Chapter 247: Chapter 247 Accepting Sanctions_1

A scream suddenly echoed from the villa.

Xia Qingtian jumped in fright. By the ti she composed herself, she saw Chen Momo clutching her stomach and slumped at the foot of the stairs.

Momo had just tried to push her, but Qingtian evaded, and she herself stumbled down the stairs due to her forward montum.

“It hurts so much!” Chen Momo clutched her belly, her face pale with pain.

She had initially planned to make Xia Qingtian lose her balance and miscarry, and then claim that the baby in her belly was Bo Jingyan’s. In this case, no one could confront her.

She could also claim that Xia Qingtian had fabricated the DNA paternity test results.

Then her secrets would never be exposed.

But she had never expected that she would be the one falling instead.

Xia Qingtian was shocked by this sudden turn of events, about to step forward to check the situation, when suddenly…

“What just happened?” Bo’s grandfather’s voice rang out.

Imdiately afterwards, he walked in from outside with the help of Zhang Bo. Upon seeing the situation, his face turned stern.

“Grandpa, save , my stomach hurts so much!” Chen Momo was crying and even her snot was flowing out.

The old Mr. Bo imdiately ordered the servants to carry Chen Momo to the car and rush her to the hospital.

Due to Bo’s grandfather’s poor health condition, Xia Qingtian worried but was refused, “Qingqing, you are pregnant now. Don’t follow us. I’m afraid it will scare you.”

Just as Chen Momo was lifted by the servants, a trace of blood was seen underneath her. Fearing that sothing unfortunate might happen to the baby in her stomach after arriving at the hospital, this might scare Xia Qingtian.

With no other option, Xia Qingtian stayed back in the old house.

Chen Momo was rushed to the best and biggest hospital in A City.

When Bo Jingyan rushed over after getting the news, Chen Momo was already in the operating room, fighting for her life. She was lucky enough to have the doctors successfully save her and the baby. She was then transferred to a normal ward.

Not long after, she regained consciousness.

When Chen Momo woke up and learned her baby was alright, she sighed in relief.

Thank goodness the baby was fine, otherwise she would lose her trump card in the struggle for Mrs. Bo’s position.

Bo’s grandfather then asked, “Momo, what on earth happened? How did you end up on the ground and almost miscarry?”

A hint of guilt flashed in Chen Momo’s eyes for fear of the old man and Bo Jingyan discovering that she had planned to make Xia Qingtian miscarriage but had got herself in trouble instead.

“It was …” Just as she was about to say that she fell from the stairs due to a misstep, she suddenly…

She thought of sothing and quickly changed her mind.

Chen Momo instantly put on an upset look and said sorrowfully, “It was Qingtian. Qingtian pushed

down the stairs.”

“Impossible, Qingqing would never do such a thing,” the old Mr. Bo imdiately refuted without a second thought.

He trusted Xia Qingtian.

Although Bo Jingyan did not speak, his penetrating gaze on Chen Momo’s face suggested that he agreed with his grandfather’s opinion and chose to believe Xia Qingtian.

Chen Momo bit her lip, suppressing her envy.

“I’m not lying, it really was Xia Qingtian who pushed .”

With her eyes lowered, she said pitifully,

“Only she and I were on the stairs. If it wasn’t her who pushed , it would be ludicrous to say that I put my own child at risk to fra her. What would be the gain from this? No mother in this world would treat her own child this way.”

“Moreover, the child in my womb is soone I struggled so hard to keep. How could I bear to hurt him?”

By the end, tears were streaming down her face.

The old Mr. Bo hesitated a bit, considering that she had a point.

He had been keeping an eye on Chen Momo throughout her stay in the old house and witnessed how cautious she was about the child in her womb.

It indeed didn’t seem plausible for her to harm her own child for stake in accusing others.

However, it was equally unbelievable that Xia Qingtian would intentionally push her!

Seeing that Bo Jingyan and his grandfather remained silent, Chen Momo knew that they had not bought her story.

An unwillingness flashed through her eyes. Today, she was resolute to pin her fall and near miscarriage on Xia Qingtian.

With that thought, she continued her pitiful plead.

“Grandpa, please speak to Qingtian for . After I give birth to this child, I will leave A City. I won’t be in her way, and I won’t vie for Bo Jingyan’s affection. I just hope she won’t continue to target my child.”

“If she feels I have betrayed her and harbors resentnt against , she can direct it at

instead. My child is innocent.”

To make her story more believable, she purposely said, “Grandpa, I want to call the police and let them handle this matter.”

Hearing this, the old Mr. Bo’s expression changed a bit.

Even though he trusted Xia Qingtian and didn’t think she would do what Chen Momo claid – intentionally pushing a pregnant woman down the stairs, he subconsciously tried to stop her, “What’s the rush in calling the police before we make sense of the situation?”

“I’m afraid if Qingtian doesn’t learn her lesson from this incident, she will continue to harm my child,” Chen Momo feigned fear.

Bo Jingyan spoke coldly, “I will investigate this matter. If what you said is true, we will definitely give you an answer.”

Upon hearing his intention to investigate, Chen Momo’s heartbeat quickened a bit, a hint of panic flickered in her eyes, fearful that he might uncover sothing.

However, after pondering for a mont, she felt a bit relieved.

Initially, her plan was to push Xia Qingtian down the stairs. To avoid being caught, she had prepared in advance, made sure no one was around, and then pushed Xia Qingtian.

In this incident, she was the victim. People’s subconscious sympathies would naturally tend to favor the victim.

Moreover, having already explained the cause and effect, it would surely create a biased impression in the minds of the old Mr. Bo and Bo Jingyan. Therefore, in the absence of conclusive evidence, all perceptions would inevitably tilt towards her.

Confident that there were no loopholes, Chen Momo gently said, “If grandpa and Bo Jingyan don’t want

to call the police, then I will listen to you.”

The old Mr. Bo sighed in relief when he saw her willingness to cooperate.

If she insisted on going to the police, it would inevitably lead to the investigation of Xia Qingtian. He could not bear the thought of Xia Qingtian being hauled to the police station for investigation.

Bo Jingyan then inquired about all the details of the incident, trying to find any inconsistencies or clues.
