Chapter 1700: Company of Dead(2)
Little Shi was stunned when he was kicked but he did not fight back as Yu Mai was looking at him with red-rimd eyes which were filled with tears.
"Let's leave them alone," Wu Junfen said to Yu Dong who turned and glanced at her with a raise of her brows.
"Do you want to say sothing?" Yu Dong asked and Wu Junfen rely glanced at her before sweetly smiling.
She simpered and responded, "Of course not. Who said that? I just wanted to ask you where my souvenir is." She kicked Yu Dong on the shin who let out an 'Oww' before turning around and following Wu Junfen.
"Did you notice what is happening around the village?" Wu Junfen asked Yu Dong who humd and questioned, "Is that girl nad Ding Nuan Nuan possessed?"
Her grandmother was a skilled necromancer. She could not only summon the souls of the dead but she could also use the bones of the dead and create an army of dead.
When she was alive, she was one of the finest warriors of the governnt.
Thus, if Ding Nuan Nuan was possessed then certainly Wu Junfen must have noticed, it would also explain why Yu Dong could not trace the source of the negative energy.
"…It wouldn't be right to say that she has been possessed," replied Wu Junfen as she glanced at the children who were now apologizing to Yu Mai for whatever they had done. Her expression was taut as she said to Yu Dong, "It would be better to say that she has been keeping the company of the dead. Do you see the doll that she carries with her all the ti?"
Yu Dong narrowed her eyes before saying, "I did see it, but what about it?" She asked with a frown on her face.
"If I am not wrong then that doll is a dium," replied Wu Junfen. "A shell to hold a grudging soul." She then glanced at Yu Dong before saying, "You didn't notice? When you arrived, the energy around that girl suddenly changed. If I am not wrong then the soul has so sort of grudge against you."
She paused and asked, "Do you recall doing anything unjust against anyone?"
"Are you asking ?" Yu Dong asked with a raise of her brow. "I an — if we go according to that, then you and I will end up counting the number of people whom I have wronged for weeks."
Though she had never wronged anyone, those who were killed by her were due to the fact that they deserved it. But just because she killed soone, doesn't change the fact that they also thought that their deaths were justified.
"I forgot that you weren't a normal woman," Wu Junfen sighed as she raised her hand and pinched the bridge of her nose. She said to Yu Dong, "I believe that the soul that has been whispering and helping that girl, is related to you and not only is that soul dangerous —it seems to be getting stronger."
"We need to find a solution as soon as possible, we cannot let that thing continue to be arrogant."

After Yu Dong finished talking with Wu Junfen she returned ho with Yu Mai, and a few of his friends followed as well. All of them were holding what looked like a toy or candy.
All of these gifts were what they called an apology gift and none of them were accepted yet.
After all, Yu Mai was a r who carried his grudges for a long ti.
"Mai, didn't you say that you liked eating the radish pickle made by my daddy, look I brought a whole jar for you," Little Nu said to Yu Mai. She followed him and said in a flattering voice, "I am sorry, Mai. I really am…I don't know what ca over

Yu Mai glanced at Little Nu whose face brightened but then he snorted and turned to look away causing Little Nu to look worried.
Lang Ru on the other hand seed really pleased when she saw that Yu Mai was having a row with Little Nu. Having done with her lesson, she tottered towards Yu Mai and questioned, "Are you alright? I am sorry I had to leave but my teacher called ."
"It's alright," Yu Mai said sullenly as he walked past Lang Ru who raised her brows and then looked at Little Nu before asking, "What did you do to him?"
"What did I do to him?" Little Nu squeaked. "What I need to know is what that girl Ding Nuan Nuan did to ." Her voice was angry as she finished speaking, however after a pause, Little Nu realised that it wasn't enough and started telling what just happened just now.
Once she finished speaking, Lang Ru humd and then delivered a blow to the back of her head.
"Hey! What's the aning of this?" Little Nu asked as she rubbed the back of her head. "Why did you slap ?"
"The fact doesn't change you know? Even if you did not know anything and were bewitched, you still insult Yu Mai and need to be punished," Lang Ru said without changing her expression.
Little Nu looked stunned and so did the rest, only Yu Dong alone looked proud.
Indeed if not for the fact that it would be counted as bullying she would have had a nice chat with these kids.
Though Little Nu and the rest were speechless, they did not say anything after all, they all knew that Lang Ru had always been really close and protective towards Yu Mai.
Instead, it was Little Shi who snorted and said, "There is sothing wrong with that girl. I think that she is a witch. I an...I lose my mind whenever she is around and listen to everything that she says to ."
"I still cannot believe that I called Mai a 'jinx'. How can I do such a thing?"
The other children also agreed with him before Little Nu said, "We should run away every ti she gets close to us. If this goes on then who knows what she might make us do?"
