Ding Xuelan who was lectured for no reason felt like crying. She did not even do anything to Ding Nuannuan. Why was everyone treating her like this?
She was so angry that Ding Xuelan wanted to hit soone.
"You darned girl, when did I push you out of the house?" Ding Xuelan questioned as she turned around and looked at Ding Nuannuan.
She couldn't believe that this little brat went around saying that she had kicked her out of the house.
Ding Nuannuan was going crazy when she heard Ding Xuelan's questioning. Earlier she thought that she was really smart, and even Big Yu agreed with her.
As far as Ding Nuannuan's little mind could reach, she thought that if a little girl like her was to ask for food and lodging, under the pretext of being punished, Yu Dong would definitely take her in.
But Ding Nuannuan didn't expect or even think that Yu Dong was actually on guard against her from the very start.
Or that she knew that there was sothing wrong with her.
Thus, her carefully thought plan seed to have gone awry before Ding Nuannuan could even think of a counterasure.
In her head, she was a little child and no one should guard against her. Who would have expected that Yu Dong would be so cautious even while dealing with a little child like her?
"I— that…" Ding Nuannuan began but before she could speak anything else, Ding Yao and her husband Master Xu and Master Li walked out of the house with the other two husbands.
They looked at Ding Nuannuan who was crying and then turned to look at Ding Xuelan whose face was burning with embarrassnt and anger.
She looked like a badly burned radish.
"What's going on?" Ding Yao asked. She turned and looked at Ding Nuannuan and Ding Xuelan before asking, "What happened? Why are you all standing here?"
Her gaze then fell on Village Head Gu and Yu Dong. Seeing the two of them stand in front of her house, Ding Yao nearly fell to the ground.
What was going on? Why was Yu Dong and Village Head Gu here?
"M——Madam Yu, did sothing happen? Did my sister do sothing?" Ding Yao thought that it was Ding Xuelan who did sothing.
How could she not when Ding Xuelan was the one who got struck by lightning a few days ago?
Ding Xuelan: "…"
She was shot while lying down!
"I didn't do anything!" Ding Xuelan repeated what she had told Yu Dong and Village Head Gu. She pointed to Ding Nuannuan and said to her sister, "This brat went around saying that I kicked her out of the house and did not let her eat."
"How can I not let her eat? She is so tiny. How much food can she even eat? I never even asked her to leave the house, but sohow everyone keeps saying that I was the one who kicked her out."
Ding Xuelan was going crazy, she had been resting quietly in her room and did nothing, in fact after getting struck by lightning she thought that she needed to do better.
She was even thinking of finding a new job which would pay her decently.
When did she do sothing so foolish as kicking her child out of the house? Wouldn't she be inviting trouble if she did that?
She was just struck by lightning, why would she do sothing troubleso again?
"She also said that Madam Yao and her husbands do not like her which is why she was not given even a piece of chicken leg that I gave your family as a gift," Yu Dong said to Ding Yao with a reproachful expression on her face.
"Madam Yao, no matter what you should still treat your niece better than this."
Ding Yao and her husbands: "…" ??? When did they treat this brat unjustly?
Master Xu exploded at once, "When did we not let her eat?" He turned and glared at Ding Nuannuan wishing he could eat her flesh and drink her blood.
This girl ate two large chicken legs and she actually went to Yu Dong and told her that they did not like her and were not giving her food.
Was she trying to kick his wife out of her job?
Ding Nuannuan knew how strict Yu Dong was when it ca to the ill treatnt of the children of this village and yet Ding Nuannuan was going around spreading all sorts of nonsense!
Xu Shuhua turned to look at Yu Dong and said to her, "Please do not listen to her nonsense, Madam Yu! This girl has always been naughty. We did give her two chicken legs but it seems like she felt that they were not enough and ca to you."
He turned to look at Ding Nuannuan and smiled through gritted teeth, "Nuannuan, it is not like we did not want to give you enough at to eat. It's just that you are young and can not stomach so much at, which is why we only gave you two chicken legs."
"Why did you go looking for Auntie Dong for such a small matter?"
Even though Master Xu was angry, he dared not to hang the dirty laundry of his family in front of others.
Ding Nuannuan lowered her head, she knew that she was in trouble. With her uncle finding out that she had lied, Master Xu would not sit still.
More than her mother, Master Xu would cause trouble for her now.
Ding Yao turned to look at Ding Nuannuan as well. She knew that her niece had a lot of little thoughts but she never thought that Ding Nuannuan would do sothing like this, it was simply embarrassing!
The adults of the house did not let a child eat a full al. If it was true then Ding Yao would have never said anything but the truth is that Ding Nuannuan alone ate two chicken legs while her children shared everything.
None of them got a single whole chicken leg.
Despite knowing this, Ding Nuannuan went to file a complaint.
