Chapter 220: Minotaur (2)
Chapter 218
The Minotaur stared at the approaching Felix calmly, as if the boy was a re pest.
Then, with minimal effort, it lifted its mace in front of its face, absorbing the impact from the werewolf’s blow.
A low boom echoed through the cavern as the strike connected with the spikes on the mace, piercing through the werewolf’s fist and drawing blood instantly.
Swinging its massive hand to the side, the beast attempted to throw Felix away from its weapon.
The werewolf anticipated the move, leaping back just in ti to avoid being caught in the follow-through.
He kept a safe distance for fear of a counterattack—which ca the very mont his feet touched the ground.
The mace was whipping from the side with such imnse speed that it even took the werewolf by surprise for a mont.
’I know it’s a King rank beast, but how can it be so damn fast?’ Before the mace could connect and shatter Felix’s ribs, Trish was already there with her sword drawn and ready.
Clang—!
The Minotaur blinked for a mont, staring down to see an ice-covered blade deflecting its crushing blow to the side.
Gritting her teeth against the staggering vibration of the impact, the Ice Queen bolted forward with a straight thrust aid toward the beast’s exposed chest.
Swoosh—!
With uncanny agility, the King ranked beast swerved to the side, allowing the sword to strike nothing but thin air where it had stood a mont ago.
Without hesitation, the beast brought its mace down atop her with crushing velocity, only for Caster to dash forward with incredible speed.
He grabbed Trish and, with a fierce kick against the stone floor, they leaped away, dodging the mace by the skin of their teeth as the weapon shattered the ground where they had been standing.
"Look at !" A roar was heard from above, successfully drawing the beast’s attention.
Ray was in the air with a determined smirk on his face.
With his gauntlets equipped, he proceeded to hamr his fists into the head of the beast with full force.
However, the blow did nothing to the Minotaur; it tanked the hit without so much as a flinch.
Whooosh—!
The mace hauled upward from below, streaking toward the boy’s head like a rising cot.
With impressive agility, Ray pushed off from the beast’s skull and flipped through the air, landing a few ters away and dodging the lethal blow by the narrowest of margins.
The Minotaur’s eyes rolled to the side, catching sight of Felix, who was coming in again with a hot punch aid at its exposed side.
A single blink.
And in the next second, the beast wasn’t there anymore, causing Felix to freeze for a mont as the Minotaur displayed a crazy level of speed.
Only for his hairs to suddenly rise up as he sensed a presence behind him.
He turned around to see the mace already descending toward his head.
Left with no other option, the werewolf was forced to cross his arms above his face just in ti as the mace smashed into his guard.
Felix’s eyes widened as the ground cracked under his weight.
Sothing else cracked too.
His hands! Before he could even register the pain, a powerful kick shattered into his chest, sending his body flying into a wall and cracking the stone severely.
Blood trickled down the werewolf’s mouth as he slumped against the rock.
Everybody was shocked, pausing for just the slightest of monts to look between the beast and the fallen Felix.
Only one person didn’t pause for even a second.
Ray!
Rushing forward at full speed, he made it in front of the beast.
Wasting no ti, claws of obsidian energy burst forth, rocketing toward the creature’s face.
The Minotaur stared at the energy for a second before swatting the projectiles away calmly, like a trained swordsman of so sort.
Its movents were fluid as it batted away each of the energy strikes before they could reach their target.
Mid-hit, Ray weaved in between its hulking legs and vaulted into the air, swinging his leg forward in a swift roundhouse kick.
Turning its head around, the beast glared directly at Ray.
The Aspirant saw his life flash before his eyes and quickly transitioned from the roundhouse kick into a push kick against the beast’s shoulder, a move that propelled his body backward and allowed him to land safely away from the Minotaur.
"Damn. What do we do?"
Tak. Tak. Tak.
The sound of footsteps rushing forward echoed through the chamber, and everybody turned around to see a female with an ice-cold expression on her face.
Her sword was flying behind her as if weightless, while her every step was laced with a thin layer of frost.
When she was within reach, she sliced from the side, aiming specifically for the beast’s broad shoulder.
The Minotaur leaned to the side with deceptive fluidity, avoiding the blow.
Trish was unrelenting, however; she imdiately pivoted and swung from below toward the beast’s exposed abdon.
Clang!
The heavy mace intercepted the steel blow with a jarring ring.
The beast’s leg twitched, coiled and ready to deal a devastating kick toward the girl.
Before the monster could even lift its limb, Ray suddenly appeared at the side of the creature and proceeded to bash his shoulders into the Minotaur, sending the massive entity sliding a few inches to the side.
An arrow whistled toward its head, but with a casual tilt of its skull, the projectile flew harmlessly past.
Then—
Whoosh—! Whoosh—! Whoosh—!
More than a dozen lines of obsidian energy rocketed toward the beast from the flank, which very nearly connected.
Almost!
The Minotaur turned to stare in the direction from where they were originating.
It was Felix, who had finally managed to peel himself from the wall.
Weaving in between the streaks of energy, the beast ducked, leaned, and leaped to the side, avoiding every single one with terrifying precision.
All the while, it was closing in on the boy who was sending the projectiles his way.
Lifting its mace with both hands, the beast flared its nostrils once and hurled the weapon toward the werewolf’s neck.
Before it could connect, the Minotaur’s eyes rolled to the side, catching sight of soone new.
A flash of blonde hair.
Before it could react, the boy leaped into the air.
Crystal began forming around his feet at trendous speed and then—
Bang—! Bang—!
He landed a simultaneous double kick into the beast’s face, the impact sending it sliding backward and away from Felix.
Landing firmly in front of the werewolf was Kai.
His eyes were gleaming dangerously as he held out his palm in the direction of the sliding monster.
Then....
BANG—!
A column of jagged crystals burst forth with trendous speed and, within a second, shattered against the Minotaur’s face.
The force pushed the beast to the side, only to reveal Trish waiting in that exact area.
Her sword was already sheathed.
In her hand?
A club of thick, reinforced ice, which she was now hauling toward the beast at a deadly velocity.
