Xi An’an couldn’t be bothered to argue with them and turned her gaze to the middle-aged man beside her, her nominal uncle Xi Yuan, and spoke in an indifferent voice, “After I have seen Great-Grandfather, I will naturally leave.”
“No, the old man is already resting now; he cannot be disturbed.” Xi Yuan hadn’t spoken, but Lin Juan interjected.

“An’an.” Xu Ran caught up, and seeing a big crowd ganging up on Xi An’an alone, anger surged up in her.

Because of Xi An’an, the Xi family recognized Xu Ran and knew she was Xi An’an’s agent; they showed no good face toward her either.

“Mrs. Xi, An’an just wants to see Great-Grandfather Xi. Whether she can enter or not is not for you to decide; that should be up to Great-Grandfather Xi,” they were many and powerful, but Xu Ran was not intimidated and retorted directly.
“Who are you to talk to ,” Lin Juan snapped sharply, “An outsider like you has no place to interfere with our Xi family’s business.”
“Xu sister.” Xi An’an held Xu Ran’s hand, took a step forward, and looked at Lin Juan with a calm face, “I won’t fight with you over the Xi family’s property, I just want to see Great-Grandfather. Please step aside.”
They were going to such lengths to prevent her from seeing the old man, simply because they feared he might leave the property to her, and she did not hope to reason with a bunch of people blinded by money.

“Just go away, or else I’ll have the bodyguards throw you out.”

Suddenly, a harsh ringing sounded in the ward.
Everyone’s expression changed, and before they could react, doctors and nurses rushed over.

Xi An’an craned her neck, trying to catch a glimpse of the old man; the piercing ring made her heart rise to her throat.
“Xi An’an, it’s all your fault; you’re a jinx. Great-Grandfather was fine before you ca; just get out of here now,” Xi Yu turned around, her words sharp and spiteful as she extended her hand to push Xi An’an.
“Hey, speak if you’re going to speak, but don’t start pushing and shoving,” Xu Ran protected Xi An’an, her gaze sweeping towards Xi Yu with displeasure.
Lin Juan glanced at the ward, worrying that the old Mr. Xi might wake up and want to see Xi An’an, potentially causing more trouble. She looked at the bodyguards not far away and commanded, “What are you standing there for, throw these two out.”
Xu Ran glanced at the towering bodyguards coming their way and tugged at Xi An’an’s arm, “An’an, let’s leave.”
There were many people in the Xi family; just the two of them could easily end up at a disadvantage here.
Xi An’an was unmoved, her eyes locked on the closed door of the ward.
“Xi An’an, can you not understand human speech?” Seeing that Xi An’an wasn’t leaving, Xi Yu couldn’t help but step forward and shove her.
“Stop her,” naturally, Lin Juan sided with her own daughter and gave the bodyguards a look.
Two bodyguards stretched out their hands to stop Xu Ran, the two big n bullying her, a single woman, and even Xu Ran’s good temperant reached its limit.
“Let
go, you’re using your numbers against , have you no sha?”
Her feet in high heels kicked out wildly at the bodyguards, everyone else was pushing her this far, she wasn’t going to act the lady anymore.
Xi An’an forcefully brushed away Xi Yu’s hand, her gaze shooting sharply at Xi Yu, “Xi Yu, my patience has its limits, do you want to get hit?”
Her voice was as cold as frost, forbidding others to co near.
Xi Yu took a step back under her fierce gaze, then seeing that everyone around her was one of hers, she regained her confidence.

if you dare, you jinx.”
“Enough, stop this nonsense.” After a long silence, Xi Yuan finally could not hold back and spoke up, his dark expression as if sared with soot.
“An’an, you go back first, everything can wait until the old man wakes up.”
Xi An’an looked at him coldly, a trace of mockery crossing the depths of her eyes.
He said it with such a serious face.
One could almost believe his lies.
But in the current situation, they were determined not to let her see the old man, they had numbers on their side, and confronting them head-on would do her no good.

After pondering for a mont, Xi An’an reached out and pulled Xu Ran along, “Sister Xu, let’s go.”
Lin Juan watched her leave, and spat out disdainfully, “Good riddance.”
Leaving the hospital, Xi An’an sat on a bench under a tree, her head lowered, her long hair falling beside her cheeks, her furrowed brows partly visible.
Xu Ran ca back with coffee and sat down beside her, “An’an, your coffee.”
“Thank you.”
She said thanks and held the coffee, her red lips tightly pressed together.
“Don’t worry, the old man has his own good fortune, nothing will happen to him,” Xu Ran consoled, although she found the words hard to believe herself.
After all, the old man was of an advanced age, and no one could say for sure what might happen.
Xi An’an remained silent, lifting her head to look at the hospital’s entrance.
Suddenly, her gaze settled on a black sports car.
More precisely, it settled on the tall and upright figure beside it.
Wasn’t that the man she had spilled coffee on?
“An’an, what are you looking at?” Xu Ran followed her gaze, first startled, then her face lit up with surprise.
“It’s Quan Tianqi! I can’t believe I’m seeing Quan Tianqi, am I dreaming?”
“Sister Xu, you know him too?” Xi An’an asked, her eyes filled with doubt as she looked at her.
“Of course, that’s Quan Tianqi, the CEO of JK International. There are hardly a few people in China who don’t know him,” Xu Ran couldn’t hide her admiration for Quan Tianqi in her tone.
“An’an, the venue for your tour in Beijing also belongs to JK International.”
Xi An’an was astonished, the CEO of JK International?
“He really is more handso in person than in pictures,” Xu Ran exclaid admirably, watching the car fade away before finally looking away.
