Chapter 140: Chapter 136: Containnt Breach Six

Restroom.

Like the corridor outside, it adhered to a palette of cold colors.

Inset bulbs on the ceiling flickered intermittently, bright then dim. The stench of blood mingled with the distinctive odors of the toilet assaulted the nostrils, almost making one vomit.

In the mirror was a square face, hair cut into the most ordinary of short styles, a broad nose, and full lips, with a cleanly-shaven beard.

This should have been the face of a typical middle-aged man, all too common.

But at this mont, his expression was grotesquely distorted. His eyes were bloodshot, his gaze clouded, his mouth stretched beyond the limits of his facial muscles, appearing as ferocious as a ghoul.

“Heh—hehe,”

he laughed sharply, with a high speed, like a jolt of electricity. Then, he thrust a finger into his own mouth, violently tearing at the corner of his lips… until they began to ooze blood. His eyes rolled back weirdly, displaying an absent expression typically only seen during monts of extre pleasure. At the sa ti, a faint sob erged from his throat.

Set against a large bloodstain on the wall behind him, it created a horrifyingly chilling atmosphere.

Suddenly, the lights above flickered rapidly once again, as if trembling.

In the interplay of light and shadow, a small switchblade slowly crept up to his neck.

After that…

It sank bit by bit into the flesh, then slowly carved out a tragic gash.

The man obviously saw the slowly andering knife, but he did not stop it. He just laughed, “Heh heh,” allowing it to slice open his throat.

In an instant, a massive spray of blood stained the mirror, then gushed down, covering the entire basin within seconds. And the man collapsed to the ground, as if all his bones had been withdrawn.

Behind him was a face… eerie, yet sohow bland…

Chen Xiao flicked the blood off the knife, then casually wiped it on his clothes… During this, he contorted his mouth aninglessly, unnaturally, as if chewing on his own tongue. His expression remained dull, neither cold nor flushed with excitent. In fact, his recent actions hadn’t provoked any emotion in him at all.

It was just slicing open a person’s neck.

Like cutting open an apple, then finding it rotten and carelessly tossing it aside.

Chen Xiao kicked the slightly botherso corpse with his foot. Moving to the mirror, he pressed his hand against the still warm blood and began to wipe it haphazardly.

Since the blood was still flowing, cleaning it up was quite strenuous. Chen Xiao looked displeased, frowning and moving his lips disgustingly, and then squeezed his tongue into the cut by the corner of his mouth. anwhile, his hand moved faster, flailing even more erratically, splattering blood everywhere.

After around half a minute, he finally cleared a small area of the mirror. Though sared with blood, it at least faintly reflected his image.

Chen Xiao adjusted the angle of his face. The mirror showed the lower half of a pale visage, almost completely filled by the gaping mouth. Chen Xiao looked on, his tongue once more sliding over the other corner of his mouth, appearing sowhat dissatisfied.

“Mmm————”

he groaned, dragging out the sound through his nose,

followed by pressing his blood-drenched fingertips against his lips.

Slowly… he sketched out a shocking arc.

A vivid crimson… perpetually laughing wide mouth.

A trickle of blood seeped down, starkly vivid against the pallor of his skin.

Chen Xiao seed much happier now.

So he began to laugh.

You could see him turn around—

hunching his back—

one hand carrying the silver pistol—

stepping over the person still spurting blood on the ground.

Blood trailed behind him…

spreading out————rging with another pool of blood.

Gazing around, the bathroom was already littered with bodies,

piled haphazardly on the ground. So, like the person just now, had their necks slit open; others were entwined in a struggle, hands clenched around each other’s necks, eyes bulging; so had their heads a bloody pulp, brains splattered on the walls; and others had their hands jamd into their own mouths, ripping their jaws apart with a ferocious tear.

Amidst this flickering scene, hellish in its appearance, Chen Xiao tip-toed across the gaps between corpses—

staggering over to the door.

He wrenched the door open.

The next second,

the white light from the corridor stread in, casting the hellish scene into even sharper relief.

Accompanying it ca a cacophony of screams! Maniacal laughter! Roars! Wails! Gunshots! Explosions!

An anarchic blend of sounds rged chaotically, mingled with gun smoke, blood, and severed limbs.

Hell?

No! This was more terrifying than hell!

The world before him had lost all reason. Everyone was consud by madness, doing incomprehensible things. In a corner, soone dropped a gun, wildly scribbling on the wall with blood from the floor, before a bullet from behind blew his head apart; atop a pile of bodies, several people with wounds all over laughed hysterically, holding down another person, viciously biting into the flesh of the face, shaking their heads like wild beasts to tear it apart; at the end of the corridor, soone clutched their freshly blown-off calf, stabbing the jagged bone into another person’s body, blood flying as they laughed maniacally, then twisted their remaining limbs strangely and plunged a knife into their own chest.

Such scenes unfolded in every corridor corner; everyone had turned into unimaginable creatures.

No, they weren’t even creatures anymore, for the very concept of being alive was absent from their minds—

they were rely insane;

chaotic;

laughing maniacally;

killing others;

then killing themselves.

“Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah!!!”

“Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!”

The sounds rose and fell—

as if laughter was contagious,

as was madness.

And no one could escape it.

Because madness was ingrained in human thought; it was the cornerstone deliberately left behind when all things were created—

buried deep, heavily wrapped, brilliantly disguised, cunningly concealed.

But it was always there.

Everyone carried the explosive madness within, and to trigger it, just a tiny spark was needed

Chen Xiao staggered onto the corridor, gazing at the absurd madness before him, sniffing the foul, bloody air around him, listening to the indistinct screams beside him.

He cracked a satisfied smile—

two crimson lines tore through, starkly conspicuous.

He took a step forward.

Several people crawling on the ground saw him, their faces still contorted in spasms—

but in that instant, their gazes changed dramatically again.

Like a wildfire racing through their consciousness, endless madness reignited, instantly burning away all other thoughts.

Their eyes grew even more excited, turning into bright red dots under the dazzling light. The next second, they charged at each other with roars, turning into mad bulls and wild dogs.

Chen Xiao closed his eyes—opened his arms—spun around in a distorted twirl completely devoid of grace.

Then, as if he noticed sothing,

he looked towards the upper right corner,

followed by a polite wave of his hand,

“Hi~”
