his mind at ease.

As long as she had no intention of leaving.

“It’s okay.” Upon hearing his words, Mu Lin curled up the corners of her mouth, “Although it was a bit tough in the beginning, that is all in the past now.”

Of course, Mu Lin did not ntion that in the beginning, she really wanted to pick a fight with the guy in front of her, but by now, such thoughts had vanished. Perhaps, she should thank him for allowing her to have such a unique and challenging experience during this period of her life; it was a pretty good thing after all.

“That’s good.” Nodding, unsure of what to say next, he reached out towards the object in Mu Lin’s hand, “Let

hold that.” It was not a question, but rather a simple and natural statent.

“Thank you.” Mu Lin didn’t intend to refuse. She handed the object over to him, and then turned to walk towards the direction from which she ca, Jing Chen quietly following at her side, walking side by side with her.

“When are you planning to go back?” After a silent journey, it was Mu Lin who broke the silence; in fact, she felt it strange, as previously their interactions had never been this… quiet. What was wrong with him today, he seed a bit off.

“Do you want

to leave soon?” He asked in return, causing Mu Lin to pause mid-step and throw him a sidelong glance, “You’re overthinking.” Whether he stayed or left had little to do with her, really.

The corners of his mouth curved a bit more. Jing Chen interpreted Mu Lin’s words as her not wanting him to leave.

If that was the case, he would stay a bit longer.

Mu Lin felt helpless about soone’s narcissism.

“Since you’re not planning to leave, then stick around and help.” The next second, Mu Lin was not courteous anymore, probably the only one bold enough to order Jing Chen around in this enormous military camp, although this ti, Jing Chen found the task quite pleasant and delightful.

Even satisfying.

Satisfying?

The mont these two words crossed his mind, Jing Chen subconsciously paused, puzzled at his own thoughts. But seeing the faint, questioning smile on Mu Lin’s face, he seed to understand sothing.

He nodded, without hesitation.

It looked like whenever he was with Mu Lin, he would always beco a bit unlike himself.

Why was that?

It seed, he needed to take a good look into this.
