"Yes." Ye Xinluo answered firmly, and seeing her so confident, the officer chose to temporarily believe what they were saying.

a bit; I’ll be right back." She said and then stood up to take the call on the side.
"Hello."
"Will you be ho for dinner tonight?" Beichen Rui’s voice ca through.
"I probably won’t co for dinner tonight; I should be staying here." Ye Xinluo replied.
Beichen Rui: "I see... Alright then. By the way, you went to the mall, right? Did you find anything you like? If so, just buy it and charge it to my account."
Ye Xinluo scratched her head, feeling far too stressed to think about what to buy, "Sothing happened here, and it’s not resolved yet."
"What happened?"
Ye Xinluo thought for a mont and replied, "Shanshan and I were shopping at a jewelry store, and sothing went missing. They insist Shanshan stole it and won’t let us leave."
Upon hearing this, Beichen Rui furrowed his brow and took a while before calmly asking, "Where are you now?"
"We’re at the jewelry store at the entrance on the second floor of the mall; what’s up?"
"Wait twenty minutes, I’ll send soone over to handle it."
"Oh, okay." Ye Xinluo nodded blankly, realizing he might use his connections to deal with it.
This was a relief, sparing her the trouble.
After chatting a bit more, she hung up the phone, returned to the store, and heard Lan Shan say, "You have no right to search my things!"
Upon hearing this, she furrowed her brow and quickly made her way back to her side, asking, "What’s going on?"
"Xinluo, they’re demanding to search my bag. On what grounds? I didn’t take anything of theirs, so what right do they have to search my property?"
Upon hearing her explanation, she also frowned, only to hear the store clerk sneer, "If you didn’t take anything, what’s the harm in letting us check your bag? Could it be there’s sothing in your bag you don’t want people to see?"
The implication was clear. Lan Shan furrowed her brow, "You have no evidence that I took anything, so why should you search my belongings?"
"Ma’am, you insist you haven’t taken anything from our store, and we’re willing to believe you. If you truly are innocent, we will give you justice.
But if you did take sothing, please hand it over."

Lan Shan cursed inwardly, almost on the verge of tears, wondering what kind of luck she was having today to encounter such an incident while out shopping.
It would have been better not to co out; this truly felt like the worst luck.

Doing so would be utterly humiliating.
