He read the description and let out a loud howl of joy, startling Evelise. She stood frozen, wide eyed, staring at him like he had just been possessed.
"Damn yes! I rember those days back in high school, when my parents split, and I had to live alone for a while. Everything kept breaking, shelves, chairs, anything I tried to climb on while practicing parkour. I didn’t have anyone to call, so I just... learned from tutorial videos. So were real guys fixing stuff, others were DIY vloggers, and there was even this VTuber who made ho repair look fun."
He grinned from ear to ear, raising his glowing hand dramatically.
"And now, it finally pays off! I got the Craftsman’s Hand! This is it, baby!"
Evelise blinked slowly, ears twitching.
"What the f**k."
He turned his gaze around the room, his eyes following faint outlines glowing over the broken furniture. Each one ca with tiny floating text:
[Can repair: Requires 2x Wood, 1x Nail, 1x Hamr]
[Can dismantle: You’ll get 1x Wood Plank, 1x Nail, 1x Scrap tal]
Sid’s grin spread slowly as he scanned from one object to the next, the excitent in his chest building. The entire room looked like a ga interface had co to life. Every crack, every loose board, every pile of debris now shimred with possibility.
[NEW SKILL UNLOCKED!]
[Skill: Blueprint Vision]
[Description: Automatically visualize crafting and repair blueprints of nearby objects. Required materials and tools appear as floating prompts. Once all components are gathered, crafting, fixing, and dismantling can be perford instantly.]
Sid grinned in awe, his eyes darting from one glowing shape to another.
"So this explains what I’m seeing...You’re really showering with these cool skills, huh, system? Right after you made the personal janitor for this zombie bunny girl. This... this is incredible."
Evelise blinked, muttering to herself softly.
"System? It’s that what those things?.
She looked at Sid who eyes shining and glancing in the air like a crazy.
"Okay, I know that you finally lost it, human when you start smiling at broken junk."
Sid chuckled, still scanning the room.
"Trust , bunny girl—you’re gonna love this once I start rebuilding. Just watch."
"If it helps you work faster, then fine. Just don’t blow up the cabin."
"Relax!"
Sid said, rolling his shoulders and grabbing his hamr again.
"Now that I’ve got the recipes, I know exactly what I need. Ten pieces of scrap wood, five nails, and one cloth sheet. Once I’ve got them, this place is getting a full makeover."
He stood up, dusting off his hands before glancing back at Evelise.
"And uh... just so you know— if I start talking to myself, don’t freak out. It’s kind of a habit from when I used to livestream. I talk out loud, like I’ve got an invisible audience watching. Guess it just stuck with ."
Evelise gave him a flat look, one ear twitching as she crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.
"Whatever. Just don’t expect to laugh at your imaginary fans."
Sid chuckled and raised the hamr like a mic.
"Too late. They already love ."
He glanced around the cabin, spotting a few supplies that could help. The toolbox still had a handful of nails, and a half-torn cloth sheet lay folded in one corner.
"Alright, that’s two items off the list. Now I just need the wood."
His eyes moved to the ruined furniture scattered around the room. Broken chairs, a splintered table, and a shelf that had long since caved in. He crouched down, gripping the crowbar from the toolbox, and began dismantling them one by one. Each swing and pull ca with a soft tallic ping from his system interface as the fragnts turned into usable scrap.
"Not bad. Guess I don’t need to scavenge outside after all."
After so ti, the last chair leg snapped loose, and his counter finally hit the goal:
[Scrap Wood 10x acquired]
He wiped his brow and looked over the gathered materials. Ten planks of wood, a few nails, and the dusty cloth sheet. He dragged the supplies beside the cracked wall. Evelise was sitting by the window, idly tracing patterns in the dust with her clawed finger. Her crimson eyes flicked toward him as he dropped the tools.
"Finally. Took you long enough."
"Hey, quality craftsmanship takes ti. Besides, I’ve got sothing new I want to test out."
He looked at the cracked wall. Now that the system had uploaded the logbook’s blueprints into his head, he could see faint glowing outlines showing exactly where each plank should go.
"Alright, let’s see if this really works."
He muttered, grabbing his hamr. Following the ghostly blueprint lines, he aligned the wood, fastened the nails, and gave one final strike. The sound echoed sharply—
THUNK!
And then the glow around the wall pulsed once before fading. When the light cleared, the wall was... perfect. Smooth, sealed, and sturdy, as if it had never been damaged in the first place.
Evelise’s eyes widened.
"What— how did you do that? That’s not possible! You were just hamring random wood!"
Sid smirked, resting the hamr on his shoulder.
"Magic hands, baby. You wouldn’t understand. Trade secret."
"Trade secret? You were reading a dead man’s notebook five minutes ago!"
"Exactly! Guess I’m a fast learner."
He didn’t bother explaining the system interface floating before his eyes or the way his head still buzzed from the recipe upload. She wouldn’t get it. If anything, she’d accuse him of being cursed or worse, possessed.
He moved to the next hole in the wall, gathering the remaining materials.
Sid kept working, his movents steady and sure. With Craftsman’s Hand and Blueprint Vision guiding him, everything felt natural, almost effortless. The rhythmic thunk of hamring echoed through the cabin, blending with the soft creak of old wood giving way to new strength. Each repaired plank seed to breathe life back into the place, sunlight catching on the fresh grain where decay once lingered.
