Chapter 780: Chapter 780: Suspicious Jade
Silas helplessly rubbed the bridge of his nose. His once fierce temper had pletely disappeared.
pared to before, he now resembled a large, obedient wolf that willingly lowered its head before only one person. Ivy.
He would never argue with her over trivial matters anymore.
Instead, he had bee extraordinarily cautious whenever she was around.
In fact, after learning about the pregnancy, the very first thing he had done was repeatedly question the doctor about whether their activities the previous night might have harmed the baby.
The poor doctor had nearly lost his patience after answering the same question several times.
“I’ve already told you. Yes, it did, but it shouldn’t have caused too much of a problem.”
He paused thoughtfully before continuing.
“However, for some unknown reason, the baby appears to be slightly weaker than normal. So if you want both the mother and child to remain healthy, you’ll need to make sure Miss Ivy eats nutritious food, gets plenty of rest, and avoids exhausting herself.”
Silas immediately nodded without a second thought. “I understand.”
From that very moment onwards, he began treating Ivy as though she were the world’s most precious porcelain doll.
He refused to let her walk. Whenever she wanted to go somewhere, he simply picked her up and carried her.
Whether it was climbing stairs, walking through hallways, or even moving from the bed to the dining table, he insisted on carrying her himself.
After enduring it for nearly an entire day, Ivy finally couldn’t take it anymore.
She lightly smacked his arm.
“If you keep carrying me everywhere, won’t I end up gaining a lot of weight?”
She imagined herself with an enormous belly and chubby cheeks before dramatically covering her face.
“And after giving birth, I’ll probably look like a big, fat pig!”
Silas looked at her with plete sincerity. “I honestly don’t care.”
His voice was gentle.
“For me, you’ll always be my beautiful Ivy.”
His fingertips gently caressed the corner of her eyes.
“Your eyes are the most beautiful part of you. When I look into them… I feel like I’m looking directly at your soul. So it doesn’t matter what your appearance bees. It doesn’t matter whether you gain weight… Or lose it.”
‘And I prefer you to gain weight and bee fat… rather than looking so thin. It makes my heart ache.’ He thought internally but didn’t dare to voice it out.
Ivy immediately glared at him. “You may not care, but I do!”
She lightly slapped his arm once again. “Now let me down!”
Seeing that she was genuinely being annoyed, Silas obediently lowered her onto the floor.
Even then, one of his hands remained protectively around her waist in case she lost her balance.
Several peaceful days passed. On the fifth day, Silas finally received a message from Nanami.
After reading it briefly, he let out a quiet sigh. Having no other choice, he decided to contact Nanami.
Watching him activate the munication link, Ivy tilted her head curiously. “You’re still in contact with Nanami?”
She frowned slightly. “I thought he’d already bee our enemy.”
Silas calmly shook his head.
“No. When you started negotiating with Tammy and Coco, Nanami immediately realized that the two of them couldn’t be trusted. So instead of siding with them, he secretly contacted me. He came up with an entirely different plan.”
Ivy listened attentively. “He pretended that he’d pletely absorbed your soul.”
A faint smile appeared on Silas’s face.
“In reality, he never did. If Nanami hadn’t cooperated with us, we never would’ve been able to fool Tammy and Coco for so long.”
Only then did Ivy suddenly understand. “So that’s why…”
She slowly nodded.
“When Nanami claimed he’d absorbed my soul and could feel the changes, Tammy and Coco lowered their guard. They thought there was no reason to doubt him.”
She suddenly paused. “Wait. What about the temporal storage? If they couldn’t find it inside my body, wouldn’t they immediately bee suspicious?”
Silas suddenly chuckled. “The Temporal Storage? I made sure they’d remain deceived for the rest of eternity. You don’t need to worry.”
His voice was filled with absolute confidence. “Tammy and Coco are already in the palm of my hand. If I want… I can kill them whenever I please.”
Ivy stared at him speechlessly. “What do you mean?”
She looked genuinely confused. “Do you have some way to control them?”
Silas had no intention of hiding anything from her. “I created a special jade. It serves as a bridge to my jade necklace.”
He calmly continued.
“In other words, Tammy and Coco believe they’re accessing the original Temporal Storage. But in reality, they’re only accessing the one connected to my necklace.”
For the first time, Ivy was pletely stunned. “Wait… We can actually do something like that?”
Silas shook his head. “Even I didn’t know it was possible. It was Jade who taught me. Without him… I never would’ve been able to acplish all of this.”
He fell silent for a brief moment before narrowing his eyes thoughtfully.
“But what I can’t understand… how does Jade know all these things? He knew how to create a perfect puppet. He knew how to bind a soul back to its original body. He even knew how to split access to temporal storage. It’s all far too strange.”
Hearing those words, Ivy narrowed her gaze.
“I think his future self probably contacted him.”
She looked directly at Silas. “Or I suspect he may have been the one responsible for everything from the very beginning in the previous life and has been reborn. Now he is helping us to repent.”
Silas raised an eyebrow. “How do you know that?”
Without hiding anything, Ivy told him everything. She explained how Jade had a private conversation once with her. She even shared how she dreamt of her past life.
After listening quietly, Silas slowly nodded. “If that’s really the case, then Jade is an extremely useful chess piece.”
A faint smile appeared on his lips. “As long as we use him properly, you’ll never be placed in danger again.”
Ivy looked at him speechlessly. “Is that seriously all you can think about?”
Silas laughed softly. “Yes.”
Without the slightest hesitation, he answered honestly. “Right now, all I can think about is you.”
He gently squeezed her hand. “Now, let me contact Nanami. You can listen if you’d like. Just stay beside me and don’t say anything.”
Ivy obediently nodded. She was just about to pull a nearby chair over when Silas suddenly smiled.
“You know what? Forget the chair.”
Before she could react, he carefully slipped one arm beneath her knees and the other around her back before effortlessly lifting her onto his lap.
Every movement was unbelievably gentle.
He supported her waist with one arm while making sure not to place even the slightest pressure on her abdomen.
Seeing how absurdly cautious he had bee, Ivy simply rolled her eyes. “You’re hopeless.”
Despite saying that, she obediently leaned against his chest, resting fortably in his embrace.
Satisfied, Silas closed his eyes. The munication link immediately activated. A familiar voice echoed inside his mind. “I can sense that Ivy is clinging to you.”
Nanami’s tone carried obvious amusement. “Is she going to listen to our conversation as well?”
Silas chuckled softly. “Nothing seems to escape your perception.”
He glanced at the woman fortably resting in his arms before smiling. “You’re right. She’s listening.”
Nanami fell silent for a few moments. When he finally spoke again, his voice had bee much more serious.
“If that’s the case, then I won’t hide anything from either of you.”
A heavy silence settled between them.
“I believe there’s a very high chance that Tammy and Coco have already realized that the Ivy in their hand isn’t the true one.”
His tone remained calm, but the weight behind his words was unmistakable.
“And once they confirm that suspicion, they’ll most likely make their move very soon.”
Hearing those words, Silas’s expression gradually turned cold. “If that’s true, then I should finish them off once and for all.”
Nanami didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he quietly warned him. “Be cautious.”
His voice became unusually solemn.
“I’ve had an unsettling feeling these past few days. It feels as though Princess Rayami is being pushed into a corner.”
He paused briefly. “And desperate people often make desperate decisions. I have a feeling she’ll make another move against you very soon.”
Upon hearing that, Ivy frowned. “What kind of move?”
Nanami calmly answered, “She may descend to Earth personally.”
His next sentence made the atmosphere inside the room noticeably colder. “And she’ll most likely e here to kill you herself.”
Ivy blinked before letting out a helpless sigh. “You know, sometimes I genuinely feel like all these superior beings have nothing better to do than hunt me down.”
She let out a bitter laugh. “It’s almost as though their entire existence revolves around finding new ways to kill me.”
Nanami chuckled quietly.
“In a sense, you’re not entirely wrong. Their entire existence revolves around only one thing. The Throne. As long as someone possesses the throne, they can rule over the entire universe. Every civilisation. Every race. They all fall beneath the authority of the one seated upon it.”
