Chapter 11: Your legs are so white.

Bei Sheng was surprised to see Shang Hexing actually beco angry.

It was only when she turned her head to look at Wen Zhi that she realized the little girl had been frightened by her previous “indecent behavior” and had a terrified look on her face, as if she was about to cry.

Feeling dejected, Bei Sheng introduced herself to Wen Zhi, “I’m Bei Sheng, one of us, don’t be scared.

Wen Zhi looked baffled, “What do you an, one of us?”

Now it was Bei Sheng’s turn to be confused, she looked up at Shang Hexing, “Boss, who is she?”

Shang Hexing gave Bei Sheng a look, his anger unabated.

Chen Jinhai, keenly aware of the situation, pulled Bei Sheng back, “Don’t ask about things you shouldn’t.”

Bei Sheng understood.

This little girl’s identity was a bit special.

Connecting this to Chen Jinhai’s earlier reminder on their way here, Bei Sheng caught on quickly and hence spoke very seriously, “Boss, I don’t know how to treat wounds.”

Chen Jinhai nearly choked on his own saliva, he hurriedly tugged at Bei Sheng’s hand, lowering his voice, “Are you crazy?”

Bei Sheng looked puzzled, “Isn’t that what you wanted

to say?”

Chen Jinhai glared at Bei Sheng, “Can’t you adapt to the situation?”

What he ant was that Mr. Shang was already angry!

Bei Sheng covered her mouth, “Oh, I didn’t realize.”

“…” Chen Jinhai felt like going mad, “I think you’ve been living here too long, your brain has stopped working.”

Bei Sheng looked displeased, “You know and yet you say it, indeed I haven’t left the house in a long ti.”

Shang Hexing stared at the bickering pair, “Too much talk.”

Bei Sheng and Chen Jinhai exchanged a look and in unison made a zipping motion across their lips.

Peace at last.

The atmosphere quietened down.

Shang Hexing looked at Wen Zhi, his gaze moving downward, lingering on her trouser leg, “Roll it up yourself.”

Wen Zhi shook her head, “It’s just a minor scrape, it’s nothing, I can walk back now.”

Shang Hexing repeated the sa three words, “Roll it up.”

“…”

Actually, for Wen Zhi, Shang Hexing’s deanor wasn’t really oppressive, he was already being quite gentle, but with his aura set like that, she subconsciously complied.

Seeing Wen Zhi not moving, Shang Hexing crouched down in front of her. Wen Zhi was initially stunned, but when she saw his outstretched hand, she imdiately understood what he ant and hurriedly bent down, “I’ll roll it up.”

As she leaned forward, she nearly bumped her head against Shang Hexing’s face, he sidestepped to avoid, reminding her, “Be careful.”

“Oh.”

Wen Zhi began to roll up her trouser leg herself, slowly but surely.

Her skin was a cool pale tone, revealing a section of leg that was white and delicate as she rolled up the fabric, Shang Hexing’s gaze deepened a little upon seeing it.

Until the trouser leg was rolled past the knee, exposing a red patch where the skin had been broken, oozing so blood.

Shang Hexing frowned, “You call this nothing?”

Wen Zhi forced a smile, “Actually, it doesn’t hurt.” Yeah, right!

She had only just seen the wound herself, thinking it was just pain before, but now saw that it had started bleeding.

She wanted to take a closer look, but Shang Hexing warned her, “Don’t move.”

Then he stood up, signaling to Bei Sheng who was standing aside, “Treat her wound properly, don’t let it get infected.”

Bei Sheng was still stunned until Chen Jinhai nudged her, jolting her into action, and she quickly grabbed the dical kit and went over.

“How did you get hurt?” Bei Sheng squatted down in front of Wen Zhi, opening the dical kit and searching for iodophor.

Wen Zhi, watching Bei Sheng’s adept movents, answered, “I fell by accident.”

Bei Sheng looked up, “You fell on flat ground?”

Wen Zhi pressed her lips together, her gaze slowly shifting towards Chen Jinhai; following Wen Zhi’s gaze, Bei Sheng asked, “Did you do this?”

Chen Jinhai had an innocent expression, casting sideways glances nearby.

Bei Sheng withdrew her gaze, dampened the iodine tincture, and wiped the wound, “Oh, then there’s nothing to worry about.”

“Hss…”

As the iodine touched the wound, it felt like millions of ants gnawing simultaneously, causing Wen Zhi to sharply inhale from the pain.

Bei Sheng comforted her, “It’ll only hurt for a mont and then it will be fine. It’s normal to feel pain when iodine is sprayed on a fresh wound.”

Wen Zhi nodded.

Bei Sheng had professional techniques and quickly disinfected the wound. Such scrapes didn’t need bandaging, just prevention of bacterial infection.

“It’s not a big issue, but it will certainly hurt for a couple of days. This is all normal, don’t worry.” Bei Sheng put away the iodine and rummaged through the dicine box to hand a tube of ointnt to Wen Zhi: “Take this erythromycin ointnt, apply it twice a day; it should heal more quickly.”

Wen Zhi accepted it: “Thank you.”

Bei Sheng: “Call

‘sister.'”

Wen Zhi pursed her lips slightly: “Thank you, Sister.”

Bei Sheng: “Your legs are so white.”

Wen Zhi: “…”

Bei Sheng couldn’t resist teasing Wen Zhi. She just looked so easy to bully. If she were any prettier, it would be downright lethal.

“All right, stand up and walk normally, there’s no need to focus your attention on the wound,” Bei Sheng said as she packed up the dicine box and stood up.

Wen Zhi was about to get up when Bei Sheng suddenly changed her mind and turned to Chen Jinhai, “How about you carry her back to rest? It’s quite painful to walk after a fall; it should feel better by tomorrow.”

Chen Jinhai’s eyes widened, “Didn’t you just say…”

Bei Sheng eyed him, “Girls tend to be more fragile, after all. You, a big man, couldn’t possibly lack the strength to carry soone, right?”

Wen Zhi quickly interjected, “No need, it’s not that serious; I can walk back on my own.”

“The scrape isn’t serious, but it hurts,” Bei Sheng said with a smile, looking at Wen Zhi. “Letting him carry you back doesn’t cost money, and it saves you the pain.”

Chen Jinhai was about to panic: “It’s just that I…”

“You surely can’t expect the boss to carry her, can you?” Bei Sheng suddenly made this comnt.

After saying that, she purposely turned to glance at Shang Hexing.

All along, Shang Hexing stood aside like soone unrelated to the issue, watching silently. His gaze, lofty and detached from worldly affairs, held no pity and seed to show no intention of concerning himself with how Wen Zhi got by.

He was just waiting for matters to conclude before leaving.

Bei Sheng suddenly realized her joking had gone too far; the boss probably didn’t have that kind of interest in this young lady.

Bei Sheng hastily tossed the dicine box to Chen Jinhai and turned to Wen Zhi, “I’ll take you back.”

Wen Zhi also sensed the change in atmosphere. Being able to leave sooner was certainly better, so she agreed: “I would appreciate that.”

“Heh, it’s nothing,” Bei Sheng said dismissively.

With Bei Sheng’s help, Wen Zhi made her way out and said to Shang Hexing before leaving, “Thank you, Mr. Shang, I’ll be going back now.”

Shang Hexing didn’t look at her but responded with a simple “Hmm.”

After Wen Zhi and Bei Sheng left, Chen Jinhai approached to inquire, “Mr. Shang, are you leaving tonight?”

Shang Hexing looked at his wristwatch, his expression weary, “I’m not leaving.”

Exactly why he chose to stay, he wasn’t sure.

It was probably concern.

Before heading back to his room, he reminded Chen Jinhai, “Send a late-night snack to Wen Zhi’s place.”

Chen Jinhai imdiately understood, “So Miss Wen went out at this hour because she was hungry. With Zhao Qin suddenly sent away tonight, no one was there to look after Miss Wen.”

Shang Hexing descended the stairs, “Assign soone clever to deliver her three als a day on schedule. If anyone asks, just say it’s on ng Fan’s behalf.”

Usually, it was Zhao Qin’s responsibility to bring als to Wen Zhi. Now that soone else had to be arranged, Chong Wanyin would surely be inquisitive if she found out.

It was most appropriate to have ng Fan in the middle as a buffer.

“Make the arrangents as soon as possible,” Shang Hexing said as he continued back to his dwelling.

Chen Jinhai affird, “Yes.”
