Thanks to the information he got from Zhang Yuan, he knew that compared to other mutant plants, mutant moss looked harmless but was actually very dangerous. It could devour everything without leaving a trace.

Although the mbers were feeling dejected for being unable to perform well in front of their Captain, they still followed his order and waited outside.

Yuan Ruiyue and the spies walked into the yard. He looked around and noticed that besides a patch under the wall, there were several patches of moss scattered in the house. There were even so near the bushes.

After a mont, he glanced at the spies and said, "Go inside and check the situation."

"Understood."

Eager to show off their skills, the three of them didn’t hesitate and entered the house. The mont one of them opened the door, they saw that the house was covered with moss.

Not noticing the danger, they walked into the house. After a while, the woman turned and said, "Captain, it’s clear. There are no zombies or mutants."

As soon as she finished her words, the mutant mosses suddenly crawled toward their feet. Before they could react, it had already covered their boots.

The mont they heard the sizzling sound, it was already too late.

Feeling the burning pain on their feet, the three of them let out painful screams and fell to the ground.

"Ahhh! What the hell is this?!"

"Ugh! It’s burning my skin!"

As experienced fighters, they knew that they had to remove the moss as soon as possible. Using their daggers, they tried to scrape away the moss, but no matter how much they removed, it grew back faster.

Standing outside the house, the rest of the mbers turned pale when they saw what was going on inside. They turned to Yuan Ruiyue and saw him standing with his hands in his pockets, watching the three of them struggle with a smile on his lips.

His eyes were cold as he said, "No need to waste your effort. These are mutant mosses. Rather than dying in agony, it’s better to slit your throat and be done with it."

The woman’s clothes were soaked with sweat from pain and fear. Turning to him, she asked with teary eyes, "Captain, you clearly knew about the mutant moss. Why didn’t you tell us?"

"Captain, we are loyal to you. Why did you treat us like this?" the man who had lost half of his calf asked in pain.

Yuan Ruiyue let out a chuckle as if he heard a joke. After a mont, he replied, "Your loyalty was never with ."

After he said this, he narrowed his eyes, and the next mont, their heads exploded suddenly. The heads exploded as if they were waterlons smashed by a rod. Blood, brains, and flesh splattered everywhere.

Crash! Crash! Crash!

The scene was so gory that the mbers who were watching couldn’t help but feel nauseous.

The next mont, the mutant mosses devoured everything, leaving nothing behind. In less than ten minutes, the house returned to its previous condition.

After killing the spies, Yuan Ruiyue walked out of the house and said, "Burn down the house."

Hearing this, two of his mbers quickly raised their hands and burned the house. As the fire surrounded the house, the mutant moss shrank and gathered together until it turned into a small patch.

"Clean up the mutant moss too. Don’t let it escape," Yuan Ruiyue added.

"Understood," the mbers replied in unison.

While it didn’t take long for them to burn the house, it took them half an hour to turn the mutant moss into ashes. After they were done, Yuan Ruiyue climbed into the armored car and said, "Let’s go."

"Captain, should we find a place to stay the night?" Di Hansheng asked.

"No need. We will take turns to rest."

When they heard his words, everyone knew that their Captain planned to go to Lin’an City without stopping. Everyone was afraid of him, so no one dared to object.

While they were traveling nonstop, the Phantom Team had just finished clearing up another wave of zombies.

After they cleaned up the area, Zhang Yuan opened Zhuji City’s map and said, "Captain, with our current speed, we might need ten or fifteen more days before we can reach the factory area."

Hearing this, Jin Xuyan nodded and said, "We are not in a hurry. During this period, besides clearing out the zombies, we will be collecting and selling supplies to the survivors. Also, try to break through to the next level before we return to the base."

The mbers understood that with their current situation, their strength was not enough at all. The zombies were evolving so fast and now, with the addition of the mutants, if they didn’t get stronger faster, they wouldn’t be able to survive the first year of the apocalypse.

With this thought, everyone nodded and replied in unison, "Understood."

"Alright, we will spend the night here. Clean up the area and take a rest," Jin Xuyan said.

The mbers quickly cleaned up the small storefront and checked the windows and door. After a long battle, everyone was exhausted, so they didn’t cook dinner that night.

Jiao Lizhi took out two baskets of stead buns and a pot of pumpkin soup from her Space. These foods had been prepared by her when she had nothing to do.

At first, she planned to sell them to the survivors, but they preferred to buy raw ingredients instead. It seed these foods ca in handy now.

After they finished their al, the mbers took turns patrolling while the rest went to sleep. As the night deepened, only the distant roars of zombies could be heard.

Early the next morning, before dawn, Jiao Lizhi woke up because she needed to use the bathroom. When she opened her eyes, she noticed that her fiancé was nowhere to be found.

After regaining her senses, she stood up and heard a murmur coming from outside. Feeling curious, she went out and saw him on a call.
