Shen Yaxuan began, “I’ve sent people to investigate these nine individuals recently. So far, six of them have been cleared of suspicion, leaving three that need further verification.”
Upon hearing this, Bo Jingyan furrowed his brow.
After a mont of contemplation, he suddenly thought of sothing. He pulled open a drawer and took out a photo of Xia Qingtian. Handing it directly to Shen Yaxuan, he asked coolly, “Does she figure among these three people?”
Shen Yaxuan cast his gaze downward and landed on the photo. Upon seeing the image, he was suddenly taken aback.
Isn’t this a photo of Xia Qingtian?

Unable to help it, Shen Yaxuan frowned as he noticed that the background of the photo was from the surveillance footage of the hotel he was currently investigating.
It quickly dawned on him.
This photo was one of the nine he had previously brought to Bo Jingyan!
After returning that ti, he found there were only eight photos left and thought he had lost one, so he had his subordinates make another copy.
It never occurred to him that it had been kept by Bo Jingyan!

Suppressing his surprise, he responded naturally by shaking his head and cautiously said, “No, she is one of those three people. I was just wondering, Jingyan… is there anything special about the woman in this photo?”
Upon hearing no useful information, the frown on Bo Jingyan’s face deepened.
He placed the photo back on the table and expressed in a cold tone, “I suspect she is the woman from the hotel that night. You need to investigate this further for !”

Upon hearing this, Shen Yaxuan’s complexion montarily shifted.
Maintaining his composure, he nodded and his voice involuntarily dropped, “Alright, I will certainly investigate this thoroughly.”
“I appreciate your efforts.” Bo Jingyan nodded while placing the photo back in the drawer.
Shen Yaxuan appeared dazed, but chose not to say any more.
He was sowhat distracted while conversing with Bo Jingyan, as his mind was preoccupied with Xia Qingtian. In order to prevent any emotional exposure, he excused himself on the premise of having sothing to do.
Bo Jingyan made no objection; he watched him leave the study.
Once in the corridor, Shen Yaxuan’s brows were severely furrowed. As he thought about the recent turn of events, he felt an imdiate heaviness consu him and his pace slowed.

After having prepared dinner, Xia Qingtian let the maid carry the dishes to the dining table. Seeing that Bo Jingyan had not co downstairs yet, she decided to go up and call him.
Just as she was about to ascend the stairs, a silhouette was seen descending.
Assuming that Bo Jingyan was the one approaching, she didn’t give it a second thought and greeted, “Mr. Bo, dinner has…” been prepared.
She abruptly cut her sentence short.
Xia Qingtian stood frozen in place, her gaze fixated on the man descending the staircase. Her pupils contracted with shock etched across her face.

When did he get here?!
Shen Yaxuan stood on the stairs, looking down at Xia Qingtian with a surprised glint in his eyes. It was quickly replaced by a sense of delight.
He was considering descending the stairs to greet her.
But once he realized that she could be the woman Bo Jingyan was seeking, the woman who was involved with Bo Jingyan that fateful night, he imdiately contained his excitent.
Suppressing his exuberance, Shen Yaxuan composed himself and asked her, “What brings you here?”
“I…” Xia Qingtian opened her mouth, but she hadn’t quite recovered from her shock yet.
She didn’t expect to co face to face with Shen Yaxuan here.
Shen Yaxuan scrutinized her from head-to-toe before cautiously asking, “Are you working for Jingyan?”
He had heard that Jingyan recently hired a private chef and didn’t dine out with them anymore, choosing to have als at ho instead.
Given Xia Qingtian’s attire, could it be that this new private chef was…
“Yes, I cook for Bo Jingyan.” Xia Qingtian snapped out of her stupor and nodded, giving a sowhat absentminded response.
She shifted uncomfortably on the staircase, apprehensive about being discovered by Bo Jingyan. She therefore wanted to find an excuse to escape.
But then she thought, this was a golden opportunity!
She had previously noticed the tattoo on Bo Jingyan’s lower back. So, there was a high probability that Bo Jingyan was the man from the hotel that night. But what about Shen Yaxuan…
Today, she could use this chance to ask him about the hotel incident and the tattoo!
Thinking this, Xia Qingtian raised her head and glanced at him nervously. With chosen words, she bashfully asked, “Um…Mr. Shen, may I ask you a question?”
She felt that Shen Yaxuan wasn’t as excited as during their first encounter. Maybe this was a good opportunity to inquire about the hotel incident.
Hearing her soft voice, Shen Yaxuan couldn’t help breaking into a subtle smile. His gentle gaze rested on her as he warmly responded, “Go ahead.”
“Do you have any tattoos?” Xia Qingtian asked tentatively.

At the mont, she didn’t know much about Shen Yaxuan. As a precaution, she couldn’t reveal too much.
With that in mind, Xia Qingtian quickly searched for a deflection in her thoughts, wanting to co up with an excuse to drop the matter.
Seeing her silent, Shen Yaxuan didn’t wish to dampen the mood, so he asked, “What kind of tattoo are you asking about?”
“It’s a…”
“Mr. Shen.” Xia Qingtian was cut off by the Butler who was descending the stairs.
The Butler looked at Shen Yaxuan and smiled kindly, “Young Master has sothing for you, and I have sent soone to put them in your car.”
Shen Yaxuan looked up at the Butler and nodded before turning to Xia Qingtian and asking softly, “What were you saying?”
“It was nothing.” Upon noticing the Butler’s presence, Xia Qingtian thought it would be inappropriate to discuss the eagle tattoo, so she ended the conversation by shaking her head.
Seeing this, Shen Yaxuan gave her a deep look, said nothing more, and went downstairs to leave.
Xia Qingtian watched him leave. When she looked up and noticed the Butler’s gaze, she forced a smile, fearing that he had noticed sothing. She then turned and walked in the direction of the kitchen.

Bo Jingyan stood in a corner, his gaze clouded and dark, filled with a hint of barely detectable anger.
Recalling the scene of Xia Qingtian and Shen Yaxuan talking and laughing together, he felt a surge of discomfort. He summoned the Butler to interrupt their conversation, concealing his uneasiness.
When did Xia Qingtian and Shen Yaxuan get to know each other?
Could they have been in contact privately?
As he thought about it, Bo Jingyan’s brow creased, his countenance turning gloomy. A predatory look flashed in his eyes as he descended the stairs with a stern face.
