"Oh it’s strawberries," Shao Tengfei said with so surprise. "Though they are ripe they still have so green shade at the bottom. Why did Princess send you unripe strawberries?" She could not help but ask in surprise. It was a rule that nothing imperfect could be served in front of the mbers of the Imperial family.
As Xie Lei was the eldest princess, it was quite a surprise that she actually forgo the rule and sent these imperfect strawberries to her mother. "Is there sothing special about these strawberries?" The eldest princess never did sothing that would embarrass the Imperial Family. There was no way, she would have broken a rule for no reason.
However, no matter how she looked at it the strawberries looked unripe.
"And what is that?" Cui iji questioned as she picked up the small wooden box inside the large one. As soon as she touched it, she pulled her fingers away in a jiffy.
"What’s wrong?" Xie Zhenya asked as she looked at Cui iji.
The latter blinked her eyes and then said to Xie Zhenya, "It is cold. How could it be cold?"
Xie Zhenya raised a brow and then picked up the box that was inside and opened it. No sooner did she open it, than white fus billowed out of the box. Inside the box were large chunks of ice and in between were so delicately woven wicker covers that were covering coloured ice.
"What is this?" Shao Tengfei had never seen sothing like this, she couldn’t help but peer into the box and question Xie Zhenya who picked up the letter and read it carefully again. She answered, "They are called Ice Candies. Apparently, they taste like fruits."
She picked up the orange one as Xie Lei said to her that this was her favourite.
Xie Xieren uncovered the ice candy and then bit into it. No sooner did she take a lick than her eyes brightened she turned to look at Shao Tengfei and Cui iji before saying, "It does taste like orange."
No sooner did she say this, than the other two won snatched the two ice candies before Xie Zhenya could stop them.
"Tha…That is sothing my daughter sent for !" She said to the two won who bit into their ice candies. Shao Tengfei waved her hand and then said, "This is made of ice and the box no matter how well insulated it might be, the ice inside will lt. We should eat them before the ice lts."
"That’s right!" Cui iji agreed with Shao Tengfei. Her eyes were closed as she relished the cold ice candies. She said to Xie Zhenya, "This is really good, even though it’s for a while… I feel my body cool down."
Xie Zhenya shook her head and finished her ice candy in a few minutes. She then drank water and ate sothing salty to wash over the sweet taste lingering in her mouth before picking up the unripe strawberries.
Since her daughter sent sothing nice there was no way she would send sothing sour and unappetizing to her.
She grabbed a strawberry and then bit into it. Xie Zhenya did not even wash the strawberry!
"Delicious!" She moaned with extre delight, the fragrance and sweetness of the strawberry filled her mouth. She then dipped the strawberry into milk jam and ate the remaining bit of it. "Oh my, it’s really good! How could sothing be so delicious?" Not to ntion she felt really energized after taking a bite of this strawberry.
Shao Tengfei and Cui iji looked at one another before they too followed Xie Zhenya’s actions. Their eyes brightened as they finished eating the strawberry and milk jam.
"This is really good!"
"I agree, no wonder the princess sent it to you, your highness!" Shao Tengfei felt embarrassed when she thought about how she thought that Xie Lei made a mistake by sending such things to Xie Zhenya.
"They are not even ripe yet," Cui iji noted as she remarked, "Who knows how ripe they would be when they beco ripe?"
Shao Tengfei and Xie Zhenya nodded.
Before they knew it, the box of strawberries was eaten by them. When they reached their hands into the box, they found that the box was devoid of any strawberries inside it!
"They are already gone?" Cui iji couldn’t help but complain. She signed and said, "I want to eat more. Now what should we do?" She wanted to eat more strawberries but when she looked at the boxes that were inside, Xie Zhenya imdiately closed the box.
She said, "We hardly get anything good to eat. Not to ntion we need to share so with our soldiers… it’s better if we leave the remaining."
Xie Zhenya decided to use a box of strawberries to lure the soldiers into working hard. The one who perford the best would be able to receive a box of strawberries from her. At the sa ti, she decided to ask her daughter to send more strawberries and ice candies.
Of course, the paynt would be handled by Lin Wan.
On the other hand, Shao Tengfei who was standing on the side silently, was thinking about sothing carefully. Her eyes flickered left and right as she thought of sothing.

Master Yuan who was standing in the courtyard of his building, looked at the sky while grooming his two wolves. His hands moved left and right, as he combed the fur that was entangled and couldn’t help but scold the two wolves, "You two have been frolicking in the mountains for a month! Just look at you! It’s as if you have been dragged from a pit of mud.
I couldn’t even believe that you two were my wolves when you returned."
He was not at all exaggerating because this was the truth!
