Zombie Apocalypse: Reborn With A Farming Space Chapter 597: Family Reunion ( 1 )
At the sa ti, in Zhuji City, the Phantom team had just finished cleaning the last pile of zombie corpses. Feng Yun stored the tal cubes in his space and let out a sigh of relief. At this mont, half of his space was filled with tal cubes—or, to be exact, compressed zombie corpses.
With the black blood and scattered pieces of rotten flesh burned into ashes by the fire-type mbers, they were finally able to rest. In the last few days, not only did they have to continuously kill zombies, but they also had to collect supplies. Even if they were well-trained soldiers, their bodies couldn’t stand it any longer.
Sitting on the road, Shen Jinzhe suddenly felt the signs of breaking through. With a frown, he said, "Captain, I think I’m going to break through."
As soon as he said this, one after another, the mbers of the Phantom team showed similar signs. Seeing this, Jiao Lizhi quickly took out the Sthanam crystal from her space and gave one to each of them.
Standing not far from them, Du Beiye clicked her tongue and muttered under her breath, "A mass breakthrough?"
This ti, not only were the original Phantom team mbers breaking through, but the new mbers were as well.
Besides Jin Xuyan, who had recently broken through, only Jiao Lizhi and Du Beiye didn’t. Most of the mbers were attempting to step into level three, while so of them were advancing to level four.
Therefore, the process of breaking through this ti was longer and more dangerous than before. During this period, Jin Xuyan and Jiao Lizhi were busy assisting the mbers, while Du Beiye was tasked with guarding the periter.
The breakthrough process lasted for twenty hours. When the mbers opened their eyes, another day had passed. While their bodies were covered in sticky, black goo, they felt refreshed.
Seeing that they finally woke up, Di Hansheng said, "Brothers, you finally woke up! We’ve prepared water for you all. Take a bath first before we have breakfast."
The mbers nodded and quickly went to wash up. Their clothes were too filthy, so they threw them into Feng Yun’s space. They would wash them after returning to the base.
Since both Di Hansheng and Su Ruanyi only broke through to level one, they woke up after four hours. While waiting for the others, the two of them busied themselves preparing food and water.
An hour later, the mbers finally finished and sat around several pots of soup dumplings. As the new mbers, Di Hansheng, Su Ruanyi, and Chen Wenwu took the initiative to distribute the food.
While they were eating, Jin Xuyan said, "After breakfast, we will continue clearing the zombies in the red zones. Before leaving, make sure to remove the wall."
"Understood," the mbers replied in unison.
Unbeknownst to them, while they were having a hearty al, a large group of people entered the border of Lin’an City, Zhuji City, and the surrounding areas. These people were refugees from regions affected by radiation.
Zhuji City was a county-level city under a second-tier provincial city. So, while the population was below five million people, the economy of the city had been flourishing.
Since the Phantom team only operated in the red zone areas, the supplies near the border were still abundant. When the group of refugees arrived at the border, they saw scattered zombies wandering along the road.
After fleeing their hos, they had witnessed similar scenes so many tis that they had gone numb and were no longer afraid.
Sitting inside one of the cars, a young man said, "Father, we’re running out of water. Let’s check the houses and see if we can find sothing."
Hearing this, a middle-aged man nodded and replied, "Don’t go to crowded areas."
"Okay," the young man said, nodding, and drove the car onto a smaller road.
As they took a smaller route, several cars sped past them. The young man saw this through the rearview mirror and said, "They finally stopped following us."
In the back seat, a middle-aged woman let out a sigh and said, "Since they didn’t want to listen to our advice, then let them be."
"Mother, don’t be sad. Those people aren’t worth your concern," a teenage boy said, holding her hand.
The middle-aged woman nodded and muttered, "I just don’t know if we will be able to find your eldest brother."
"Mother, after we pass this city, we will arrive in Lin’an City. My eldest brother is studying there. He should still be in that city," the young man said.
After they left the main road, the number of zombies wandering the streets lessened. With his driving skills, Feng Xuan dodged the zombies easily.
Their car was covered in dried black blood and rotten flesh, but they didn’t bother cleaning it. After all, the rancid stench helped mask their scent.
Fifteen minutes later, he finally saw a small house on the roadside and said, "Father, how about we check that house?"
Seeing the house his son pointed out, Feng He nodded. After parking the car, he turned to his wife and youngest son. "Stay here and lock the door."
"Be careful," Jiang Li reminded her husband.
Both Feng He and Feng Xuan grabbed their weapons, a tal rod with the tip sharpened, before leaving the car. The mont they stepped out, Jiang Li quickly locked the door from the inside.
Father and son exchanged glances before walking into the house. The yard was covered in dust and dried blood, but there was no sign of zombies.
Reaching out, Feng Xuan gripped the door handle and opened the door. The creaking sound echoed in the silence, and a gust of wind blew past them.
Feng He narrowed his eyes as he observed their surroundings, while Feng Xuan shuddered. They didn’t dare to rush inside and moved slowly.
BANG!
Suddenly, a loud sound ca from below the ground. The two of them were startled and froze.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
