Chapter 806: Goudan (2)
Quan Mingxuan gave a sheepish smile, “Really? I don’t rember that.”
After finishing her tonic, Jian Qing set down the bowl, reached out for a small piece of dim sum, and started nibbling on it. Seeing how much she enjoyed it, Rhee pushed several plates of small pastries toward her.
“Little Qingqing, eat more. You’ll need the strength when it cos ti to give birth.”
“Oh, have you two thought of nas for the babies?” Quan Mingxuan asked curiously.
He had seen his grandfather looking through a dictionary every day, obviously very enthusiastic about the task of naming the babies.
Jian Qing shook her head, “Not yet, we’re letting Xiaojing pick them.”
“Third brother, have you co up with anything?” Quan Mingxuan turned his gaze to Quan Jingwu, sparkling with anticipation.
Quan Jingwu cast him a cool glance, “What’s the rush?”
“Of course there’s a rush. Little Qingqing is already over six months along, and if we don’t hurry up, the babies will be here. Grandpa is looking through the dictionary every day. Why don’t you discuss it with him?” Rhee looked at Jian Qing’s round, pregnant belly with joy.
Just a couple more months and she would be a grandmother. Even the thought of it made her radiantly happy.
Quan Jingwu said, “No need, I have so ideas.”
“Then have you picked any nicknas for the child?” Quan Mingxuan asked again.
Jian Qing nodded, “Xiaojing has chosen them.”
“What are they?” the three elders asked in unison.
“I don’t know; Xiaojing hasn’t told .” After finishing one piece of dim sum, Jian Qing reached for another of a different flavor.
Quan Mingxuan couldn’t wait and asked, “Jingwu, what nicknas have you chosen?”
Rhee and the old lady were also full of curiosity.
Quan Jingwu glanced at them and murmured, “It’s a secret.”
Damn it.
He’s even keeping that a secret.
Quan Mingxuan was floored.
“What’s there to keep secret about a baby’s nickna? We aren’t strangers,” Rhee glared at Quan Jingwu, voicing her irritation.
Jian Qing stopped nibbling on her dim sum, looked up at Quan Jingwu with clear eyes, “Xiaojing, what on earth did you pick for their nicknas? Tell us, please.”
“You’ll find out once the baby is born.” Quan Jingwu patted her head but still refused to reveal the baby’s nickna.
Jian Qing turned to Quan Mingxuan and the others with a resigned smile.
She was out of options.
But she was truly curious about what nicknas he had chosen for the babies to warrant such secrecy.
Quan Mingxuan teased Quan Jingwu, “Jingwu, don’t tell
you’ve chosen so ridiculous nicknas for your son, and that’s why you’re keeping it a secret because you’re too embarrassed to say.”
Rhee nodded in agreent, harboring the sa suspicion.
“Could it be sothing like Goudan, Sweet Rice Dumpling, or Stead Bun?” Quan Mingxuan asked, barely holding back a laugh.
His words successfully made Jian Qing choke.
“Cough cough cough…”
Goudan?
What the hell is that?
How could he even say that?
Quan Jingwu gently patted her back, shooting a cold glance at Quan Mingxuan, “I think Goudan would be more suitable for your son.”
If he dared to na his son that, he’d eradicate him.
Quan Mingxuan shrugged his shoulders, and a playful, nonchalant smile curled up at the corner of his mouth, “I would like to na my son, but that’s contingent on finding a wife first.”
Jian Qing couldn’t tease out the nickna either, so Rhee and the others had to give up as well. After all, they would naturally find out once the babies were born.
“Little Qingqing, have you decided whether to have a cesarean section or natural childbirth?” Rhee inquired.
Jian Qing shook her head, “Not yet, but Director Wan has told
the baby’s position is correct, and recomnds natural childbirth. I also think natural childbirth is better since a cesarean might make the wound more troubleso.”
Rhee said, “A cesarean section would indeed be more complicated post-surgery. While natural childbirth is more painful during the process, you’ll feel more at ease afterward. But I have to tell you, giving birth is really painful. You have to be ntally prepared. When I was giving birth to Xiaojing, the pain almost knocked
out, and it took a whole five hours.”
Just thinking about it brings back a flood of bitter tears.
Listenting to her, Jian Qing wasn’t too scared, but Quan Jingwu, hearing Rhee’s words, his handso face turned a shade paler, and he gripped Jian Qing’s hand tighter.
To the uninford, it would appear that he was the one giving birth.
He blurted out a question that seed to lower his IQ, “Isn’t there any other way to do it without pain?”
“…”
Rhee’s lips twitched, and she rolled her eyes at him.
If there was a way to give birth without pain, she wouldn’t have suffered so much bringing him into the world.
“Jingwu, they say a woman giving birth is like having one foot in the Ghost Gate; how could it possibly be painless? If it were painless, those pregnant won wouldn’t cry as if their souls were being torn apart during childbirth,” Quan Mingxuan looked at him with an eye that seed to be gazing at an idiot.
Hearing this, Quan Jingwu’s brows furrowed even more tightly, his face beca tense, and he looked as if he were bracing for battle, which made Jian Qing laugh.
She held his hand back and gently said, “Xiaojing, don’t worry, Director Wan is very experienced, nothing will happen to .”
Quan Jingwu still frowned, concern flashing in his eyes. He humd an acknowledgnt but had made up his mind to have Shen Hao bring in the best gynecologists from China.
…
An Family
“What, not cooperating with taking dication?” Zhao Xuan returned from having afternoon tea outside and hadn’t even stepped into the living room when she received a call from the hospital.
Her expression darkened, “If he refuses to take it, force it down his throat. Whatever thods you use, make sure he takes his dicine and keep him alive.”
After hanging up, a cold gleam crossed the depths of her eyes.
She still hadn’t figured out what An Man was scheming with her gourd dicine, but before then, she needed to keep Xiang Cheng alive. He was the best trump card to hold against An Man.
As she ascended the steps and approached the living room, she faintly heard voices coming from inside.
“Master, Lawyer Li has revised and prepared all the docunts, when would you like him to co over?”
Recognizing Uncle Autumn’s voice, she hid herself behind a potted plant, eavesdropping intently on the conversation inside.
“Cough cough, let him co over tomorrow,” the old patriarch of the An family coughed a few tis, his voice hoarse, “I don’t know how much longer this old body will hold up. It’s better to settle these affairs sooner, it will ease my mind.”
Zhao Xuan’s eyes darkened. Was the old patriarch planning to quietly distribute sothing else to Jian Qing and her brother?
“Aqiu, take the rest of the peace amulet to Qingqing later.” Thinking of the child in Jian Qing’s womb, a gentle smile appeared on the old patriarch’s face.
Two little buns are wonderful!
Uncle Autumn asked with a hint of confusion, “Master, aren’t you going to visit Miss Qing?”
“No, I’ve not been feeling well these past two days. I wouldn’t want to bring her bad luck,” replied the old patriarch.
Uncle Autumn, “Then I’ll deliver the amulet to her later.”
“Hmm, I’ll go rest in my room for a bit.”
Once the voices in the living room ceased, Zhao Xuan stepped out from behind the plants, her hand tight on her phone, her eyes flashing ruthlessly.
Old patriarch, you’d better be fair to Ayun and Yuyu or don’t bla
for being heartless and undutiful.
