Brian POV
After teleporting us to the sky above the States capital, and making sure Sora began flying on his own, I deployed a barrier to protect the city.
I was tempted to put a Sphere Field around us, but I can’t since it will block my strategy. Sure it should prevent Sora from using his Unique Skill, but should isn’t will and I’m not even sure just how strong he is, so I can’t.
The fact that Sora is planning on sending soone else, most likely himself, to the past is a problem. Because then I’d also need to go back there and stop whoever was sent there. Or I’d have to stay there for another 80 years to make sure they don’t ss with the story.
So yeah. Stopping Sora here and now is the only real choice.
“So. How do you want to dance? Swords? Magic? A little bit of both?” I asked him.
I was quite confident in myself, because Sora never trains. At least he hasn’t during the ti I’ve been keeping an eye on him. He does no sword practice, and only minimal magic practice. And the magic practice is him producing those teleportation stones the States use, so it is more production than actual PvP practice.
… is calling this PvP wrong? Maybe. But it feels appropriate.
“This is no dance.” Sora said, as he opened his Item Box and pulled out a large two-handed sword. I appraised it and realized that it was an alright Legendary Sword. Nothing insane like Errelitea, but it does rival Chandrahas in terms of power.
Still, a 3000 to his Strength stat ans nothing at our levels.
“A sword dance is still a dance.” I responded, as I took out a weapon of my own.
It was a ‘simple’ adamantite sword I’d made in the past. It was indestructible, but not actually Legendary since it didn’t have any associated stat boosts.
You might ask why I didn’t imdiately bring out Errelitea, and the answer is because it gives too big of a stat boost. It gives a 1,000,000 to both Strength and Magic. That is just … too much. Sure I’ll take it out if I need it, but I probably won’t.
Because at the end of the day, I need him to use the Power Structure in a specific way so that I can take it down permanently.
I let Sora have the first move and he took it. He charged at with what I believe was Sky Flicker, but considering the skill, he was sowhat slow. Well, from my point of view.
I took in his charge, and the impact sent shockwaves everywhere. Luckily I had put up the barrier to protect the city, or we would have taken the roofs off of a few buildings.
Judging his Strength based on the one strike, he wasn’t as high as I was. He most likely had over 100,000 Strength, but nothing near my almost 250,000.
He kept slashing at , and I began to dissipate the energy with my sword instead of having it blast into the surroundings. It was a decent challenge, as I hadn’t practiced that much. Usually it just isn’t needed.
Sora seemingly noticed that I was playing with him, so he changed to magic. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark. He tried every elent one by one, but they were easy for to counter. And I didn’t even use Erasure Magic or Space Magic to counter it.
Foxfla, Lightwave Magic, Phantom Magic and Prism-Ice Magic were enough. My skills and the strength of my spells simply overpowered his.
After Sora figured that regular magic didn’t work, he moved to Space Magic. … But his skills with it were a joke. Simple spells that were equally simple to counter.
He then tried combining all three. Space Magic to do short range teleportation, sword skills to attack physically, and so attribute magic to attack that way as well.
But they were all just simple blocks.
“... co on Sora. Is this really all you can do? Your sword technique is terrible and your magic is honestly a joke considering the power that should be behind it. Is all you have really just stats?” I asked.
“Like you are any better.” He shot back. “You haven’t put a scratch on yet.”
“... alright.” I agreed.
I instant casted a few spells. Ti Magic to speed myself up, and another to slow him down. Then with Sky Flicker I moved, slashing at Sora’s midsection with my sword. I cut through his clothing, but purposefully not too deep into his flesh.
Sora flinched a bit, but didn’t let out a sound. And just a few monts later, the wound on his side healed, likely because of Regeneration.
“You call weak and all you do is a scratch.” Sora taunted.
“Had to test your defenses.” I responded. “I could have cut you in half. Probably. Unless you have a skill to prevent that.”
We did a few more similar trades, but despite showing that I could harm him, but he couldn’t harm , Sora didn’t want to cast the spell I needed him to cast. He did pull a small amount of stats from so people, but only from those directly under the Power Structure. I need him to go further.
I would have kept bating him, but I felt a ripple in space and a drain of a small amount of mana. Sora clearly noticed as well, since he stopped.
We watched as the Space itself gathered and ford a human body. It ford into a girl, about 15 years old appearance wise, with purple twintails.
“So you finally summoned sothing!” Sora called out.
“... were you waiting for that?” I asked. “And no, I didn’t summon her, she summoned herself. By the way, hi Iris.” I greeted the Superior Spirit of Space.
“Hi.” She responded.
“Summoned herself?” Sora asked.
“Yeah. Superior spirits … Well, all spirits really, can do that. The superiors just do so using my mana. They can steal the 1k they need.” I explained.
“You gave us permission.” Iris argued.
“Sure did.” I agreed. “So what did you co here for, Iris?”
“Just ca to…” Iris was about to tell why she was here, but Sora spoke over her.
“Perfect. Then I can just …”
I didn’t want him talking, so I quickly shot a few Ti-Space Sealing Swords at him, and chained him up with Gravity Singularity Chain.
“Quiet. The adults are talking.” I told him, again trying to get him to do what I want. “So Iris. What are you doing here?”
“Just ca to get you.” She said. “She is hatching. Lachros and I want you to be there for that. Besides, you should na her.”
“Now? … of course it is now. Why would it not be now?” I complained aloud. “Alright. Give a second.”
I quickly summoned all of my wives. Wilma had finished her fun with Takumi and Hugo, and she was the last of them to be ‘busy’ with sothing.
I then rechained Sora and used a handful of Ti Magic spells to make sure he wouldn’t move for a bit.
“My mana daughter spirit is about to hatch. Iris and Lachros want there so I’m heading over. Keep an eye on him, he is the Power Structure Holder.” I told my wives. “Janina, he shouldn’t be stronger than you currently, but if he does start pulling power from his subordinates, he will surpass you. The spells and chains should hold him, but you can never be sure. Soul Magic will slow the drain, maybe even prevent it, use it.”
“Can’t we be there for the birth?” Alice asked.
“I think it is better if …” I began, but Janina cut off.
“Go. The six of you.” She said. “You don’t see the birth of a superior spirit every day. You should experience it. I’ll keep an eye on him.” She promised. “And dear. Take my copy with you. She can experience it with you all in my place.”
“... alright. Iris, I’m taking us to HoBase and heading straight to the theater." I said, and teleported all of us, except Janina, over.
Our stop at HoBase didn’t take any ti at all. I just wanted our bodies away from Sora while our souls would be separated. Sure I could have used the Automatic Defense spell dragons use when they leave their bodies, but that really isn’t a good idea with my stats.
Using Soul Magic, I separated our souls from our bodies and transported all of us to the spirit world, and not just that, but directly to the Space-Ti theater.
I was guided to the stage by the spirits, while Lachros and Iris guided my wives to the front row seats.
Alice asked why they weren’t allowed on the stage, to which Lachros said that the new spirit might crush them with her magic. Thus they had to stay back.
And it was a good thing they did. Because as I took the last steps leading to the stage, I felt a strong pulse of Gravity Magic which tried to crush to the floor.
Luckily I’m more than strong enough to stand up to it, but it honestly could be dangerous, even at their level. They wouldn’t die from it, but injuries are more than possible, especially to Cailie and Janina’s soul copy.
I got a quick rundown from the spirits on what they expected to happen. Which admittedly wasn’t a lot, but my part was kind of important.
Basically, I had to turn the gravity mana pulses coming from the egg back to the egg. This would help the final gathering before the hatching.
I did it the sa way I did when I made the egg. Using the Gravity Singularity Chain. I wrapped the pink chains around the pink egg, the two almost lding into one.
And after a while, the egg fully absorbed the chains, leaving chain patterns onto its surface. The egg began to fall apart along those patterns, collapsing into itself.
The pink light then gathered into the shape of a human. A small human.
Currently still undressed, and looking around 6 years old, the brand new spirit still had a slight pink hue to her skin. Her hair kept the bright pink color and was tied into mini braids that kind of looked like chains. My fault probably.
I took a simple cloak out of Storage and covered the new spirit with it. She will soon learn to make herself clothes, I hope, but she can keep the cloak until then.
From there, Iris, Lachros and I quickly explained so things to her. Mainly about who she is and how she should control her mana. It was mostly her two ‘mothers’, but I was there to help with the magic aspect.
Then ca the next part the two spirits wanted my help with. Naming her.
We talked about it a bit, and even got our new spirit daughter's input. She wanted a strong but short na, like Iris. Lachros wasn’t super happy to hear that, but it is what it is.
We ended up naming her Atla. Not quite Atlas holding up the heavens, but close.
With my part here completed, we quickly left. I still have a fight to finish, even if this was a decent reason to put it on pause.
As we regained our bodies on HoBase, I noticed we brought along an extra. Atla had ‘stuck’ to and summoned herself here.
I didn’t mind, but it was a little inconvenient, but I still took her with when I teleported back to where Janina and Sora were.
Sora had managed to break my Ti Magic spell, but my Gravity Singularity Chain … actually, Chains or Atla now, were still holding him in place. But he was clearly fighting against them and would soon break free.
“Did you miss ?” I asked Janina.
“He is boring and his ideology is stupid.” Janina stated coldly. It hadn’t been all that long on this side, but Sora had clearly gotten on her nerves.
“Back with a kid, huh? Did you steal her? Maybe summoned her from another world?” Sora taunted .
“I an, kind of. et Atla, the just born superior spirit of Gravity.” I introduced her. “Atla, Sora Mugenbashi.” I also introduced him.
“Hi mister Mu… Muga… Muger… Mister Sora.” Atla greeted him after struggling a bit with his last na. I’m sure she’ll get the hang of talking soon.
Sora clearly didn’t like that Atla struggled with her na, as he attacked her with a Soul Magic spell. I blocked it on reflex, but I wasn’t happy that he had done that.
… also, his spell was a lot more powerful than it was before my little distraction.
“Janina.” I said to get the attention of my strongest wife. “Did he cast the spell while I was gone?”
“Probably. He tried a few.” She answered. “I didn’t pay attention until the Ti Magic ca down. It made listening difficult.”
“Lend your hand.” I asked and took her hand.
I then took us to the mory Palace, and quickly looked through Janina’s mories.
“Soul Subordinate Link.” It was quite difficult to make up Sora’s words, since he was slowed down quite badly, but after a few repeats, I did confirm that he cast the spell.
Though honestly, I could have told from the results. Because just a second later, a burst of mana shred through my Ti Magic spells, destroying them. And there is no way Sora could have done that without a stat boost.
“Dragon.” He spoke up. “Why don’t you join my side? Not like that slave can ever do anything for you.”
I looked at Janina in the mory Palace. She didn’t tell Sora tried to recruit her.
“No thanks.” Janina said, not even looking at Sora. “My dear Brian is a much better man than you’ll ever be.”
“Hah.” He fake laughed. “That slave will never be a man.”
“As I said, he already is.”
“... I suppose there is no point in reasoning with you.” Sora gave up on the argunt.
He then visibly strained against the Chains of Atla trying to break free, anwhile casting a few spells and trying to use them to break the chains.
“That won’t work. Even I can’t break them.” Janina told him. “And the chains are getting stronger by the second because of what is happening.”
“And that is?” Sora asked, but he didn’t give up on breaking the chains.
“You’ll learn when he cos back.”
That was when we returned, so I stopped watching.
With not even a millisecond having passed since we entered the mory Palace, Janina and I ‘returned’.
I turned to Sora and smiled, although to him it probably looked like an evil grin.
“Alright Sora. Ti to end this.” I said, as I released the chains holding him and teleported my family away from the battlefield. There will soon be a massive mob here and I don’t want them getting mixed into the crowd.
