Chapter 1086: Shanshan Side Story (13)
Where is it?
All of a sudden, her eyes lit up.
Oh, right, wasn’t this the usual conversation between Luoluo and Black Jack when they were little? Every ti Black Jack had to return to Y Country or another country during the holidays, at that ti, Luoluo had just stepped out of the shadow of her own mother’s car accident and was very fond of clinging to Black Jack. Every ti before Black Jack left, Jian Luo liked to ask, “Black Jack, when will you co back?”
Completely oblivious to the fact that her mommy was watching the drama play out, Shanshan was still imrsed in the sadness of not seeing Mu Chen for a long ti.
She grabbed Mu Chen’s hand and gave it a couple of shakes, “Mu Chen, can you co back for the New Year?”
Mu Chen saw the anticipation in her eyes and really wanted to nod and say yes, but reality didn’t allow it, and he couldn’t just make promises to her carelessly.
After so hesitation, he couldn’t bear it but had no choice but to shake his head, “I can’t co back for the New Year because I have things to do.”
Before he could finish speaking, a faint mist rose in the eyes of little Miss Shanshan, and teardrops swirled in her eyes, struggling hard not to let them escape.
“Then when can you co back to play with ?” asked a voice usually full of energy, now with a heavy nasal tone.
Mu Chen gave a wistful smile, his eyes swirling with sorrow, “Didn’t we agree? I’ll co back for your next birthday.”
“But that’s a long, long ti from now,” she muttered, unable to hold back her tears any longer, as they stread down her cheeks.
“Young master,”
Del, seeing Shanshan cry, showed a trace of reluctance on his face and handed a tissue to Mu Chen.
Even though it was only a brief afternoon, this little girl nad Shanshan was very endearing. Just by seeing his young master genuinely smile in front of her, he felt very grateful to this little girl.
Mu Chen took the tissue, cupped Shanshan’s little face, wiped her tears, and coaxed softly, “Shanshan, you have to be good. When your next birthday cos around, I’ll bring you an even better gift, okay?”
Shanshan cried even harder, hugging her teddy bear without saying a word.
Mu Chen looked on, feeling a sense of helplessness.
Jian Qing shook her head helplessly, walked over to relieve Mu Chen, sat down on the sofa, then reached out her arms to embrace Shanshan, whispering gently, “Shanshan, if you keep crying, you’ll turn into a little crybaby, and then you won’t be pretty. Mu Chen has a lot of things to do. Think about it, during the New Year, you’ll be with your daddy and mommy, right?”
Shanshan sniffled, her curled lashes still wet with tiny pearls, “Mm-hm.”
“Then Mu Chen will also be with his family for the New Year. When your birthday cos, he will be here. When he cos, you can invite him over to our house to play, and then you can ask him to teach you how to play gas, okay?” Jian Qing continued to console her.
Shanshan looked at Mu Chen, her eyes filled with reluctance, but she still nodded, “Okay.”
Mu Chen, seeing her stop crying, sent a grateful look to Jian Qing, then took the teddy bear and placed it in Shanshan’s arms.
“Shanshan, when I’m not here, let the teddy bear keep you company.”
“Mm-hm.” Shanshan’s tears turned to laughter.
Jian Qing took another tissue to wipe away the tear stains on her face and then stood up with her in her arms, “It’s getting late, we should be going now. Till next ti, Mu Chen.”
Mu Chen bowed politely, “Till next ti.”
“Mu Chen, bye-bye.” Shanshan got down from Jian Qing’s hold and waved her little hand at Mu Chen.
Mu Chen smiled faintly, “Take good care of yourself, and don’t get sick again.”
This ti, he still didn’t want to say goodbye.
Shanshan curved her lips, “Mm-hm.”
“Shanshan, let’s go.”
Jian Qing took Shanshan’s hand and walked out of the room, with Mu Chen following them to the door.
Halfway there, Shanshan suddenly rembered sothing and let go of Jian Qing’s hand, “Mommy, I still have sothing to ask Mu Chen, wait for
a second, okay?”
After saying that, she turned around and ran back.
Jian Qing looked at the teddy bear in her hand and smiled.
Mu Chen was just about to return to his room when he caught a glimpse of the little girl running towards him and paused.
“Mu Chen!”
The crisp and clear voice of a child ca through, as Shanshan stopped running, panting.
“Shanshan, why did you run back?” Mu Chen asked.
After catching her breath, Shanshan asked cheerfully, “Mu Chen, you haven’t told
when your birthday is yet. I want to prepare a birthday gift for you, too.”
“Prepare a birthday gift for ?” Mu Chen was a little surprised.
Shanshan nodded her little head and urged, “When is it?”
“February fourteenth,” Mu Chen said.
“I’ll rember it.” Shanshan gave him a bear hug, then bounced and skipped back to Jian Qing’s side and left with her.
Mu Chen watched her retreating figure, the corners of his mouth lifting into a faint smile.
Once seated in the car, Shanshan belatedly rembered that Mu Chen had not said goodbye to her again. She looked at the teddy bear in her arms and resolved to make sure that next ti she saw Mu Chen, she would get him to say it.
Jian Qing placed one hand on the steering wheel, about to start the car when her phone suddenly rang from nearby.
Without looking, she pressed to answer.
“Auntie, it’s Mu Chen.”
Jian Qing’s eyes creased into a smile, she humd in response, waiting for what he would say next.
“Auntie, I know you are very capable and can definitely find out soone’s background, but I have a request,” Mu Chen said calmly.
Jian Qing, “What is it?”
“If you find out everything related to , please don’t tell Shanshan. I don’t want her to be unhappy because of my matters,” Mu Chen said, standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the silver sports car below, his eyes unable to hide his reluctance.
“I know I’m weak now and don’t have the strength to protect Shanshan. I may even bring her trouble. I will wait until I truly beco strong before I seek her out again. After that, I will tell her everything about
myself, okay?”
On hearing this, Jian Qing looked up at the car mirror; Shanshan was gazing at the picture on the paw of the teddy bear. “Don’t worry, I won’t investigate you, and I won’t prevent you from being friends with Shanshan. You are welco to co play at our house next ti we et.”
Mu Chen felt warmth in his heart, “Thank you.”
“Be careful on your way back; you can contact
if you need anything,” Jian Qing said.
“Uh-huh.”
After hanging up, Mu Chen watched the silver sports car drive further and further away, his scarlet lips pressing into a cold arc.
“Young master, there has been a change,” Del said gravely.
Mu Chen turned, “What happened?”
Del hesitated, then decided to tell the truth, “The ashes of the master and mistress have been taken back by the family head’s people. Now, the people from the second and third branches are urging the family head to throw out your mother’s ashes and not allow them to remain in the main house.”
These people were simply outrageous. They caused the young master to lose his parents at such a young age, and now they were doing such an excessive thing; they were absolutely heartless.
