He looked at the quest and nodded, the system knew him well. He couldn’t react fast if the danger was abrupt and he needed a way to hone his instincts.
He was just a normal human on Earth so fighting had never been his strong suit. He was basically almost self-taught in everything he was doing now.
He was mainly fighting instinctively and with the little styles he had seen in movies. At least now, he got a specialized training regi.
A blindfold suddenly covered his eyes. He couldn’t see or hear anything around him. The system space had always been quiet and now with a blindfold he felt like he was standing in nothing.
Then he felt a shift in the air, a barely audible small whoosh ca from his right. He turned to the side. He felt hot air passing where he had been standing and a sound of sothing hitting the ground ca.
Alaric’s heart spiked, but he didn’t have ti to think before he felt another shift. He ducked down and rolled, using his forearm to receive the hit instead of his whole body.
He felt sothing passing over the place his head had been. The hit had clearly been aid at his head.
Another followed him down right after and he rolled, jumping to his feet. The attacks continued, each more unexpected than the others.
And Alaric learned to sense them, the shift in the air, the small sounds and movents.
He knew the system was not going to kill him, but he didn’t want to get hurt either.
Alaric summoned his whip after getting tired of rolling and dodging around.
The mont he heard the familiar sound he stepped back and aid his whip toward the area.
He missed; the weapon hit him right in the middle of his stomach, throwing him back until he hit the wall.
He stood up again despite the pain and aid toward the sound. This ti he hit it but not strong enough. He was hit on the shoulder, pain coursing through his body.
The process repeated itself as he missed or hit but not strong enough and got beat up every ti.
He threw the whip again but this ti he managed to stop the weapon. He heard it bounce back and hit the wall. His first victory motivated him; despite being hit a lot, he managed to hit the weapon back.
After a few grueling hours of this, Alaric flicked his wrist and the whip flew and wrapped over the weapon. He pulled it, removing it from the holder.
He had finally gotten proficient in detecting an attack beforehand and he had even taught himself how to attack back even in a disadvantaged position.
After just a few breaths he felt sothing prickling that made the hair on his body stand on end. He knew this reaction well.
Killing intent. He had experienced near death and fights enough to know how it felt.
He flicked his whip in front of him and jumped backward. His whip hit a tallic weapon. He knew instantly it was a knife clearly aid for his heart.
This ti they were clearly aiming at killing him. Another intent ca from the back and he flipped backward and in the air aid the whip at the source and hit it.
This process continued as Alaric detected the places where killing intent was coming from and attacked. It also happened with more than one killing intent and Alaric had to learn to navigate through all of them.
The room went quiet all of a sudden and Alaric could feel the changes in his body and senses. Right now his body was tense and ready to fight while his senses worked on overdrive to keep it going.
Alaric felt the place move as though it was rearranging itself. Then it went quiet.
He stretched his hands out and touched the walls from both sides. He touched behind him and found a wall but in front of him there was no wall.
It was clear that was a path he had to follow. The ground started to vibrate and Alaric jumped up. A spike ca out from where he was standing, clearly aiming for him.
He moved forward. The left wall opened and at the top sprayed a jet of fire. He ducked it after feeling the approaching heat but still got a little burn on his shirt.
He continued forward, different kinds of traps activated occasionally and Alaric managed to escape all of them.
He got startled once when the ground opened under him but he managed to hold on to the edge and pull himself up. After that he passed the obstacles with little to no damage.
When he jumped over a rolling stone by running up the walls and over it, he heard the system ding in his ear.
Alaric breathed a sigh of relief. He had finished the trial.
He removed his blindfold and he saw the most awaited ssage.

Alaric looked at the module and understood that it was only the beginning of training. If it was only the first module, he wondered how many there were.
It seed that the system had seen the dangers he was facing or was going to face and his unprofessional fighting skills.
He wondered what the hidden reward would be. Since it was hidden, it would probably be sothing good and helpful.
He left the system space and woke up. He looked around to see it was almost morning and covered himself and went back to sleep. He wasn’t about to torture himself.
All work with no sleep makes him a dull boy. He fell asleep right after.
Alaric woke up a few hours later from knocking on his door.
He pulled himself out of bed, still groggy, and opened his door. Jas was standing there in a suit holding an iPad.
"What is it?" he asked, stretching himself.
"I got responses from the job applications on both genders," he said.
Alaric was now fully awake.
"How is that even possible?"
"It’s probably because of your video of rejecting that porn star and you being sold at the auction," he said, then added, "You went viral yesterday so we are expected to get a flood of people."
"Ooh really," he said, "well at least it ca with good results."
"Yes, I added an advertisent for employnt with your picture on it," he paused, waiting for his reaction. Seeing none, he continued, "Worked like a charm."
"Okay, let just take a bath," he said, then closed the door behind him.
He looked at the ti on the watch. It was midmorning. He had really slept a lot.
He took a slow bath, massaging his muscles and soaking in hot water to relax himself before leaving the bathroom. He didn’t know when he would be able to treat himself well, so he had to take advantage of it now.
He put on white dress pants and a black pullover, then added a small necklace before leaving, the sll of his cologne following him.
When he arrived at the lobby, he found Jas waiting for him.
"So where are they?" he asked, looking at the near-empty lobby with the few people coming in.
"Outside at the courtyard," he said, pointing outside. "Bethany is recording their nas. We’ll be having the interview in the private room."
He pointed at the room he had rejected Christina in. He nodded and headed inside. Things had been a little unexpected, but it wouldn’t be hard to interview those registering as prostitutes.
Jas was responsible for interviewing the servants while he only dealt with the other side. It would have been a bit too much to expect him to do everything himself.
A few minutes later the door was knocked and an incredibly beautiful girl, blond hair, blue eyes, big boobs, small waist and all the works, walked in confidently and sat down without his welco.
Okay, maybe I was kind of slow but that was rude, he thought to himself, looking at her as she looked around the room.
"Hel..."
She cut him off before he could even start, "I know I’m getting this job, but I want the highest salary if you want to stay."
Say what now.
