Chapter 915: 901, Little Fatty (3)
Jian Qing feigned confusion and yawned, “I’m so sleepy, I need to sleep.”
Quan Jingwu clasped her waist, preventing her from escaping, and his deep, dark eyes sparkled with amusent, “Will you agree or not?”
“Agree to what, I’m so sleepy,” she mumbled unclearly, secretly scoffing at him for being such a big bad wolf.
Quan Jingwu gave her a deep look and then said with a sudden twist, “It seems there’s so truth to the saying ‘A woman becos foolish for three years after giving birth’.”
“…”
Was he blatantly calling her dumb?
“Get lost.”
She pushed him away and cuddled up next to her two treasures, snuggling up with them to sleep.
Quan Jingwu looked at the back of her head, chuckled, and promptly stuck close to them, stretching out his long arm to embrace all three of them together.
The man’s cool and distant fragrance wafted from behind her, enveloping her. Jian Qing smiled serenely, her pale hand resting on his, and closed her eyes to sleep.
The bright moon erged from behind the clouds, and its soft glow, mingling with the dim light of the wall lamp, scattered over the family of four sleeping in each other’s arms.
…
Old Master Jian and a few old friends had gone on a trip, and Uncle Qin naturally accompanied them. The Manor was quite deserted when Jian Qing arrived.
“Miss!” The Servant took her suitcase and said respectfully.
Jian Qing nodded and sat on the sofa to rest. She took out her phone and discovered that it was out of battery.
She plugged in the charger and as the screen lit up, she saw a row of missed calls. Apart from one or two from Jian Luo and Xiya, the rest were from her husband, the domineering king.
After texting Jian Luo and Xiya, she pressed her husband’s number.
“Xiaojing!”
“Did you arrive?” On the other end of the call, Quan Jingwu lifted his fingertips slightly, and Shen Hao and the others exchanged knowing smiles, taking the opportunity to set down their docunts and drink water for a quick rest.
“Hmm,” Jian Qing said. “My phone just died.”
“Did you eat?” he asked.
“I ate sothing on the plane; what about you? Are you at the office or at ho?”
“I’m at the office, having a eting. I’ll head back ho soon.”
His gentle tone made Shen Hao and the others click their tongues.
When facing his wife, the phrase ‘a man of few words’ completely failed to apply to the Boss.
“Hmm, rember to eat. Oh, and Xiaojing has been having a poor appetite these past few days—don’t let him eat snacks,” Jian Qing instructed.
Quan Jingwu, “I know.”
“Then get on with your eting, and I’ll call you when you get ho.”
“Alright.”
Watching Quan Jingwu hang up the call, Shen Hao and the others instantly resud their serious faces and, in a tacit agreent, picked up their docunts to continue the eting.
Jian Qing put down her phone as the Servant brought her the food.
She picked up her chopsticks. Looking at the steaming dishes before her, she suddenly missed her two little treasures at ho.
“Dear Jian, long ti no see, ha.”
That characteristic voice carried a warm enthusiasm. Without looking, Jian Qing knew who it was.
“Pretty Auntie!”
The sweet voice followed imdiately after. Jian Qing looked up and saw Maomao running ahead, her red lips curving into a light smile.
The little miss had her hair tied into several braids that swung as she ran, which, together with her bright and spirited little face, made her look ever so lively.
“Maomao!”
“Tsk tsk, isn’t that a bit too much of a double standard? So enthusiastic about Maomao, but so cold towards , truly heartbreaking,” Xiya said leisurely as she walked in, pretending to be offended.
“Who told you not to be as good-looking as Maomao,” Jian Qing wiped her mouth, picked up Maomao, and lightly scraped her nose with her finger, “Maomao, what do you want to eat?”
Maomao tilted her head, thought for a mont, “KFC.”
“Alright, auntie will buy it for you.” Jian Qing looked towards a servant standing by, and without opening her mouth, the servant nodded understandingly and quickly walked out.
“If your daddy finds out, your snacks are dood,” Xiya complained as she watched her daughter’s beaming expression.
“Pretty auntie said it’s okay.” Maomao, the little lady, was quite clever and simply quoted Jian Qing.
Xiya’s mouth twitched.
This cunning little thing.
“Xiya, Maomao does take after you in that regard,” Jian Qing said, holding back laughter.
Xiya adamantly denied it, “No, who said that.”
“How co it’s just the two of you, where’s Khan?”
Xiya touched her nose, “His mother ca.”
Jian Qing made an oh sound, full of implications, “So it’s ti to et the parents. You’re not nervous, are you?”
“Cough cough, like you weren’t nervous your first ti eting the parents,” Xiya said awkwardly.
Jian Qing’s lips curled up, noncommittal.
“Does Khan’s mother not know about your relationship?”
“She knows, but since we haven’t gotten our marriage certificate, eting parents still feels a bit odd,” Xiya explained, leaning back on the couch.
“Speaking of which, Maomao has t her grandmother already. How co you, the future daughter-in-law, haven’t t your mother-in-law yet, huh?” Jian Qing teased, observing her rare mont of gloominess.
“What’s there to be afraid of with Khan there?”
Xiya snorted, “I am more afraid precisely because he’s there.”
That guy seized every chance to nag her about getting the marriage certificate or planning the wedding, until she was practically sick of hearing it.
“Are you afraid his mother will press you to get the certificate?” Jian Qing asked.
“It’s not entirely that reason,” Xiya restlessly said, propping her cheek in her hand, “I think I might have a fear of marriage.”
“The child is big enough to fetch soy sauce, don’t you think it’s a bit late to say that? Besides, you’re living together now, apart from not having a marriage certificate, how is it any different from a married couple?” Jian Qing retorted.
Xiya was speechless in response.
After a mont, she asked in a subdued voice, “Do you also think I should get the certificate with him?”
“Why are you asking
this, the one getting the certificate isn’t ,” Jian Qing said while playing with Maomao, “You guys better not get overtaken by Bai Jue and Mingyan, that would be really la.”
“What’s the big deal? In the end, if anyone’s going to be upset, it’s Khan, not ,” Xiya said indifferently, “Mingyan just forgives Bai Jue too easily. She should have made him suffer a little longer, that philandering carrot.”
“Oh co on, they’ve finally co together after so much trouble, just spare Bai Jue already,” Jian Qing said.
Xiya grunted in response.
Just then, the KFC that Maomao asked for arrived.
Even through the bag, one could sll the scent of hamburgers and fries.
Xiya couldn’t resist and grabbed a pack of fries to eat. Jian Qing gave her a look, “You were just talking about Maomao, and here you are eating too.”
“I’m hungry,” Xiya said with a pitiful look.
“Mommy, beauties shouldn’t eat these, they can make you fat if you eat too much,” Maomao said, her words muffled as she munched on the hamburger.
Xiya nearly choked on the fries in her mouth and felt very frustrated, “Cough cough, then why are you eating? If you eat too much, you’ll beco a little fatty too.”
Jian Qing looked at her with a full head of black lines, embarrassed by her own daughter’s sharp tongue.
“It’s okay, I’m still a baby, I will slim down when I grow up,” Maomao confidently stated, holding her head high with a proud tilt, her little braids swaying, “Besides, daddy said even if Maomao gets chubby, I’ll still be his most loved little princess.”
